Mara Montgomery insists she does not need a guide dog despite her vision loss. But charming dog trainer Connor Flanagan’s plan is one that even Mara can’t resist, though it means she’ll be around Connor more. It would be too easy for Mara to fall for both him and his dogs. But will Connor still want her when he realizes she can’t—or won’t—give him all that he deserves?

Loved this book. Stelmack in an amazing author. I've been hooked from the first of her books I've read. I own ALL her books in print (unusual for me.) This story touched my heart. The blind heroine was both timid and brave. The hero, pushy and sensitive. Together, they made the perfect couple with each overcoming a difficult personal challenge with the help of each other. You don't want to miss this one, or any of the others in the series. Highly recommend.
Final entry in the Montgomerys of Spirit Lake series, in which Mara, who has retinitis pigmentosa is losing her sight and isn't sure she wants a guide dog. But dog trainer Connor Flanagan is certain she would do better with one and he takes it upon himself to convince her by placing not one but two different dogs in her care under the guise of socializing the dogs in question.
In the course of Mara taking care of the dogs, she finds herself drawn to Connor, too, but he wants a family should he ever settle down and she is determined not to have children lest they inherit the genes that result in RP, too. How can this situation be resolved? Will it ever be? An emergency involving Connor becomes the precipitating event, along with the unplanned birth of a bunch of puppies of Mara's guide dog. Nice.
