BB Easton is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, the hilarious, steamy, tell-all memoir that inspired the Netflix Original Series, SEX/LIFE. Within the first month, SEX/LIFE was viewed by 67 million households worldwide, making it the 3rd Most-Watched Netflix Original Series of all time.

BB was a stressed-out school psychologist and mother of two when the inspiration to write 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN struck. Through that process, she rediscovered her passion for writing, became dangerously sleep-deprived, and finally mustered enough courage to quit her job and become a full-time author.

BB went on to publish four more wickedly funny, shockingly steamy, and heartwarmingly autobiographical books in the 44 CHAPTERS series: SKIN, SPEED, STAR, and SUIT. Since then, she's been hard at work writing fictional stories that appeal to her love for us-against-the-world romance, including a dystopian trilogy (PRAYING FOR RAIN), a psychologist-client romantic comedy (GROUP THERAPY), and a dark mafia romance (DEVIL OF DUBLIN).

... Final days.

A big thumbs up to this trilogy. Thumbs up to its covers. Thumbs up to its character development. Thumbs up to its world building. Thumbs up to its author. Thumbs up to myself for giving this series a try. And thumbs up to those who are planning to read this one in the future.

Note: This is an apocalyptic dystopian romance.

"I might be a sheep ... But this sheep is wearing wolf’s clothing."

Dying for Rain is the last book in the Rain trilogy.

This was one of those trilogies that I wasn't expecting I would enjoy so much. It was also one of those trilogies that I consumed the same way I did with my favourite trilogies. And definitely one of those trilogies that I wish has more to come.

I savoured every single page of this book. I felt Rain's pain. I felt Wes' love. My fuckin' heart bled because of what they suffered. It warmed because of their devotion to each other. And it soared because they never stopped losing the tiny hope they had.

I just became a fan of Wes and Rain. A special mention to Q, I adored your muhduhfuckin' self you bitch. You deserved Carter. Furthermore, sadly, I disliked the ending because I felt like it turned into something unbelievable. But it didn't affect my enjoyment, so still, a great read for me. I look forward to more of this kind of books!

I recommend this to those who likes: B.B. Easton, apocalyptic dystopian, romantic fantasy, romantic suspense, and a happily ever after.

My one.
My Wes."

Trigger Warnings: Vivid depiction of murder and violence.

Do I sacrifice one life to save the others? Or sacrifice the others to save the one? My one.

This conclusion was everything I hoped it would be, S P E C T A C U L A R! It picks up exactly where the cliffhanger in the previous book left us. In such a short book, this last installment is adorned with outstanding character development, grit gore and glory of the apocalypse, and tons of feels.

“You’re like . . . post-apocalypse barbie now.”

I think the most striking aspect about the whole trilogy, besides the romance as it’s pretty much the main focus, is the character development. Wes was pretty much an ass in the first book, but he has principles. Rain was all sorts of messed up, whiny and clingy. In the second book, both were insecure and bitter.

I might be a sheep, I think. But this sheep is wearing wolf’s clothing.

In this one, however, they come back with a bang! Wes is such a sweetheart, and Rain, she is a badass. In the first two book we’ve seen Wes pretty much did everything he could for Rain. I love that in this book, it’s the other way around. Rain is fighting tooth and nail to save Wes from a certain doom.

When you fall in love at the end of the world, you live every day like it’s your last.

Overall, this is nothing short of beautiful. I only wish it’d been longer. I’m madly obsessed with this series and couldn’t get enough of these characters, this world, their love, and all the twists and turns. I would definitely recommend this trilogy. Just keep in mind that this is romance first and everything else second.

I have to say I was a bit scared to read this after the brutal cliffy at the end of book 2. So many possible scenarios were running tru my head, but I never once wanted to admit that this can end bad!
Gahhh, I was so frustrated for the first 30 pages, I really thought Rain is again useless and tstl , but this girl made a classy come back I might say!I was cheering her like crazy !

After we learn in the last book about the hoax that was designed to increase the global stress levels until the weakest members of society selfdestructed , our MC hav to deal with the new law too: no helping those in need or you get sentenced to death. Brutal I know !

As I was saying Rain really redeemed herself in this one. After Wes fought for her in book 1 and 2 now it's her time to fight for her man! good thing Wes prepared her to be strong and independent and she really did put those lessons to good use, she was resourceful and calculated.
I loved both of them and their love for eachother really felt genuine.

Some new characters made an appearance and some old ones too, some were on team Wes&Rain and some not so much.

Overall this was an enjoyable apocalyptic series , with a fast pacing writing that captivated me from the beginning and a dynamic new brutal world .

***5 "A fuckin' chaos!!!" stars***

“All I wanted to do was stay numb and die.
All Wes wanted was someone to help him survive.
But somehow, together, we figured out how to live.”

God, i needed this book so badly, especially after how the things were left in the previous book!!!
B.B. Easton knows how to make you lose your mind and craving for her every word...
I literally devoured this book and the ride even though full of bumps and obstacles was amazing and adventurous!!!!

"Wes presses his lips to the top of my head as my lungs finally run out of air, and it breaks me all the way.
Because I know this kiss.
I know all of his kisses. Wes is trying to comfort me.
But who's going to comfort him?"

Wes and Rain are such wonderful characters...
They are Fighters with a big F and they are proving themselves in here over and over again...
In the previous two books, Wes was fighting all the time for this girl that unexpectendly tumble into his life and she had become the world to him...
Now, he had decided that he is gonna sacrificed for her to live.
But what kind of life that will be for Rain without him in it???

"I was never meant to get the girl.
To have the happily ever after.
That's not how my world works, and this shit right here is proof."

And here comes Rain's turn to fight for Wes!!!!
Rain, for once again, is all alone in a house that used to be hers, but she had come to realize that her real home is Wes...
She just have to do something... Anything, but unfortunately there are things that keeping her away from him...
Thank God that Wes had forged her into a survivor and she is about to put these skills on action...

"What's the point of escaping when you have nowhere to go?
This used to be my home.
Then, Wes became my home.
And now... I'm just homeless."

God, this book was a constant race to the finish line and my heart was bumbing really hard all the time cause i needed something good in the end... 'Cause unfortunately, the things weren't seem really good for anyone in here, especially for Wes...
These two deserved something like happiness... But all this shitty storm, it became something so much more than just the two of them...

"He doesn't kiss me like our time is running out.
He kisses me like it's already up."

Well, honestly, i don't know what else i can share with you about this story...
I just want to say that this was a damn really good story... Different from the normal romance readings and that was the reason that made it so charming...
Rain and Wes are such an amazing characters and they got through too many shits in their lives...
Also, in here, we saw new characters... Some good, some bad...
But we also saw old characters... People that surprised me in good but also in very bad ways...
This series was a beautiful unexpected surprise for me and i wish for you, someday to meet Wes and Rain and to enter inside their world!!!

"That's the thing after April 23. When you fall in love at the end of the world, you live every day like it's your last."

Praying for Rain : 4 Stars
Fighting for Rain : 3 Stars
Dying for Rain : 3.75 Stars

I was debating between writing three reviews or just one, but then I was like this series is literally like one book, so why bother with three! Besides, I'm a lazy person! So I apologize in advance for this following messed-up review!

As a series, I give it 3.75 stars, and if I have to choose between these three books, I'll choose the first one. Don't get me wrong, in general, I enjoyed it, but I kind of expected more from it, because its idea, or rather how it started was so cool. My biggest issue was with the second book, but I'll talk more about it later!

So this series is about Rain and Wes, they found love while the world was ending! I adored them and how they fought for each other! What they've been through wasn't easy, I felt really bad for them, Wes with his past, and Rain and how devastated she was! But I was happy that they got the ending that they deserved!

Spoilers ahead:
Spoilers ahead:

Overall, it was an enjoyable read that I would recommend! The development of the main characters was wonderful, there is a big difference between how they were at the beginning of the series and how they became at its end. So yeah, I wanted something different from my usual read, and I found it!

I loved this trilogy from beginning to end. All three books made it into my favorites, each earning the spot in their own right. I especially enjoyed Rain’s evolution from lost girl to badass woman. She grew exponentially as life threw challenges at her and the result was utterly entertaining. Wes too experienced growth where his was a bit more subtle and in ways that made the contrast and range more impactful to the story arc.

The plot and premise of this series was refreshing and different from other stories I’ve read. With as many books as I read, that is no small feat. On top of what is happening physically, the books also delve deeper into the effects you don’t see as obviously in this type of setting, especially within its conclusion.

I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed reading these. I hope we continue to get more stories like this. BB is fast becoming a top favorite of mine.

5+ STARS.

Wow!!! Seriously Awesome
A nerve wracking story set in nervous and anxious times, BB takes us on a thrilling ride on her pillion seat. Not only is the story relevant in present times, it gives us a peek into a crystal ball to show us all the dreadful probabilities, warning us of the impending doom, if we don't change soon. Captivating like a train wreck, mesmerizing like imploding building and enthralling like a nuclear explosion
BB spreads the story and winds it up PERFECTLY

description

I fell in love with Wes and Rain in book 1, when their tender love had to run a gauntlet of emotions and exploding universe around them. The story progressed and in book 2 and their love goes through a rigorous test of time and insecurities.
I was so enamored by Rainbow, she matures and strengthens her personality with the surprising turn of events. Her characters grows, she her just comes to fore and her self reliance and assertiveness takes her to a new bad ass heights. Wes grows up and Owns his place in the universe.
Their togetherness tightens and falls in sync but the clutter they have to Wade through is thick and insurmountable, the fight is the hardest they've had to fight..
“All I wanted to do was stay numb and die. All Wes wanted was someone to help him survive. But somehow, together, we figured out how to live.”

description

Meanwhile the World is completely consumed in turmoil, broken down and totalitarian government has resorted to blatant mayhem and executions.
I shuddered at the virtual reality possibility and then realize, all around us, isn't it what's happening?.
I was shit scared how much this resembled our present times.
When darkness and terror cloaks the world like a threatening storm, it boils down to Sophie's Choice

description

Sacrifice one to save all or sacrifice all to save THE ONE!!
BB is a talented writer and her turn into dystopian world has me blindly following her just following her sure and capable footsteps into a virgin territory for me. Goes to show you cant keep a good author confined in a box!!
Only for BB I dived into this series blindfolded and I was bowled over. THE FEELS just clung to my skin like ash after apocalypse. Made me cry, made me swoon, made made me pine for them so strong, I didn't want the story to end!!

So here I am, frothing at the mouth for this baby, dying to see what becomes of this couple after I dove off the cliff that was Fighting for Rain. And I kid you not, I could not put this book down. If I didn't have to adult, I'm sure I would have had it done in about 3 hours. But also, if I'd done that, I might have been taken away in an ambulance due to how erratic my heart was racing as I devoured this book.

Rain's had it rough. After everything that happened BEFORE the end of the world, who wouldn't feel for the poor thing. But Wes taught her to be a survivor, and thank God he did. She needed every last bit of him building her up to make it through the last book, and it's not over yet.

If you've read this far, you know there were a host of new characters in the last book that are amazing and evoked ALL THE FEELS. You'll know there are some you wanted to wrap up in your arms and keep safe. And there are ones you probably wanted to throat-punch. Some you can forgive, some you want to burn in the bowels of Hell, and you think there's no way they could ever redeem themselves. Well, get ready to have those ideas tested, because at the end of the world, things aren't always what they seem.

I've never read anything like this series. I've never feared that my heart would pound its way right out of my chest like I did in the middle of this book. I've never pulled harder for a group of characters, hoping every last one of them, even the ones who were evil from head to toe, could make it through all the shtuff that was throw at them.

This book, this series, will forever be one of the best I've ever read.

*3.5 Stars- Overall Trilogy Rating*

Overall Opinion: This was a little better than the second book but not quite as good as the first for me. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of having a political message that ended up being a big part of this book. If I want to read a book about political views -- I'll read a political non-fiction book! I feel like it didn't need to go there and easily could've gone a different route just as effectively. Also, Mrs. Renshaw?! That was a little eye roll inducing for me. The ending could've been better as I would've liked to experience them getting their version of happy after all the drama. It was another one of those with the conflict (and this was a book long conflict!) was resolved right before the epilogue with no time in between. I needed much more!

*As a trilogy, I give it 3.5 stars which is kind of a bummer because the first book presented soooo much potential! It started with a bang but then fizzled out with the second book, and while it did pick up in the third -- it took a political turn that I'm not the biggest fan of and ended way too abruptly.

(Very) Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is the conclusion Rain and Wes' story. They are still fighting to survive after some pretty crazy and traumatic events. There are some suspenseful scenes, some sad moments, and a few sexy times...and they finally get a HEA ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Rain and Wes' POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, but they're in love when this book starts.

H (Hero) rating: 4 stars. Wes. I still liked him. He was in a pretty crummy situation for most of the book but I appreciated how his character traits didn't seem to waver because of it.

h (heroine) rating: 4 stars. Rain. I liked her much more in this one (especially towards the end). She was actually doing something to try to change her circumstances!

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Not really

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes (when they're together) -- but few and not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes, but only physically

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This has pretty good closure but I would've really liked to experience some more of the good times and them getting their new lives on track (especially after all the bad) before the end. I would still call this a HEA ending though

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

🎶 It's the end of the world as we know it 🎶 After the humongous cliffhanger from the last book, I had no idea how this couple would ever see a happy ending. People are being executed for doing good works. If you try to save a life - executed. If you try to prolong a life - executed. If you provide medicine - you guessed it... executed. Wes has been arrested for providing antibiotics to Quint, finally separating him from Rain when no one and nothing else could. The entire story is about the drama Rain has to deal with when she no longer has Wes to fix all of her problems and about Wes's inability to call it quits. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how these two would turn out. Would Rain finally figure out what she stood for? Would Wes come out on top like he always does? And just what does the future look like after all this mayhem? Read this series people!! I absolutely loved this ending and I only wish I could spend more time with that sexy man named Wes. With Dying for Rain, Easton concluded this trilogy with guts, glory, grit and tons of heart!

I love Wes and Rain, together. They are unfortunately apart for most of this story. It's odd to really like the characters in a book, but not the direction the story takes.

The never felt like a good plot line in the first place, and then it's brought back again in this story.

Although this started out promising, as we find Rain stuck in an impossible situation, I found it slowly lost its way as it progressed. I think it easily could have been 100 pages longer, allowing for some plot development instead of relying on 'lucky happenstance' and too many conveniences. It was still enjoyable - I liked Rain's character growth in particular, but this could have been even better and had more of an emotional impact if the deeper complexities and societal issues had been explored more.

Also, the fatphobia and dubious LGBTQ+ rep left a bad taste in my mouth.

I've never been good at writing reviews about books that I love. I doubt I will be able to start now. But I want to give it a shot, because I have NO IDEA why this series isn't 10x's more popular. I devoured this story in the same way as I did with the Hunger Games, Ms. Moning's Fever series, and the Downside Ghosts. I absolutely adored it, and this third and final book played a huge part in that.

"When you fall in love at the end of the world, you live every day like it's your last."

The transformation of Rainbow Williams and Wesson Parker from two lost and lonely souls to the battle-ready warriors we see in this book is truly spectacular. These two are going right into my vault of favorite MCs of all time. Their devotion to each other is beautiful and raw and brings out their own fierceness within themselves to accept that life is worth the fight. They were ruthless under the guise of saving each other, but they were really taking control of their own lives while doing so. I absolute!y adored them.

"Black hair. Boned out. Savage as fuck. You're like... Post-Apocalypse Barbie now."

The story takes a turn in this book that I'd imagine some people would find pretty unbelievable. But it worked for me on every level. The entire time I was worried that I was getting Mockingjay 2.0, where everything was going to come tumbling down and leave me a depressed mess for days. But this is Rain and Wes's story, and it gets its happily ever after.

I already miss them. For once in my life, I wish this series had those little .5 novellas where I can just follow them around for a few chapters as they do mundane shit. Moving a couch up some stairs, fucking up their first hosted Thanksgiving dinner, or spending a whole day in bed together. I'd read them all. (Especially that last one. These two were on fire when they were together. Hooo-lee shit.)

I'm just... I'm so happy I found this series.

4 out of 5 stars!

I blew through this overnight. This trilogy was an easy read, though the story touches heavy topics. Such as depression, abandonment, murders, suicide-murders, theft, rape, drug-addiction, and others.

If you want to read a book with a plot circling around an apocalypse and how it pushes the human race to lawlessness, destruction, and devastation, while all these told from the point of views of our imperfect hero and heroine who tries to find salvation within each other, and through this, tries to revert the chaos into order.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I really liked this trilogy!

This third book was a separate surviving journey for Wes and Rain, and that's not what I expected for the last book... At all.

But as the end of this post apocalyptic journey, and also the conclusion for the humanity after everything that happened, i really loved!

BB Easton created an amazing world with amazing characters and in the end? Everyone had a chance to show their real value!
(I still wanted Carter's mother to be dead though!) 😂😂😂

I'll definitely be reading other dystopian romances now!

Wow! What an epic conclusion to Wes and Rain's story! B.B. Easton really brought her A game, delivering a riveting and deeply emotional story that put my poor heart through the ringer. The emotion was so intense that I felt it everywhere. It's a tale that is packed with all the feels. It was more than perfect, and I more than loved it!

This post-apocalyptic world they now live in punishes the innocent rather than the criminals. Can you imagine getting sentenced to death simply for giving a friend a life-saving medication? Well, that's exactly the predicament that Wes finds himself in, leaving he and Rain absolutely heartbroken and devastated. Their love is put through the ultimate test. Will the two of them be able to walk away unscathed?

This is one of those series you'll savor and come back to time and time again. For me, it's a series that is permanently ingrained on my mind. One that will be with me always. I wouldn't just recommend this... I would say hurry and go one-click it now. It is a journey that is indescribably good and definitely one that you won't want to miss. Five stars for Rain, Wes and Dying for Rain.

I don’t think this was a bad book but the series didn’t go the way I thought it would so for me personally it wasn’t an enjoyable read and as much as I liked Wes and Rains relationship they spent so little time together throughout the books that it had me wanting more from them the connection just didn’t feel there and talk about the quickest ending ever! Throughout the book Rain has unbelievable luck and then bam! book is over and everything is solved in a year the world is basically back to normal

Dying for Rain was an ok read for me. I really enjoyed the Trilogy but I feel like book 3 wasn't necessary. I don't enjoy my main couple separated for most of the story and that's exactly what happens to Wes and Rain. The ending is wrapped up nicely with a sweet HEA. While I had some issues with this book overall I would definitely recommend this trilogy.

Can you say Deus ex machina? Scooby gang?

I think this finale could have been more masterfully crafted. It felt pretty goofy at times and I couldn't fully get into it due to my constant eye-rolling. The tone of this book felt quite different to the previous two books and as of right now I'm not sure how I feel about it. But overall despite it having a lot of elements I didn't love, it's an extremely entertaining and easy to get through trilogy!

When you fall in love at the end of the world, you live every day like it's your last.

Dying for Rain is the final instalment of the Rain Trilogy and thankfully it comes very soon after the second book, because let me tell you. That cliffhanger was E V I L !! However I was super intrigued to see how the story would develop and that kept me on my toes until the very end!

What I didn't like in this book? It felt too short and rushed, since it also ended around 84% and things seemed to have a fast pace. Not that I minded that, but I would have liked a more extended epilogue with more details about the aftermath of everything that happened.

What I liked? The character development, especially of the heroine. I didn't like her much on the previous book, she felt different than the person I remembered from the first book and finally she turned back to this and even better. Also, the other secondary characters and some new ones that we got to meet on this one.

I was never meant to get the girl. To have the happily ever after.

I felt so sorry about one of the characters and what happened to him, but honestly I expected these books to have a more doomed story with losses and just despair, so I'm not complaining about it. I really enjoyed this dystopian series by B.B. Easton and I hope she'll make more fictional stories!

5 Glorious Apocalyptic Stars!

Dying for Rain was not only everything I knew it would be; it was the perfect conclusion to this epic story of love and survival in a vividly gritty and broken world meant to tear everything beautiful within it down. I shed tears of sadness and of joy, and the expertly developed characters had me rooting for some while simultaneously seething with hate for others due to the emotions that BB Easton seems to evoke from her readers so easily. While I am sad that our journey with Wes and Rain has ended I find myself feeling fulfilled and sated knowing that in one way or another, love always prevails.
