Allow me to blast a ray of sunshine through the murky clouds hovering over agencies and marketing departments alike. If you’ve got talent, I can keep you from rolling an embarrassing string of gutter balls. Chew With Your Mind Open is here to make it make sense to the degree that advertising ever will. The politics. The personalities. The nonstop problems in need of smart and effective solutions.
Whether freelance or full-time, Cameron Day has been crafting ads and shape-shift brands for over thirty laps around the sun. That all sounds pretty fuckin’ boilerplate, so let’s try a different path.
Some would say Cameron was bat-shit nuts to follow his famous father into the ad racket.
A So-Cal slacker, skater, and all-around homework-hater, he was an uninspired student and a father of teen daughters’ worst nightmare: a bonehead with a van, a tank of gas, and no vocational master plan.
He did, however, possess an uncanny knack. He could talk his way into, and pretty much out of, just about anything.
And he somehow engineered a startling turnaround leveraging that solitary skill into a decent career as a writer, creative director, and lastly, a chief creative mentor.
Some people aren’t even sure what that last title means. Cam's not even 100% sure what it means. He asked for the title and dammit they gave it to him. So there he had it.
Given how much quality advice Cameron sponged from people like his father along his sometimes bumpy flight, he’s now ready to spill his guts and mentor-it-forward via curse words, war stories, and a ton of actionable advice that can keep those who follow him into the advertising abyss from rolling an embarrassing string of occupational gutter balls.
While his advice is far from guaranteed, it worked for him and a lot of other people, too.
Find out what that means via his Trilogy: The Advertising Survival Guides, Chew With Your Mind Open, Book one; Spittin' Chiclets, Book Two; and Stones & Sticks, Book Three.
Cameron hopes these words have just about talked you into buying the books. We'll just leave that here. www.IamCameronDay.com
