Brilliant, engaging, the format of staccato communiques was fascinating and added to the message rather than acting as a distraction. Want to find more by Hollander now.
An interesting book-length poem that discusses a lot of ciphers and slow spying missions. My copy was clearly used from a Cornell poetry seminar, now written-in and damaged, on its last legs since it was printed in the 1990s. Wonderfully lived-in in that regard. The poem was nice too, I got varying things from different sections of it, which waxed and waned in how much they felt like a first draft. I feel like you can get away with a lot more mistakes in 20th century publishing than 21st, is that just me? Anyway, espionage is pretty cool. This was a fun book, 7/10.
