Be still my heart! It's still pounding an hour after finishing the book! The intrigue, the drama, the totally unexpected, blew my mind! The 1st book in this series was awesome, so well written and executed, I fell in love with each and every character. Ok, maybe not every character, some are classical "bad" guys, but they are brilliantly bad. What I didn't expect was for book 2 to surpass the awesomeness of 1st book, but boy oh boy, did it ever! I was taken up by a tornado of events and spat out on the other side, intact but with my heart in my throat! Ari's grief sends her into a spiral, allowing the darkness to take hold, as she withdraws more and more. Her friends are frantic with worry, as she fights the darkness internally. Yet she will not succumb to it. She is faced with an ancient enemy she thought was dead and she struggles to remain out of his clutches. When Zander reappears, Ari and her friends set of to find a city of legends, where her salvation lies. But when to they get there, all hell breaks loose! My oh my! What a plot, what a thrill, what a ride! So descriptive, the world building is wonderful, and as I said before, the characters wonderful, there was so many unpredictable happenings, that kept me totally unaware of my surroundings! I dare not give away any spoilers so, if you want to find out, you'll have to read the book! Suffice to say, it will have you gasping! Book 3 can't come soon enough!

This was an amazing read that from the moment that I started reading grabbed my attention and I had to keep reading until the last page was read. This book moves along at a perfect speed for the story, speeding up and slowing down as needed. The characters are amazing and you cannot help but fall in love with them. This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.

The darkness is trying to win. My poor heart. I’m heartbroken after that ending, the book was filled with so much angst.
Ari was heartbroken after the ending of book 1, so she spent most of the first half of the book, broken. When Zander came back, she found her will to fight the darkness hiding inside. I love Zander so much, and their connection even more so. Their love is so inspirational, you can feel their pain, love, and need they have for one another.
Finn gets a little lost (no spoilers) but he finds a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m so happy for him, he deserves it. The group finds more help along the way, in the form of the a few old friends. Plus a new connection to Ari’s past. I love the Vuks, and their protective nature.
The cliffhanger, Egh!!!! (Envision screaming, throwing kindle, and me pulling on my hair here.) So many emotions. I knew something was up; I was expected one of the things but the other I had an inkling, but it wasn’t what I was expecting.
I can’t wait to read book 3 and find out how they’re going to save the lost one, who wasn’t able to be saved, and hopefully the light will overcome the darkness!

This is the second book in the Waking the Divine trilogy, picking up right where the first book left off and taking us on yet another nail-biting, heart-pounding adventure!
In this book Elara is struggling with a darkness within her after her crazy ordeal at the Shay court. With the help of her closest friends, she embarks on a journey to the Lost City in hopes of purging the darkness before it takes over and destroys her and everyone she cares about.
This book has a bunch of twists I wasn’t expecting, and while the characters were dealing with some serious and stressful situations, there were a few pleasant surprises along the way!
I really enjoyed this second book of the series and I’m super excited for the next book! That cliffhanger ending definitely has my brain working overtime trying to figure out how it will all play out and coming up with a ton of different possible scenarios and outcomes! I can’t wait to find out exactly how the trilogy will end! ❤️

After the ending of Smoke and Shadow I was intrigued as to where Harper would take Elara's character. Zander is now the King of the Shay Court having no choice but to take up his father's position in order to protect Elara. Or so he thought for Elara is now plagued by the darkness, shadows trying to take her over. She has suffered and there seems to be no signs of this getting any better. Together with her faithful friends they must get to the Lost City of Elara will succumb.
I enjoyed reading more of this intricate world that Harper has written. I love all the characters Finn, Ryder, Serena and of course Zander and Elara. I also love the Vuk's and the extra characters we meet this time. I don't want to spoil it for people so much about them.
In true Harper style she could not finish this book without leaving it on a massive cliffhanger that left us screaming for more. I can't wait for the next book to come out for I am dying for answers to my questions.

Obsessed I Need More!!!
This was a fantastic follow up and there is still so much going on! I was captivated from the beginning to end this baby is packed full of drama, intrigue, the feels and things I never saw coming. Ari’s pain seriously was a gut punch and I could feel everything she was going through and my heart just broke for her. In her grief she is succumbing to the darkness but is also still trying to fight it with all that she is…Insert Zander gahhh these two really are everything. These two are truly meant for one another, two halves of a whole. This book is non-stop keep you guessing heart in your throat because you have no clue what’s around the corner! Then bam ur hit with that cliffhanger ending like WTF!!! Needless to say I absolutely need the next book ASAP!!!

Wow! Harper did it once again. Her debut book Smoke & Shadow had me completely hooked. Now with book 2 of the Divine Triology Feather & Flame, it definitely did not disappoint. The story carries on from where we were left on the epic cliffhanger in book 1. Elara is struggling with the darkness and Zander has taken over as King of the Shay Court. After book 1 it left you wondering where the story would go next and how the characters would develop.
Without spoiling anything, this is an absolute must read, the characters Harper has written are amazing and you can't help but love them (well most of them)
Once again we was left on an epic cliff hanger and I am totally waiting patiently for book three to get the answers I am so desperately needing.
If you haven't already read this series I would totally recommend you start it now!

This was a fantastic story! Ari in book 2 is fabulous. She isn’t as immature as in book 1. She is growing greatly and I throughly enjoyed her. I love the twists and turns throughout this book. It has you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. It has action, drama, suspense, and a lot of pain and happiness throughout. You can feel the characters pain and anguish that they are going through. It is an emotional journey that you can feel as you join them on their journey. It is extremely well written and the development of the characters are stunningly beautiful. I throughly enjoyed the story as it progresses. The ending was mind blowing as I didn’t expect it to happen the way it did. This is definitely a must read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is the second book in the Waking the Devine trilogy. This book starts off where the last ends with Zander as the King of the Shay court and sending Elara away thinking to protect her… Elara is struggling with the darkness that is inside her. The pain and anguish the characters feel are truly shown throughout as you join them on this intriguing journey. It’s also great to watch the characters growing more as time moves on. I do believe we have another author who enjoys to dangle us over the cliff at the end of every book she writes the evil woman! So be warned you will be desperate to get your hands on the next book when you’re through with this one!

Too many emotions to even list. Book 2 did not disappoint and left me saying Oh No She Didnt......
Book 2 was just as good if not better than Book 1. Each of the Character progressions were amazing. There were so many twists and turns, Some that I saw coming and some that I never saw. This book had everything, Suspense, Drama, Character Growth, Relationship building, Some steaminess and a huge cliffhanger that left me wanting more right now!! This is a Must Read book and I absolutely can not wait for the next book in the series!!

Ari has suffered a great loss and in her grief the darkness had penetrated her defences so now she is constantly battling to keep it at bay so it doesn’t take over completely.
I loved the new characters introduced and of course there is also more danger and new foes lurking around. The story was intense and had many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. This was a great read and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

family was a connection, not a last name or a blood-bound label
This story keeps getting more interesting. Elara, along with her friends and protectors, faces the darkness. The struggles and powers she unveils make her stronger with every step, except when the darkness invades. Morale is low. Her Kindred, Zander, is facing his own darkness. Will the Divine bring forth the light back to her world?

I found myself absolutely devouring Feather &Flame. My love for Elara and Zander grows with each new book. Their chemistry is hot af and so addictive. I love all of the characters even the evil ones because they are so intriguing. Another book and another freaking cliffhanger that has made my heart feel like it’s been in a blender.

What a great book and man I devoured it so fast, I couldn’t get enough, and Harper is such a great writer, she leaves you wanting more and more!!! The book keeps you hooked from beginning to end and everything happening so fast! I loved it and what a ride it was. I can’t wait for more!!!

wow what a story. We pick up where the last book ends and from the very start it’s full of heartbreaking moments. The mystery and suspense will keep you interested until the very last page. All the characters are amazing and you can’t help but fall in love them all. I was drawn into this magical world with a fantastic plotline, I cannot wait for the next book in this series

I think I loved this book more then the first and I absolutely loved the first book . Our poor girl has been put through the ringer and has lost her way a little trying to fight the darkness but when her honey boo co es back all bets are off . The cliffhanger ending really was something else .🤬🤯

Such an amazing story. This is the second book in the series and wow just as good as first book. Storyline and characters are fantastic. Especially Elara. Story is very well written. No spoilers here. Harper Shay blew my mind with this story. Definitely recommend.

WOW! So much drama! Every page just went deeper down the rabbit hole and I’m left going OMG at the end of that book. Elara and Zander just can’t catch a break and I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

Harper Shay builds literary worlds you simply want to move into and never leave. Regardless of whatever danger might lurk there, or evil awaits you, you can't help but want to be a part of the world she's crafted. It's rare to find an author that can pull me into a book and hold me captive, but she manages to do it every single time. Can't wait for the next adventure!
