Caring For Her Amish Family is a very enduring story written by Carrie Lighte. This story has amazing characters who are very likeable. The storyline is also likeable because it shows how family should help family. I enjoyed the journey Anke had to take to care and protect her English nephew within her Amish community. There was one character I really disliked because she seemed selfish, judgemental, and uncaring but because of her attitude she became unhappy with herself and did a real about face. Another character is just being plain cruel because of Anke's refusal of him and he finds himself in hot water with the Bishop. This story reminds the reader that people can make mistakes in their lives but can always fix them. Such a touching story.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

I really enjoyed this sweet story of Anke and her non-Amish nephew. I loved Anke's loving character and her patience. She was a great example to everyone, even the difficult characters. It was sad how the community was not willing to welcome her nephew and made it very hard to have little Will feel a part of both the family and the community.
I enjoyed the character of Josiah and how he was the only one that was willing to help in the situation that Anke found herself in. I felt so strongly in favor of Anke and what she was doing to help her sister and nephew. She was a strong person in the book and you can't help but cheer her on.

Great family story. So glad I purchased this last month!

This was an emotional read with a happy ending. It had many ups and downs. It’s definitely real life to watch people judge and criticize. It doesn’t matter if you’re English or Amish, we as Christians should not be cruel in judging others. This is the first Amish fiction book where I saw a whole Amish community hating the Englishers in their lives to the extent of unkindness. It made me sad. But the author was realistic. In the world we live in, we often categorize people unfavorably and gossip and destroy reputations. “Jesus, help us to be more like You in loving and forgiving and caring and building up one another.”

I loved this beautiful and moving story. It showed the importance of family care and responsibilities. It also showed the importance of following God's leading rather than being led by what others think or by their judgments. Anke and Josiah's story was lovely and inspirational as they continually overcame obstacles that kept presenting themselves. It is truly a must read.

I enjoyed this tender story of Anke Bachman caring for her non Amish
Nephew. There were twists and turns,but the people were kind and loving.
It spoke of people gossiping and not always accepting others as they should.
This was a true lesson in caring, forgiveness, loving, and accepting people
For who they are and not what we think they should be. It was well written
And told. Recommended.
