Rate this book
There’s only one problem with running away from your past – it has a nasty habit of catching up with you......

Lizzy Elliott is determined to lead a quiet life, away from all that she’s ever known because her past tried to destroy her. Barely recovered, she’s finding it more difficult to stay on the path she’s chosen, especially when tiger shifter Charlie comes to the village she’s hiding out in. She’s drawn to him but needs to remember how cruel shifters can be. She can’t afford to forget that, no matter how strong the attraction.

Charlie Harker is a Navy SEAL, returned from the type of duty a tiger shifter was a useful asset. Unfortunately, his scars are not easily healed by his shifter ability, some scars go too deep. He is forced to live life without relationships for fear that if his beast strikes out he could kill. Lonely he might be, but this way he is safe.

A quiet English country village should be the perfect place for two people to heal and recover, but sometimes trouble comes looking no matter how hard you try to hide.

Taming the Beast is the second book in the thrilling Tiger Shifter Trilogy. If you like twisty mysteries, gorgeous men and smart, compassionate heroines, then you’ll love Amelia Hopegood’s shifter series.

A tiger-shifting thriller

This book was really easy to get into. It was fast-paced and not predictable.
The characters were strong and believable and extremely likeable.
Although it is part of a trilogy, it can be read as a stand alone story. I liked the fact that there is a continuing link, that of a ruthless, sinister and seemingly omnipotent company which is out to get the protagonists.
All in all, an enjoyable read that I read in one sitting on an international flight.

Lizzy is hiding from an abusive ex and Charlie is dealing with PTSD as a shifter and they are drawn toward each other but need to deal with the issues from their past. The ex is involved in some really bad science and when he finds Lizzy it's bad for her, but Charlie enlists the help of his friends to rescue Lizzy. Lots of unpleasant surprises and plot twists but in the end Charlie and Lizzy get the future they wanted. Great read.

I am enjoying the series, never having read about tiger shifters before. I like that the paranormal is there, but not overwhelming.
