Soulmates #2

Una voce amica

Rate this book

This book came highly recommended by friends, and while I liked it, I have reservations.

I'm thrilled that both MCs are Jewish and that Orthodox Judaism isn't painted in a terrible light. Orthodox Jews are conservative and frown upon homosexuality, but Oren's parents are wonderful people, and Oren's relationship with them, as well as with his sister, is one of my favorite parts of the book.

I also liked the close friendship Noah had with his brother Jeremy but was less sold on the dynamic between Noah and his mom, who pushed Noah into modeling from a very young age. Noah hated being a model but never said a word to his mother. He was attacked right when his career took off and never modeled again, but his mother never stopped trying to push him back into it. As a grown man and a psychologist, Noah really needed to listen to his own advice and tell her enough already.

In general, Noah's attack seemed to be brushed aside. At one point, he told Oren that the men who hurt him were caught, but that conversation was interrupted, and we never found out if the attackers were prosecuted.

The MCs fall in love quickly and there is no relationship drama. There's also quite a bit of steamy goodness, which I'm all for. I do kind of wish Oren had been more of a fumbling virgin; he seemed overly confident for a man who'd never done more than kiss anyone, much less had full-on naked sex with another man.

The biggest issue I had, however, was the OTT dialogue; everyone spoke in Big Pronouncements, and everything was so dramatic. All. The. Time. Whenever Oren used a Hebrew word, he would translate it into English in the sentence, even when talking to his Jewish parents: "Because I'm not following halacha, the laws." Who talks like that? You don't define words for people who speak the language!

I also snorted at the crazy vicious behavior of Oren's colleague Harlan, who was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Which is hilarious considering Harlan's a lawyer, a very bad lawyer, but still.

There are all kinds of assholes in the world, and I'm sure some hide in law firms, but the insane anti-Semitic, homophobic bullying was, again, too dramatic and too obvious. Where were all the other employees? Did no one else see that Harlan, the grandson of the founder, was coming to work drunk and high and harassing Oren (plus other associates, I'm sure)?

Oren was afraid to leave because of a bad recommendation, which really made no sense. He was an accomplished lawyer with an excellent education and experience. He could have found another job. Oren just seemed like the world's biggest pushover, and I hate doormat behavior.

Nevertheless, there was something sweet about this story that appealed to me. I love soulmate stories, and, considering I have given scathing reviews to Stevens' books in the past, this book was a glowing success.

This book isn't just about two men falling in love. It's about fear and hope, friends and family, but most of all, it's about finding out who you really are....

Noah is a former model, still struggeling with the aftermath of a brutal attack. He now works as a psychologist and he has a radioshow called "One Call Away". It's a show specifically for gay men, to ask questions and seek some advice.

Oren who is a lawyer,  has been raised by a very orthodox Jewish family. One day he decides to call the show (on a dare), pretending to be a gay man....the problem is, that he's not sure he is pretending...

tumblr_ms3ot42zCV1r8gsqgo2_250.gif (245×200)

These men start to talking and become friends.....friends with some major (sexual) chemistry. But Noah still has a wall up because of his attack and Oren is so afraid to come out to his family, in fear that they will shut him out.

It was very sweet, seeing these two opening up to one another and find what they really needed in each other.....love. They were also extremely HOT together !!

Who would have guessed one phone call, could change their lives so completely.

2.5 Hearts

I came for Seth. I didn't read the blurb. I'd never read anything by this author before. So I had no idea what was what. I know Ms. Stevens is super popular so hopefully I'm not going to get dragged for this. But...

We meet the Noah and Oren during, what turns out to be, a "prank" phone call to Noah's radio call in show. Oren is "posing" as a closeted gay man at the behest of his moronic, juvenile, idiotic, jackhole bosses. But the joke's on them because Oren actually is a closeted, gay man. I'll come back to idiots later.

A connection is formed during that phone call that defies explanation and this is what I kept circling back to. Insta relationships either work for me or they don't and in this case I never understood their connection, and so I couldn't let it go. As a reader I need to understand on some level especially when major life decisions, drastic changes and dramatic declarations start occurring. But it always falls back on this amorphous, intangible, all consuming connection that changed their lives forever.

I really tried to be down with this. I tried to tell that annoying voice that kept saying 'why, why, why, whyyyyy, WHY, WHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYY???' to shut her pie hole which worked for a minute till some other life altering decision was made due to THE CONNECTION and the face would reappear.

Oren is a good Jewish boy who loves his family with all his heart, supports them with his lawyering and believes that they will shun him if they learn his secret, so he's stepped away from his religion and thrown himself into work. Deeply in the closet, never been in love, so virgin, and convinced that he'll always be alone it was surprising and required reality suspension to believe the way he embraces Noah. There is some token resistance and angst but he makes some significant changes with relative ease. He also seems to be a seasoned veteran lickity split when it comes to all things gay sex.

Noah, now a psychologist, has his fair share of baggage from an attack which seemed to be fueled by jealousy over his modeling success and, subsequently, ended his modeling career. A godsend for Noah since he hated modeling but it's driven the wedge deeper between he and his mother. He's never addressed the pink elephant in the room where his mother is concerned and the attack itself left him with a host of body image issues. Yet again, I had to suspend reality when Oren's regard and magic peen seemed to cure Noah of those issues with a quickness.

The magic peen gets whipped out a lot, so loads of sexy times. They don't last very long but there are loads of them.

I've no idea how things would've worked out had a read this rather than listened to it, but the dialogue came across as exceptionally dramatic. OTT dramatic. Drama llama dramatic. Teenage dramatic. Dramatics are not my gig so... the face.

Those dramatics coupled with the frat house, persistently drunk or hungover, bullying, jackholery of Oren's boss drove me batshit. Harlan was so ridiculous... I can't even.

What I did like were the family dynamics of both of these men and the support that they receive from them and their friends. There are sweet and heartfelt moments between them that I enjoyed. Unfortunately they were usually followed by some... moments. That involved the face.

As far as Seth's narration, he delivered a nuanced and emotive performance like I knew he would. His somewhat subdued delivery matched the tone of the narrative. There were moments when his performance did affect me and I still marvel at the number of different accents he can do. However, even those moments and his performance weren't enough to overcome all the drawbacks, I'm sorry to say.

Recommend to instalove and hurt/comfort fans.

This book hit close to home to me. Oren and Noah touched my fragile heart in a way, only Micah from Memories of the heart can do. I think I always have a soft spot for people like Micah, Noah and Oren. Especially Oren, I know how much he love his traditional religious family, that’s why he did all he can to cope with that. But still he can’t stay. But admitting that he’s gay? That’s another story. That’s the problem with the traditional religion like Jewish (Oren is Jewish). Felice talked a lot about religion in this book, I think we have the same problem in the modern world, I’m Muslim and there’s no differences about my religion’s perspective of homosexual. Oren struggled with that. With family and at work. Then he found Noah and his radio show. Noah, who has his own demon to fight.

I loved the chemistry and the strong attraction between the two men since their first call. It’s just they can’t stop thinking about the call, and become addicted to each other. And I can feel how much Oren need Noah as much as Noah need Oren.

We also can ‘see’ the guys from Through Hell and Back in this book as cameos. Especially Dr. Tash and Asher! OMG Asher! I wouldn’t spoil you about this, because, well, you need to meet the guys…For you who haven’t read TH&B, don’t worry, this can be read as stand alone. But where have you been this time? Go read the series after this and meet all my favorite guys!

I read this book twice already, and I think I need more of Noah and Oren in the future, in Jeremy’s book maybe? Oh and I loved Jeremy, I NEED Jeremy in my life!!!!

Another New York City romance from Felice Stevens and another win for me. This one is a standalone, but the author manages to incorporate some very special people and places that her fans will be familiar with and happy to see. Both Oren and Noah are a little bit lost, a lot closed off and living lonely lives until one phone call changes both their paths.

Oren removed himself from his family’s Orthodox religion and home years ago. Although he is crushed with guilt over the secret he’s been keeping and the disappointment he has already caused, they are a loving and close family and Oren’s love for them has never changed. Growing up poor, Oren has done everything he can to land a high paying job that, while crushing his spirit and soul, allows him to help support his parents and sister.

As a teen, Noah was once an in-demand model, a life his mother had once aspired to have for herself. As much as Noah hated the life, he craved her love and felt that was the only way he could get it. When his modeling career came to an end, he threw himself into helping other people as a psychologist. It’s the life he knows he was always meant to live, but his mother’s refusal to acknowledge any success outside of modeling weighs heavily on him.

When Oren calls into Noah’s talk show, Noah is immediately taken by him after only hearing his voice. There is something in Oren’s story that tugs at him and he is desperate to make a connection and help Oren. Both men seem to have completely different lives, but they have so much more in common than they can imagine. Noah may not be able to take his own advice and deal with his problems, but he is determined to help Oren change his life. It’s easy to feel for Oren from the start, but, behind his turmoil is a force of nature that throws Noah’s life into an upheaval that he never expected. Noah’s walls are thicker and higher than Oren expected from the man who outwardly seems to have it all together, but Oren is determined to get through and give back everything that Noah has given him.

There is an immediate attraction between Noah and Oren, but this is a slow burn. Oren has repressed his sexuality, trying for the sake of his family to live up to expectations, but he has always known he is not attracted to women. Noah ignites something in him and he finally realizes he can’t go on pretending. Noah tries to keep a distance under the auspice of him acting as a therapist to Oren, but he soon finds a way to work that out and then there’s no stopping the passion from flaring between them. Sure it’s tempered by Oren’s occasional feelings of guilt and shame but the men talk things out and lean on each other for support and when Oren finally starts to accept himself he is not shy about getting what he wants. The two men had great chemistry and melted my heart whether it was with sweet confessions or smoking hot sex.

I’ve said it before that Felice Stevens always places an importance on family relationships in her books and this one is no exception. The family dynamics aren’t always perfect and here both men have trouble communicating with loved ones and have put themselves in a situation where they put their family first regardless of the impact on their own lives. This is to me the biggest thing the men each had to overcome. There was tension and some tears as both Oren and Noah eventually face their biggest fears while holding their breath that the family the love so dearly won’t walk away. You’ll probably have a tear in your eye at least once during these moments so have a tissue handy.

If you’re a fan of the author or looking to try one of her stories, I can easily recommend One Call Away. It has everything I’ve come to expect from her books including romance, laughs, plenty of feels, and two men who just need to find that one person that understands them like nobody else ever could.

It was all chaos in my head until I met you, and now nothing makes sense without you. Because not being with you doesn’t work for me anymore...

Oren

From an early age, Oren sensed he might be different from the other boys he went to school with but didn’t understand why.

With his Jews Orthodox family and the pressures from his workplace made Oren feels caught in the middle...
And he need to 'breathe'...

Meeting Noah had changed his world. Oren decided right then he could never go back into the darkness. He needed Noah, though, to show him how to walk his path.

But Noah has his own baggage and the ghost that haunted him from the past. Oren know that Noah needed someone to fill him up again with beauty and a sense of worth after what had happened in his life. And Oren wanted to be that man...

And who knew that one call he thought at first as a joke could changed his life...forever...

Something about you, your voice…You had me hooked from the first call...

Noah

After brutally attacked that traumatized him, Noah decided to leave his modeling live behind and guarded his privacy well, behind thick walls.
Noah had made sure to keep everyone at arm’s distance.

For years he'd believe that he'll spent the rest of his life alone and lonely. But then by one call from a stranger on his radio show, he start to 'feel' again...

Like a magnet, Oren pulled him in from the start. Noah couldn’t walk away from him even if he wanted. And Noah didn’t want to...

Will these two broken men finally found their happiness?

This beautiful journey of healing and finding love began with just one little phone call...

***

This probably the longest read I ever did in 2017!

No, it's not because the story was that bad.
No, it's not because its boring or else.

It's purely because I DON'T WANT THE STORY TO END!

I keep going back to the previous page (or CHAPTER!!!) and read it again because I don't want the feel to end. But at the same time, I want to know what happens next!

I have HUGE expectations when the author revealed her idea for her newest project she's about to do back then. And my curiosity grew deeper since that day. And when it finally out, it excited me even more...

The chemistry between Noah & Oren strongly felt right from the first call and continuously wrapped the whole story to the end.

One Call Away definitely one of the sweetest read I have this year! It's beautifully written, heartwarming with low angst (even still there's a time I want to slapped someone face so many times! Lol!), full of love and made me wanna hug and cuddled with someone.

Oren & Noah story will forever linger in my heart!

There will be surprise 'crossover' characters from Felice's others books that excited and curious me for more, because I haven't read that series...yet. And now I need to read their story & 'meet' them in person!

Last, but not least...

I NEED Jeremy's story like NOW!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A TOP PICK FOR 2017
5 Heartwarming stars
One call away by Felice Stevens is perfection. I fell madly in love with Oren & Noah. Their stories tugged at my heart... Both seem to have it all. Striving careers and wonderful families, but deep down they are so lost and lonely. Two people with such pure and gentle hearts. They put everyone else before themselves. They are truly selfless. When they meet it's two souls becoming one. They compliment and complete each other....

What does a nonpracticing Orthodox Jewish lawyer and a formal model now therapist turned radio host have in common?? More then they know. One drunken night, because of a dare, Oren calls Noah's radio show. Little did they know one call would change their lives...

Oren always knew he was different, but being raised by a very religious orthodox Jewish family, he repressed his feelings. Not wanting to shame or disappoint them. His biggesr fear is losing their love. He did however leave his oppressive and strict community in search of a freer life.... Even after leaving, he still hiding his true self and living a life in anguish. All he does is focus on his career and put everyone else's needs before his own. Then one call to Noah has him questioning everything..... I loved everything about Oren. He is just a wonderful human being! My heart hurt for him. I loved his interaction with his family. I felt how much he truly loved them.

Noah was a successful model from an early age. Living his mother's dream not his own. His career ended after he was brutally attacked. He was left scared on the outside, as well as the inside. He now devotes his life to his patients and his radio show. His show is geared towards the LGBT community and helping them with whatever issues they may have.... I loved Noah's empathy and compassion. He cares deeply for everyone around him. Between both these boys, I couldn't decide who I loved more. So sweet and inspiring!!

When Oren calls into Noah's show, something about him calls to Noah. An immediate connection. After a few calls and eventually a meeting, they form beautiful friendship. I adored the way they helped each other... Trying to take it slow, but neither can deny their attraction and growing feelings. Once things heated up, holy hotness! They were burning up the pages, besides their electric chemistry, their relationship was build on devotion and trust....
This is a story about when two halves become a whole. True soul mates. A MUST READ.

Felice Stevens did it again. What a beautiful story that combines not only finding true love, but the uncertainty and angst of coming out to family members and co-workers.
Oren (love his name) comes from an Orthodox Jewish family where traditions and respect run deep. Although he no longer lives in their world, Oren's biggest fear would be his parents shunning him and no longer accepting him into their home. If that wasn't nerve-wracking enough, his job at a prestious law firm has the potential to be jeopardized due to the bigots who run the show and call the shots. It seems that every corner of Oren's life is filled with worry of constantly trying to do the right thing. My heart broke for this kind, giving man who puts himself last in line before all others.

Noah's whole life consists of helping others. Whether it's his successful radio show or his practice (he's a psychologist), his devotion to his patients and his callers take precedent while he puts himself on his own back burner. Believe me, Noah has some sizable issues as well.
See something in common here?

One call to Noah's talk show is all it takes for these two men to have their world's collide. All the while Noah is steering Oren through unchartered waters with his sexuality and helping him keep his head together, Oren surprisingly becomes Noah's safe haven as well.

Both men are so naturally giving that they can't help but to be drawn to one another. I love how Noah brings Oren to the LGBTQ clinic where we run into Ash, Drew, and a couple of our old friends.

In true Felice Stevens form, don't think you'll get away with reading this treasure without a box of tissues. Their struggle, individually, is heart wrenching and real. Oren and Noah are one of the sweetest couples of all her books, yet ... there was plenty of hotness between the sheets with these two!

One Call Away is definitely family oriented with a heavy dose of support from good friends. But the main message spoken here is that no one should have to go through life's trials and tribulations feeling that they're not good enough to put their own best interests first. Everyone deserves to be treated with love and respect, especially those who dedicate their lives to helping others. How beautiful it is when Oren and Noah find their own true love, realizing they are each other's best interest—nothing comes before their own happiness.

“I want you too. Every minute of every hour. Every day and night. One season into the next. Always.” ~ Noah

Everything about this story moved me: I fell so in love with Noah and Oren; the description and explanations of Yiddish/Hebrew terms helped make the storyline more colorful and authentic, and all the feels were there, carefully wrapped up in a brown paper bag filled with lox and bagels. Five stars for me. I was given this ARC for an honest review, and honest it certainly is.

This is the kind of story I read romance for. It has all the feels I look for in a great read. Noah and Oren are such a sweet couple. I think of a bird first learning to fly and falling in love with it. How Oren grows to not only love Noah but himself as well. There were points that brought me to tears both the good and bad kind. The emotion flows so smoothly that I actually felt the tension and nervousness. From that first call, you will find yourself falling in love with Oren and Noah. Plus, I learned a bit more on a culture that I thought I had a good grasp of. This book is a perfect example of why I love reading Felice Steven's work.

Very good read about overcoming one's own fears, standing up for yourself, and being true to yourself. Work drama, family expectations, and religious beliefs shouldn't stop you from living a fulfilling/happy life.
Noah and Oren find comfort/healing in each other in this sweet HEA.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is a very enjoyable read - in which both leads have to learn how to allow themselves to be happy. It is not an easy journey, as they are both living the life they feel they ought to, rather than the one they want, weighed down by both expectation and an inner voice of guilt. Whilst they are very different, the result is startling in its similarity, and I loved how they champion each other.

It is also an intensely sensual read, which may need an iced drink or fan to be at hand! Oren's passion for Noah is only matched by Noah's for him. And yet there is also a healthy dose of humour and fun in their burgeoning relationship. There are some fabulous side characters too - and if another book were to follow this group of people, there would be a few who could take the spotlight.

Beautifully written, and both sexy and serious, this is another hit from Ms Stevens.

”I’ve been alone all my life because I thought I’d never have the choice to be who I really was“

When I started reading this book I will admit to having some flash-backs to Sleepless in Seattle. Fortunately the only similarity is connecting to someone over the airways, so I didn’t mind.

This is a beautiful, slow-burn book where the romance isn’t the focal point of the plot. It is always there in the background, but even more importantly; this book is all about trust, self-discovery and growth, being true to who you are and to stand up for who you are, who you love and what you want.

It’s real. You can feel the struggles both Noah and Oren are going through. They each battle their own fears, past and present, and I just loved how they were there for each other, supported each other with unwavering love. To find the beauty in the where you only ever saw ugly. To believe in a future. To live.

”Because of you, I’ve learned to accept and want to be who I am. Because of you, I’ve been able to admit what I want and who I am and who I want to love.”

Slow going at first but I truly love how this author made everything come together. I started this book because I wanted to learn about Harlen who is in the Man-Up series but I enjoyed this book so much I’ve gone on to listen to the next book. I wanted to read about Noah’s brother Jeremy and his ex boyfriend Blake who had left him. I love how this author manages to intermingle her characters from other series 👍 as I’m reading I get excited because I feel like it’s old friends coming back for a surprise visit 🎉. 🥰

This is a story about Noah and Oren. Felice can sure tell a story about opposites attract . I was drawn into the story from the very first paragraph . Noah was a model who found out the hard way that the life wasn't meant for him. Noah chose to move on with his life and become a psychologist . His new goal in life was to help gay men find their way. He starts a radio program where people can call to ask his advice. The program is called One Call Away. We learn that Noah gives advice but will not take any for himself . He was hurt before trying to find true love and as of now refuses to try again .
Oren is from a Jewish Orthodox family who has decided to not follow the religion and find his own way. He becomes a lawyer and moves to the city to start a new life . One night a co worker dares him to call the radio show and act like a gay man with a problem. Oren does and when he talks to Noah he feels bad for deceiving him. He then calls back later to apologize. Oren is lonely and really does feel like he is a gay man with no way to come out at work or to his family. From the first conversation Noah has with Oren he hears something in his voice that Noah can't let go. He hears the confusion and loneliness Oren has and Noah want to help.  Oren and Noah become friends and from the very beginning you can feel the spark between them . They are so much alike that they really do compliment each other .
I love the way Felice wrote the story . Oren was so afraid to come out to his family and feel the rejection that he just couldn't do it . Noah was such a help to him from the very beginning that you can tell when Oren starts to live again . Noah introduces Oren to other happy gay couples so he can see that there really is a no shame because of who he is. Oren's family was wonderful, you can tell from the start that they love their son completely.
Throughout the story both men opened up their hearts to each other and it was beautiful to read . In the end two lonely men who were destined to be together find true love . You have to read the story because it was beautifully written and I really could not put it down from the very beginning . The ending will make you smile .

One Call Away by Felice Stevens is a beautiful, touching story. A story about finding one's true love and the pain and agony of coming out to your family members. Oren and Noah are two men who made me fall in love with them from the very first page. Felice did a beautiful job writing their story and the ending was just perfect. Oren and Noah's journey was emotional and beautiful to see how they both overcame their struggles.

Oren is from a Orthodox Jewish family, where family, traditions, respect, are all in important, Oren is out on his own. He's living his life but deep down he's really hiding who is truly is. Oren fears if he reveals his true self, his parents would no longer love him and disown him. To add more stress to his life he works for a prominent law firm, a job he desperately needs, unfortunately for Oren the imbeciles who run the firm are bigots and don't make things easy for him. He fears for so much in his life it's an every day battle for him. He has kept himself hidden from the world and is petrified to come out. Oh how my heart broke for him, I just wanted to give him a big hug. Can one drunken night change Oren's life forever? He places a call to a radio show, One Call Away a relationship advice show catering exclusively to gay men.

Noah used to be world famous model until something devastating happened to him, he moved on from that life and set out helping people and became a psychologist. He set up a radio show One Call Away where gay men like him can speak freely, seek advice without being judged. Noah is extremely devoted to his patients and callers that is his number one priority, his own life and happiness comes in second, deep down he struggles with demons from his past. Will that one call from Oren be the one that will completely change his life forever? You'll have to read it for yourself you will not be disappointed!

3.5 stars rounded up.

One Call Away is the story of Noah and Oren, two men from different backgrounds, each with their own baggage and struggles, and how they overcome all the obstacles life throws at them. Neither is really looking for a relationship, each has their own reasons for being alone. Noah is still reeling from a bad breakup and isn't sure he can trust again. Oren is struggling with reconciling his homosexuality with his strict Orthodox Jewish upbringing. But they discover that facing the world together is better than the loneliness they've been living in.

This was a pretty straight-forward book, low angst, just a sweet story of Noah and Oren finding their way to happiness. The characters were great; I was particularly enthralled by Oren and his family. His mother, father and sister were very well-written; his sweet dad stole every scene he was in IMO. Noah's brother Jeremy was another great side character. He has a side plot going with his own relationship struggles and I found myself just as invested in his love life as Noah and Oren's. I'd have liked to see him get more page time.

What didn't quite work as well for me was how OTT some of the side characters/storylines were, as well as the anti-climactic conclusions to certain storylines. There was the opportunity for a lot more angst and heartache. One Call Away deals with a lot of heavy topics, such as religion, assault, bullying and more. The story ends with a pretty HEA bow on top but I felt it just a little lacking... I wish the story had just a bit more grit to it.

This book has been a journey for Ms. Stevens. A year we have heard little bits here and there about these two men and when you read this and trust me, you will want to read it, you will see why.
Noah, a once up & coming model - attacked and scarred both physically & emotionally, coming to terms with his new life but still missing that piece that will complete him. During one of his radio show spots, a mysterious man call and sounds so lost and confused, Noah wants to help but after he hangs up and no name left, Noah is left wondering until he calls back.
Oren - brought up in a very strict Jewish home, he feels as he is suffocating and the stress of his secret, working at a law firm and disappointing his parents begins pulling him in too many directions that he feels lost til he calls Noah's radio show as a prank and hangs up. But he felt something from the voice that spoke to him even if he was just thru the radio waves.
Ms. Stevens takes us on a journey with these two, one of acceptance, learning to love yourself first but remain open to the possibility there is someone out there who will make you become a better person. She has a unique way of giving us the most broken ones and thru her style of story telling mends them even the ones who feel unrepairable.

In “One Call Away” we meet up with two broken souls, hiding behind a façade. To the rest of the world they are successful and have everything but behind it all they are both running from themselves.

Oren is running from who he is until one fateful night when he calls into Noah’s radio talk show. They both immediately feel a pull towards each other. Oren’s religion causes him to question not only who he is but the impact his coming out will have on his family.

Noah helps Oren navigate these questions and, in so doing, realizes that he himself hasn’t been listening to his own advice. Noah has been hurt in the past and has been hiding from the world, unwilling to open up to those around him and take a chance. Oren is his Bashert, his destiny.

Oren and Noah help each other navigate the process of opening themselves to a world full of love despite whatever obstacles are in place. In the end, they find their happiness together.

After an attack ended his modeling career, Noah Straus is determined to help others, while still struggling with his past. Being brought up in a strict Orthodox Jewish family made it so that Oren Leavitt felt that he had to hide how he felt. One phone call changed everything. Will Noah be able over come his scars, inside and out? Will Oren be able to admit to his family how he feels?

Loved this book! I love how Noah admitted upfront that he struggled even though he handed out advice. Oren showed great strides in coming to turns with who he was once he admitted it to himself! Both helped each other to heal and loved how despite how the possibilities were slim, they stood by each other no matter what! Great book and will definitely add this author to my TBR!

This book is just that good!! It’s no secret Ms. Stevens is an auto buy for me, and this book is just another example of why. I love romance, broken boys, gut feels (a few tears), schmexy times and HEA’s. One Call Away ticks all of my boxes and then some. Noah and Oren are not outwardly broken boys, but inwardly they are both struggling. Through circumstances, they find their way to each other and from there, the story blossoms. The writing is superb, and you may even be surprised to learn a few things as you participate in their journey. You will fall in love with these boys. If you love all of the qualities in a book that I do, then you absolutely must read this book! In fact, you must read all of her books/series as I promise, you will never ever be disappointed!!!

Really enjoyed this book. Oren is pressured into making a joke phone call to a gay relationship radio show.
He connects with Dr Noah. Noah is recovering from a relationship a year ago and Oren is not out.
I liked seeing Oren coming to grips with his life. His work and coming out to his parents. His was an Orthodox Jewish family. I learned a lot from this book. Things that I never thought about.
Noah too wasn't without his demons. In the end though they managed to get it together. A nice book with little to no angst.

Felice Stevens writes another amazing book....she's brilliant....

I was trapped from the first chapter. This book brings everything sadness, warmth, acceptance and most of all love it sends a message if you love yourself you will have the courage to do anything you want.

Oren struggles of who is because of his religion and beliefs it was so beautiful to watch this man grow from a shy sad man to the beautiful and confident man he became.

Noah knows who is but he was hurt in such a way he became lonely and had a wall you couldn't tear down.

Felice has written another beautiful story that you can't put down
