DNF @ 52% - I can’t with this writing style. These characters are goofy and not particularly endearing.

Add Just One Ride to your bookshelf and get ready to meet Ayla and Kane!

I won't lie, this is a steamy one...my steamiest yet! 🔥🥵

Set in small town New Hampshire during the annual motorcycle week, Ayla is a sweet young local, but she also knows how to have a little fun. She works the annual event every year with her BFF, Cora. They work the beer tent and provide cold beverages to thirsty bikers while pulling in plenty of CA$H.

Kane is V.P. of the Lucifer's Savages MC and he's looking forward to another fun week with his brothers in N.H. at the annual rally. He's ready to relax with his boys, enjoying all the benefits the event has to offer. Ayla quickly catches his eye, but the ring on her finger keeps him at a distance while opening up old wounds he hasn't been ready to face.

Enjoy the heat between these two characters. It'll be a fun ride!

Pretty typical. I skimmed the second half. I’m not a fan of instalove. Can never buy it as a reason to…in this case, break off a long term relationship/engagement. I kinda lost interest. Sorry.

Wtf! I seriously hate when books are marketed as a standalone or at least a single book in series and it is clearly going to be a duet or trilogy. It’s my fault really. I should have checked other reviews first. I went in blind because the description on my FB group sounded so good. Ugh!!!!!! Ok…enough of my rant.

So this is a first time reading SM and I did enjoy it. The way the author describes Laconia Bike week is a bit mild but that’s ok. I still felt like I was there at some point. But there was just too much filler to this book. I was waiting for something…anything to happen that wasn’t set around Ayla working or sitting drinking at the bar with the MC. It had me skimming quite a bit of the book, honestly. But that ending???I’m probably going to read book 2 whenever it comes out because I want to know what happens with Kane and Ayla’s relationship.

This was my first read from Samantha Montague and won't be my last. I love a good mc biker romance and this one did not disappoint. I loved Kane and Ayla and I'm ready for part two of their love story. I had times where I was really annoyed with Kane but then I learned about his past and could understand. The only issue that I had with this was I have to wait until next year for part two of their story. I'll get over it though after all good things happen to those who wait!

While I wait for part two of this story I will start Samantha's other series. Really great romance!

I really didn’t like how Cora told all the bikers her “BFF’s” secrets.

She was a kinda crap friend from what I read. She (Cora) also slut shamed a lot, when if we’re being honest is what she acted like.

What a cliffhanger

What a whirlwind! Started off engaged to frat boy Ethan and ends up in a tryst with biker boy Kane. This book had angst, steamy sex and friendship. I loved that Cora was a ride or die friend and that Fifty was the same for Kane. Can't wait to read the next book.

A very good book

I love that this book was more about romance than violence
I just wish it wouldn’t of ended there and that it won’t be almost a year till the next ones released

I normally don’t read a series until they are complete!
This one ended on a cliff hanger. I can’t wait until the second book is out to see how Kane and Ayla’s story goes.

Cliffhanger ending!

No warning anywhere about this being a CLIFFHANGER!

Kane is a self centered male. Ayla is a spoiled brat who can't seem to understand that her so called husband to be, is just pulling her chain. Bike week happens in the home town of Ayla and her bff Cora. Typical goings on happen. Kane can't handle his feelings for Ayla, so he does what a typical self centered male does.

Nothing in this story makes me want to read the conclusion to their blah story.

I absolutely hate Cliffhanger endings.

I Just Found Myself A GREAT New Author To Read!!

I'm not sure how long I've been missing out on Samantha Montague's books, but I'm glad I found her so I can binge read all the books she has out! That's the joy of finding a new to you author you end up LOVING!

I really enjoyed reading the beginning of Kade and Ayla's love story and I'm ready to jump right into where they left off at in Book 1...WOW was that a doozy of a cliffhanger or what!? I guess there is a plus to finding Ms. Montague now and not 2 years ago when JUST ONE RIDE was written. Hahaha

Kade was amazing and I freaking loved him...90% of the time. The other 10% of the time he didn't know how to face his feelings so he pretty much didn't face Ayla so he could try to get around that. Well, we all know since this approach didn't work in high school it definitely would not work now that he's a badass grown man.

To be blatantly honest I should've probably marked this book as a 3 star, but I just couldn't. It's one of those books where I wish we could type in 3.6 stars instead of just a 3 or 4. Here's why: there were a few minor editing issues throughout the book, nothing major, and definitely nothing that's going to take away from your enjoyment of the book. Secondly, I could tell at the time she wrote this book she was probably young in her career, but honestly, this just made me enjoy the book that much more, because all I could think was "if Samantha Montague is this good an author at this point in her career... can you imagine how amazing she'll be after writing just 3-5 more books. Especially, if she uses a few really good Beta Readers helping her fine tune everything!" I'm so excited about where Ms. Montague's career is headed now.

The biggest reason JUST ONE RIDE deserved the 4 stars is because her secondary characters were The Absolute Bomb...I mean they were seriously FANTASTIC! I WANT MORE OF EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! I'm so glad to see she's already written Fifty's story, but we NEED you to write Ryder and Cora's story, too! I know you said you only planned on writing 3 books for the Lucifer Savage's MC Series but so what...things change...write Ryder and Cora's story, then Prospect Billy's story, then every other member of the MC. This group of guys is GOLDEN and their stories NEED TO be told and I for one cannot wait to read every last one of them!

Motorcycle club, heartbreak and groveling/redemption

Recap:
Kane is the VP of a motorcycle club from South Carolina and they have traveled to New Hampshire for a bike rally which Ayla is working as a bartender. It seems like love it first sight as he sees her across a bar and instantly is infatuated, same with the president of the club, Ryder and her best friend Cora. Cora and Ryder increased their desire for each other quickly, and it develops into something serious in which he eventually asked her to leave and move to South Carolina with him in which she agrees to start it for the summer, but we all know it’s good. The problem for Kane is that Ayla is engaged to someone else that lives in Boston and he has trauma with rings from an ex that he struggles to get over. As she gets to no Kane, Ayla figures out that her and Ethan‘s engagement is really just comfort from an old high school relationship and they truly shouldn’t be together. She breaks things off and ends up with Kane in bed, but she regrets nothing because they have a burning for one another. Ethan shows up at the bike rally where she’s working, drunk things to his friends, and starts to make a scene in which she realizes that they truly are not meant to be, and even her dad hears what Ethan says about her mom in which we learn that her mom is a former drug addict, abandon her and her dad. Due to Cane‘s past he constantly second-guess is what he’s feeling and get scared, and then he makes a mistake and tries to push her away in which she has another girl in his lap when she walks in and she pretty much verbally bitch slaps him and put him in his place, but this does cause her pain and as she walks away, 50, his best friend, is able to comfort her and help. He has to redeem himself again and they confess their deep feelings, and he tells her about his past, and she tells him about hers. The book ends with Cora, moving to South Carolina with Ryder and Kane leaves, but they stay together and over the next month they FaceTime and talk a lot. Ayla is at a check up and finds out she’s pregnant!

3.5 ⭐️ I actually loved this story. The writing was really good and the plot and storyline was great. The reason I’m only giving it 3.5 stars is because the main characters were so frustrating and pathetic.

The main FMC had no backbone or self-respect. He treated her appallingly, repeatedly and she just kept going back for more. She took him back with barely an apology and everything was good again - over and over again. She saw him hooking up with someone one night and then agreed to go out with him the following day. He slept with someone else and stood her up, but she was fine to sleep with him the following night. Then again, the next night he was doing other stuff with another chick and she forgave him and got back with him the next day. It was just ridiculous and made her look pathetic.

The MMC was an immature a$$hole. He ran away constantly and immediately hooked up with other chicks. He made no effort to deal with his problems, be faithful, change his ways or just be a mature adult. I wouldn’t have given him a second chance, let alone 20 “second” chances.

The FMC best friend … she was just a terrible friend. She was selfish and didn’t support her friend at all. She was on the MMC side from day one and was a terrible friend to the FMC because of that. She kept betraying her friend and giving the MMC inside info and help and convincing the FMC to go back to him.

Avid Reader's Surprise!😀

I read so many books that I don't usually leave a comment.
When someone reads more than one book at a time, it's hard to keep up.
As an avid reader I have thousands of books in my arsenal of all genres.

My main ones are paranormal, rockstar's and MC 's, even though I read most everything.
This is the first book I've read from this author though.!😊

I just had to leave one for this book one of this series because it is totally different from the normal MC Series I normally have read.

I enjoyed it immensely because it concentrated on the characters personally and not any rival clubs and a lot of violence.

So, even if it doesn't have a happy ending, and it does have some other MC violence at least you were along for the good times minus all the super bad fluff as you read much deeper into the book.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, and instead of reading more than one book at a time I'll just read one.!!!😋

Thank you

So I am half and half on this book. Meaning I read through this book in like two days, but it wasn't exciting. I was hoping there would be more action with this first book. Even with her fiancee not fighting for her... like four years, man, you were together for four year's you claimed to love he, but in the end, you just rolled over and was like 'ok fine we're done.' and the mmc bipolar much? like we get it, you had your heart broken, but you flip the switch so fast between hot and cold towards mfc but then are surprised when she tells you off. Like grow the f up, dude.

I, however, did enjoy the writing technique and how the author was consistent with everything. Hopeful that book two will have a bit more excitement.

Review for Just One Ride

From the very first page, Just One Ride pulled me in and didn’t let go. It had me feeling every single emotion—from heartbreak to hope, from tension to total swoon. The chemistry between the main couple, Ayla and Kane, was absolutely electric, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way. I laughed, I cried, and I fell completely in love—not just with the couple, but with the entire MC family. Each member added depth, loyalty, and heart that made the story unforgettable. This was more than just a romance—it was a ride I never wanted to end.

Good Story

This is a pretty good story, I really like the characters especially the Ayla. I love a strong, confident, yet vulnerable woman that refuses to be disrespected. It was refreshing. I liked that the author wrote it in both the male and female leads point of view. The only real criticism I have is that there a quite a few grammatical errors. Other than that , I recommend this story and will be starting book II as soon as I download it!

I won this book from a goodreads giveaway. It sounded good but there were quite a few problems. There are a ton of grammatical errors, which is very annoying while reading. I hated the way men spoke about women in this story. It was a pretty boring book and hard to get into. I’m being generous with two stars because I got intrigued with what happens next.

good mc romance

I really enjoyed this read and am excited to read book 2 to see what happens next in their story. I love an instant connection no matter how fast they fall. I wish he would have had to grovel some more but I also understand she’s never felt this way about anyone and before.

Off the charts!

Loved it! Characters, humour, spice, intensity and the plot at the end! Amazing. I loved reading Kane and Ayla's story, their instant attraction, growth and how they moved forward despite their pasts was great. Side Characters were great also. I'm excited to read book 2 for more of their journey.

I couldn't even finish this one. I got to 41% and not really much going on in the story besides the main love story. There was nothing in it that suggested it had to do with the motorcycle club or bikers. Disappointing.
