Wow! The final chapter in the Sicario Files (Retribution) by Stephanie Baldi, is a true page turner. When the reader vows to read 'just one more chapter' then continues on for five or six more, you can be assured the story is riveting.
Nick and Carrie D'Angelo thought their past was behind them. That they'd seen the last of Miguel Medina. After all, he was still in Mexico; or so Nick and his best friend and "business associate", Dalton think. They were wrong. Medina has set out to seek revenge for the death of his former lover, Carmela, in the most despicable way. He would take away something from Nick more precious than life, itself.
I've read all three of Ms. Baldi's series books and have loved every one. The last, especially. On second thought, maybe I don't like it as much because it's the end of a fantastic series!
The author weaves storyline and characters artfully in this suspense-filled account. The reader will hang on every word of Retribution, but be sure to read the first two, Redemption and Retribution!
I did not read the prior books in this trilogy but that didn’t take away from being sucked in and held in its grip! Well written story told from several POVs…I felt like I was watching a movie! Great story with lots of action that keeps up your heart rate. Narration was spectacular! The author chose the perfect narrator to bring this book to life. Now I feel compelled to get book 1!!! This is a definite re-listen for me. I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
This is a SOLID 4.5 stars for me. I have now read all 3 of the series. This is a fast-paced, page turning story and kept me hanging on every page right until the end. The characters in this book you really grow to love. Dalton and Nick have proven to be an inseparable pair right to the bitter end. I thought the epilogue wrapped everything up beautifully and brought closure and a tear to my eye. Thanks Stephanie for such an amazing trilogy!
This is the last in the series. I have enjoyed each and every one! I could see this series being made into a mini series or a movie. You get pulled in and you feel like you know all the characters you feel for them and feel with them. The action, loyalty and family is strong! I highly recommend this series to all. Great rerad!!
Reckoning: Sequel to Retribution and the Third Book in the Sicario Files
Lives were saved. Some lives were lost jn this action thriller story by author Stephanie Baldi. So many cartel "bad guys" were blackmailing kin folks, etc. in this third and final book. Happiness and peace w/o fear from outside forces can now be the family legacy in South Dakota.
