When Patrick Ryan met Dr. Monique Fleming, he felt an instant connection. She was beautiful, intelligent, and fun. Most importantly, she did not care that he was rich. She was the woman of his dreams. There was only one problem.Mo wasn't interested in anything serious. Her best friend Daphne and Patrick's brother Conor were married. She and Patrick would practically be family, and she didn't want any fallout if their relationship didn't work out. They agreed to be friends with benefits. They escorted each other to business events. It worked. Then a bet that started as a joke changed everything. This is a 20,000 word novella with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.This is a standalone story, but the main characters were introduced in Play and Go.
The book was ok but it had 2 of my pet peeves. First apart from Mo’s hazel eyes, I don’t know what she look like and 2/ a professional woman portrayed as selfish. I understand the demands of being a surgeon but at the end of her shift, she needs a real life to balance it all out. Her take me as I am with no compromise attitude was irritating. It’s one thing not to change your whole life when you just met, it’s another not to even spend the night after a whole year. Her rationale that he hated his dad so she didn’t need to offer emotional support was ridiculous. Basically she said at the beginning that Connor and Patrick were cocky and entitled but she was exactly the same.
For love of Family and Friends- Monique and Patrick
This was a great book and demonstrated the necessity of give and take in any relationship. With two bearing the load together it becomes manageable. BUT communication is key to any good relationship, which was the problem, in the beginning, with Mo and Patrick. Then factor in both of their fathers, one absent and one was overbearing and married younger women with no expectations from the marriage except arm candy. Nonetheless, Mo and Patrick finally put everything on the line, for love, and worked it out. With a half brother’s family, that includes a nephew, Trey, everything was right in their world.
I really enjoyed reading about Patrick and Mo's story. This was a beautiful story, and a short read. Patrick father was a piece of work, thank goodness for mothers he and his brother turned out very good as well as Mo. Loved Nate. I would absolutely recommend reading this book I don't think you will regret it. Great job Ms. Grey please keep these great stories coming, and thank you.👍🙏❤
So the book portrays. However, 25% in the book, the white male character described as brown hair, blue eyes, but no description of the female lead, like she was not important enough. This drives me crazy because the black heroine is often short changed - especially since we have a wide range of hues. Yet, none was good enough to use.
I don't understand the attraction these characters had for one another to get them in bed so fast. Just not a good book.
Mo and Patrick's story wasn't as good as the other stories. It was very generic and a little boring Patrick was a good guy, but had no personality and Mo was a workaholic with a little personality. This book is too slow and boring and will go on my do not read again list.
The story was nice and although short the time progression was well paced. The issue I had was there was no description of Mo except for her beauty yet his ex Amanda was described as a nice looking woman with chestnut hair and a ivory complexion. If not for the cover I would have no idea it was a bwwm romance. SMH do better Avery Grey.
I enjoyed the pace of the storyline. I loved the respect of the main characters for both of their careers and with each other by not competing or disrupting something that they love to do. I loved the outcome for their efforts.
I love it!!! This is amazing. It's, almost, love at first sight. I always say, "Love never fails." It's amazing. Avery Grey is a GREAT author. I'll be reading more of her books.
I was a little disappointed with this book. It did not compare to the first two and it was like reading an outline with a little detail to make chapters.
This was good, but not as good as book one. I love that the woman are strong and have good careers. It can be done. I will read something else by this author.
This is my third Avery Grey novel. She is becoming my One of my favorite authors. It was well written and I loved the storyline. I am anticipating her next installment!
