Although it's a rather mild romance, the device the tale revolves around offers it a great twist for the theme and, towards the end, may touch your heart.

I initially read this book because of a college assignment, but after reading it at the beginning I felt this story was very comfortable to read, then in the middle of the story, this comic is very touching and at the end of the story there was a plot twist that was very unexpected and made me almost cry , a very touching comic!

An emotional oneshot manga about a young girl whose life is measured in heartbeats. She knows exactly how many beats her heart has left before she passes away. Together with someone she loves, she plans to spend the last days of her life to the fullest.

This is a nice little slice of life story full of upbeat moments with a beautiful ending. I did think it was a bit rushed and jumped from plot point to plot point a little too rapidly which made it difficult for me to get attached to the characters. Still a good and impactful story for its short length though.

My rating: 3.0/5

How can a one chapter manga (one shot) make me cry?
Read this one WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE SYNOPSIS. Just read it blindly. Then you will realize.
brb, wiping my tears

Over the years, I've fallen out of love for manga (I used to really love shoujo manga) because often times, it felt very stereotypical and cringey.

This one shot is a good one, though. Loved the art style, loved the simple poignant story (you should really go into this not knowing anything).

Maybe I'll try picking up some more manga in the future.

Causing quite a lot of pain in such a short amount of time (even more in a one-shot) is an achievement not a lot of works can claim. This is a simple story that is sad, but quite sweet, and is one that, while short, is certainly not an easy read (especially once you hit *that part*). It is sad, but not hopelessly depressing, which is why I enjoy reading it. Really quite lovely.
