Tinker B. Etheridge's a college grad that graduated with a BA in computer science & master of chemistry,Earth Science. Who ended taking a job as a data entry person in his home town to pay his bills and fund his hobby of krav maga martial arts, while waiting on any of his applications to the organisations around the world dealing with fields in earth science. He ends up being trans-located onto a magical world of evil death casters, orcs and goblins. He also finds dwarfs and elves among other creatures of the fey and magic. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.
TD Wilson - Born in 1960. Lives in Perry, Georgia, where I spend my time geeking out over advanced tech and watching Anime or reading or watching Fantasy & Sci-Fi. I hope you enjoy reading my stories.
There might be an interesting story buried here. Certainly a wish-fulfillment power fantasy given how it starts. But the writing was choppy enough, with freestyle tense changes and random side descriptions and awkward exposition, that I didn't last very long.
Pretty good. It was a lacking some nuance but I did enjoy it. Guy gets struck by lightning and is transported to another world in a 13 year olds body. His new body is that of a prince who has been discarded by his family. He was born with magic which the family sees has curse so he has been shunned his whole life. Now in a new body he learns about the world and a little about magic. He knows he is about to be kicked out so he decides to leave. He ends up meeting a bunch of dwarves and elves. Without any training at all he becomes a grand master of magic. He was also a krav maga master back on earth so he is able to kick some serious ass. The MC is way OP and it isn't realistic him being so good at martial arts just from doing his katas and his use of magic without any training. That is where my lack of nuance comment from above comes into play. Overall it is enjoyable to sit back and read about a super OP MC who can kick ass without many problems.
TD tells a good story. Good pacing, interesting characters, and a sympathetic Protagonist. Unfortunately, English is TD’s second language. The series’s faulty sentence structure, bad tense usage, improper word usage, and misplaced or erroneous punctuation is highly distracting. There is not one well written paragraph in any of TD’s books. Still, a good story is a good story! 4 stars in spite of disastrous editing and translating.
A young human is magically pulled into a world of dwarfs, elves, fairies, sprites, orcs, and magic. As he discovers his own life story and begins honing his magical skills, he befriends many of these fanciful peoples. The story is engaging and entertaining, but poorly written. I kept mentally rewriting sentences thinking that an editor would have corrected this. Our young magical human saves the day many times. I hope the author can polish the text in future books.
I’m ashamed to say that it took reading this book to stop and leave a review. I really enjoy stories with well written characters, positive outcomes, and the premise that though you may come from a place of abuse, or neglect, it does not have to define your character. I also love 20th century knowledge brought back into a Elizabethan world. If you like Whisky Flowers, James Haddock, or PS Power’s books you will enjoy this one.
This series could have been so much more. If the author knew how to write. the way the book is written .. is like a itemized list being recited. Subject a did this. Then did that .. then went here. etc Its very poorly written. Has many issues a basic glance at in proofreading would have found. This series looks like it was written and then the author never took another look at it. Just published it.
The only downside I see to this story is a lack of proper sense of time and a very rushed storyline it doesn’t feel lacking but it does seem to blend together and forget to tell you a month or two has passed when it feels like only a few days when reading otherwise I very much like dick and was very much entranced by the story.
This book is really good like how the author changed up how the character wound up in this new world the story was great the only thing that saddened me was that I read way to fast so I fished the book in one day and there is no next book yet but I am eagerly waiting for the next one and so every on knows I can read a thousand page book in two day max
It started out good, writer knows his IT stuff, and the MC is portrayed as a smart guy.
But I could not stand the format errors in the book (suddenly part of the book had text lines in a grey background) and the way things are described. It's just too fast.
It has potential, but this could use a rewrite and a good editor.
By some miracle I finished reading this. And I have to say that it was a little tough to read because something about the writing seemed off. Then there was the plot and the fact that the guy is suddenly an instant expert on everything and can cast magic like a pro from the get go. He also seems to bump into bad guys every other paragraph. And that's it.
Really enjoyed the first three books can’t wait for the next one.
I get tired of authors trying to explain how magic works in detail blah blah blah instead of just writing the story. Mr Wilson hits the explanation briefly and gets on with the story without rehashing it over and over.
Very good reading. A totally enjoyable read. I just wish the second book was ready. I am sure that I will be checking on a frequent basis And be bummed out when I do not find book two. My request to the author is write faster
Like any good story it pulled me in and wouldn't let me go. The only dislike I have for this book is that it is too short. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
This is a pretty good story. The only thing that I don't like is the way the writer keeps jumping from one tense to another. It detracts greatly from the story. For me, that is the only thing keeping this from being a 4 star review.
Interesting story, one that I have indulged myself with several times. Editing needs to tighten up the writing but the story is worth ignoring this issue.
