Connor is a Art thief and he is trying to climb the ladder in the criminal organization. He is assigned a job as a security guard to steal ‘The Black Rose “painting… this is more or less a basic smash and grab job. something Connor doesn’t enjoy doing

These two cross paths and their life’s will never be the same again
I absolutely adore Poppy’s character! For the first time in a long time, I was probably more loyal to the heroine in a book than the hero. Don’t get me wrong... Connor is totally swoon-worthy but Poppy is kind, fiercely strong and absolutely adorable in that quirky humorous way. She’s the perfect example of what I look for in a heroine!

Way over-the-top trash talk, sexual innuendoes, etc., etc. Far from believable! I could go on and on, but it's not worthy of my time or energy to rant and rave. I thought it might be a cute and sexy rom-com from the blurb - but it was just too-too much of the vulgarity and silliness and not enough story and meaningful character building. It was just a hair short of being a DNF -- but I am not a quitter -- definitely a skimmer when the moment calls for it. I've read five books by this author now -- one got three stars and the others each received two stars. I think it's time to give up the ship and just say Landish's books just aren't working for me.

I thought the cover was adorable -- and from the book blurb I expected some sexiness and laughter, but not one line after another of porn!

Steamy fun

Light and steamy with a side of action, I'd describe the plot of this rom com as "quirky romance writer is thirsty for a bad boy." lol, our heroine doesn't seem to mind all of the red flags popping up around her guy - even when he warns her away (repeatedly). It's low angst and sexy, with a unique storyline that worked for me. I loved the unpredictability, and I loved this semi-reformed bad boy. It's not one of my favorites from Landish, but makes a fun, lighthearted read.

The story follows Poppy, a romance author who is struggling with a case of writer's block. When her laptop is stolen - with her unfinished manuscript on the hard drive - Poppy's career is threatened. So when the sexy "security guard" who stole it moves in next door, Poppy is quick to confront him. Connor has never claimed to be a good guy, but he can't seem to stay away from Poppy. The two soon find themselves in a one-day fake relationship, which develops into more. But Connor is keeping secrets, and they threaten to derail any future that might be in front of them.

I would say that I liked this one, but I never loved it. It starts off pretty slow - we're introduced to Poppy, whose bubbly personality and personal hygiene struggles were off-putting for me. She also feels a little desperate, and none of the warning signs about Connor threw her off. Granted, I liked him too, but it was a bit much at times. Things definitely improved when Connor was front and center, and I really enjoyed the thief storyline. The action, adventure, and secrets steal the show - this would probably be a 3-star read for me, based on the romance alone. It doesn't stand out as one of my favorites from the author, but it was a fun and steamy read all the same.

One Day Fiance was an easy book to dive into. It also doesn't hurt that it was available on Kindle Unlimited either. In it, you will meet Connor and Poppy. She is a writing struggling to write her sequel. While he is a thief in the night. Well, I mean.. in the day time too but just know that he is a rebel and a thief.

The way they meet was kind of hilarious. He end ups stealing her laptop one day and her mysterious neighbor the next. I laughed when she instantly realized who he was and then started attacking him for taking her previous laptop. From there, they went on an adventure to find out what actually happened to her laptop.

Oh and on top of all this craziness.. she's pretending to be his fiancé. Which, yes, is the cherry on top of this mess.

Along the way, it's pretty obvious how much these two like one another. They have great chemistry and sexual tension. Plus they made me laugh a lot due to how crazy they just were. Crazy protective and hilarious.

In the end, I'm glad that they saved her laptop, she wrote her book, and they got their little HEA.

What the Connor just happened?! You guys, this book. You've got a spitfire heroine, a growly reluctant hero, a hilarious fake fiancee slip, and so many funny, steamy, gasp out loud moments. This just might be Lauren's best rom com yet and she always has the bar set oh-so-high! Come for the steam, stay for the banter, and fall in love with this book. Poppy is a romance writer working on her second book when her bag with her laptop is stolen by art thief Connor. When she reports the bag and laptop stolen no one takes her seriously at the police station. Connor in need of a place to hide out ends up as Poppy’s neighbor and when she recognizes him as the person she believes stole her laptop he agrees to help her get it back while she tells his mother that she is his fiancé and agrees to attend a dinner with him as well as his sister’s wedding. The two of them fall for each other and Connor is shocked he found someone as unique as Poppy who falls for him knowing that he is a thief and seems to accept him.
This book was funny and fun and Poppy was crazy and exciting in the best way possible. She was very quirky and off the wall and mostly fun but sometimes a bit annoying. Connor was the perfect broody misunderstood hero and I really thought he and Poppy balanced each other out. I’m glad that the two of them always seemed to accept each other even through the many twists and turns in the book.

There was so much more going on in this story than I was expecting…and I loved it! Poppy is such a fun character and I really enjoyed the fact that she’s an author working on her second romance book. It just made the story feel believable.

This book was delightfully fun! Swoon and sparks are combined with plenty of laughs and feels to create a read that if I may say so, is the perfect way to get your read on. Poppy and Connor are such incredible characters that I dare you not to fall in love with...Go ahead, I dare you. If you mange not to you are a lot tougher than I am. I thought that Poppy's fierce sassiness was the absolutely perfect foil for Connor's sleek coolness and together these two were incendiary!!! The story itself was smartly crafted, nicely paced and a pure joy to read. This rollicking, romantic romp was a true treat!! This is my volitional, forthright review.

This is a romance story that also has suspense with an art thief and a romance author. Connor grew up looking for approval from his parents, never getting it so he starts stealing and is caught which according to his family sends him down the wrong road and the black sheep of the family. While on a job he saves Poppy from falling flat on her face. These make eyes at one another and after Connor makes his move for his item Poppy is forgotten. Poppy has her lab top stolen and does everything she can to get the police to listen to her. When Poppy has a new neighbor she tackles him knowing it’s the guy who stole her lab top. Connor feels bad and does what he can to help her recover it so she can finish her 2nd story which is coming up on a deadline. Their journey is one that has Connor grunting, rolling his eyes and realizing that Poppy is exactly what he needs in his life! Poppy lives in the moment and says things that are hilarious and off the wall that has Connor shaking his head. The crazy situations they find themselves in will have you laughing and wishing them nothing but happiness. Poppy shows Connor what it means to have someone have your back so when his family does what they do she gives it to them with her words and it just perfect! You will absolutely enjoy this beautiful story and Connor and Poppy’s characters I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
Connor is a young man from a wealthy family, a family that has completely turned their back on him. They believe that he is a con artist/thief, and refer to him as “the black sheep” of the family. In truth he is a thief with hidden secrets. In the process of stealing an expensive painting, he meets Poppy.
Poppy is a struggling romance writer, attempting to deal with writers block. She meets Connor while she is attending a meet and greet for a famous author. Connor inadvertently steals Poppy’s laptop, then moves in next door to her. She goes crazy and attacks Connor, accusing him of stealing her lab top. He feels sorry for having stolen her property, which included her manuscript, so he attempts to help her find her property.
Various occurrences cause a slow finding of Poppy’s property, but in the meantime, Connor and Poppy begin a close relationship. This relationship becomes complicated when his family is involved.
After many obstacles are conquered, Connor reveals all his truths, he fights to get, and keep his love, and relationship between him and Poppy. Truths are also revealed to his family with success. Eventually the couple reach their HEA, and the story ends beautifully.
I’ve read several books written by Lauren Landish, and I’ve loved each one. They are always well written with a beautiful romantic story, and great characters. I will always recommend her books.

I couldn’t put down this read nor stop chuckling or laughing out loud at Poppy’s antics and what came out of her mouth. She was a hoot and with Connor, the stoic, glaring, scowling man who tries his hardest to get rid of her.... he can’t resist either.
Poppy is a romance author, trying her hardest to finish her second book after her best seller, but has writer’s block. Connor is a thief with a complicated past and accidentally steals Poppy’s computer at a conference. Not only that, she remembers him and now he is her next door neighbour while he lays low for awhile. An epic second encounter on the lawn and all the mishaps as Connor helps Poppy retrieve her computer....are not to be missed.
Loved this read, the humour, the banter, the steam, the twists and turns and surprises and of course the ending...loved it!! I really enjoyed these two and the little to no drama between them, add in the laughs and the sparks, as well as the ending....a new favorite for me from this author!!

I don't know how Ms. Landish does it every time she publishes a new book .... Once again, she has outdone herself with this feel-good story that will have you laughing out loud and slapping your knees! Although there is a bit of suspense as well, with enough exciting, jaw-dropping moments to keep me on the edge of my seat, One Day Fiancé is first and foremost a super sweet and sometimes hilarious romantic comedy.
Both characters come across as very authentic, are fleshed out in great detail, and I loved them both. Poppy is a pretty quirky heroine, bubbly as quicksilver, a little crazy, but crazy in the good way, who kept me giggling with her sass and humor and dramatic behavior.
And Connor, a gentleman thief, a master of his trade, an enigma to solve, stole my heart right off the bat. Both are bursting with life and seem so real that I almost expected them to step out of the book at any moment.
This book is another page-turner from the pen of one of my all-time favorite authors and one of my new favorite books by her, that's for sure!

Holy cow! This was such a great book!!!

When I started reading about an author with writer's block, I thought, well, crap, here we go. Lauren has writer's block and is on a deadline and that's all this book is going to be about. Well, I was wrong.....so wrong.

This book was just fantastic. Poppy is a freaking nut case. She was so damn funny and her verbal diarrhea was hilarious. This chick had lady balls let me tell you. She had no problem trying to put a beatdown on Connor and anyone who double crossed her.

I would have to say that this book is right up there near the top of Lauren's work. I do love a romcom and Lauren deserves a million stars.

I binged this book and so will you.

oh to remember the face of a sexy renowned con-man that stole my laptop as collateral who’s now my next-door neighbor but also undercover fbi 🙏

this started out interestingg and the set up was so good but it was just soo long (so it kinda dragged after 45%) …. the twist i did not see coming though i was properly bamboozled.

anyways this kinda gave me of killers (2010) meets white collar (2009-2014) add them to your watchlist you’re welcome !! spitfire girls + brooding unhinged whipped men is always such a #REAL pairing — forever loved by me!

also i love meet uglies and their (proper meet) was definitely one :)

One Day Fiance is a beautifully crafted story filled with much heart and some heat. I loved the characters who were so good together...funny, loving, sometimes cautious, but always delightful.  A schmoozing art thief, a writer who's thoroughly stuck in her own head, an agent who could make a drill sergeant sweat, a new-age best friend and a group of indie authors who inhabit an alternate universe create a story that is clever, emotive, original and, did I mention hilarious? I had to stop reading about every 3rd page because I was laughing too hard to continue. Poppy is fangirling over her favorite author and doesn't watch where she's going. She falls right into art thief's arms and the story begins. Connor, the art thief, works with some shady men, but the reality of his job is not what it seems. He's secretive about his past, until Poppy's solid support allows him to open up. I loved the engaging scenes which put me right into the story and made me feel their connection. The secondary characters were colorful and surprising, making for a truly delightful story.

If you are looking for a good laugh mixed in with some steamy bedroom action, add in a little Nancy Drew mystery and some combustible chemistry, then like me, this romcom will not disappoint. Poppy was an absolute riot. I loved her fiery take no prisoners attitude. She just tells it like it is, charge first and worry about the consequences later. Her first meeting with her new neighbor Connor had me in stitches. There were so many laugh out loud moments, I think Gary was my favorite supporting character, followed closely by Nut and Juice. If you need a good laugh waiting for the HEA to arrive, this is one story I would highly recommend.

Connor is as cunning as he is handsome, which serves him well, especially when it's something he desires. Connor is looking to make his mark on the art world, not as an artist, but as an art thief. And he's good at what he does.
Poppy is under pressure with a deadline. After initial success as a writer, it's time for her to prove herself. She's trying but the proving isn't as easy as she'd hoped. Poppy is having a hard time putting the right words into print and when her agent hooks her up with a famous writer, Poppy is all in.
When their paths cross the first time, chaos ensues. The second leans more toward inconvenience and surprise mixed with anger and confusion. When their paths crossed that second time, sparks flew but so did deception and lies.
And just when you think you know what's happening, you really don't. You haven't a clue.
COMPLETELY ORIGINAL STORY AND CHARACTERS THAT ARE SCHEMING AS WELL AS HILARIOUS AT THE SAME TIME! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! SO AMAZING AND HOT!!! AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ!

This outrageous, laugh out loud romance with a side of suspense and the swooniest hero is my new favorite Lauren Landish book!

Poppy and Connor are complete opposites but just what the other one needs. Poppy is a hilarious romance author who some might call crazy but Connor falls for every part of her, even though he’s a bit of a grumpy, stoic guy himself, with a questionable profession. Poppy (who I’ve decided is now my alter ego) is what you would call “ride or die” and exactly who he needed in his corner. I wish there was an entire series of these two and all the things crazy situations they find themselves in!

It was fun to see what really might go on behind the scenes with a romance writer, with the added suspense of art stealing (that would be the first for me in a book). Throw in a lot of steam and very little angst, it’s really a unique story that I didn’t want to see come to an end!

Funny Story how we became a couple!!

Lauren Landing your stories always make laugh, cry and have fantasy dreams. I love your stories and this one was a fantastic book! If you like a little fun, crazy, mystery, and down right who did it. You really need to read this new book of Lauren's. The character of Poppy the author is so much fun , from her dogs, to her friends and of course her new found laptop stealer Connor. Connor on the other hand has no interest in a relationship due to him being an Art Their, but Poppy has other plans for him. I recommend this page turner book with a 5 Stars review!!

I fell for you unexpectedly, but now I plan to be with you forever...

Connor and Poppy's story had me in stitches from beginning to end. I love that Poppy is a romance writer on so many levels. She is a "no holds barred" sassy kind of woman. She has absolutely no filter, says what's in her head out loud, and I adore her for it. I wish I had her spirit.

Connor is Poppy's neighbor and when they first meet, all I can say is its EPIC. Connor is at a loss to try and figure this red-haired beauty out. He is an alpha Bad Boy with capitals B's and growly to boot. Poppy is smitten with him immediately. Besides having the most hilarious characters named Nut and Juice, kudos has to go to Gary. You need to read this story to find out why. Last but certainly not the least, Connor and Poppy heat up the sheets with their naughtiness, sooo hot!!! A first class Romcom with a multitude of LOL moments. You definitely need to put this on your TBR list right away.

A laugh out loud romance that will have you flipping the pages to find out if these two get their happily ever after.

Poppy Woodstock is a author who is suffering from writer block. She just can’t get into her second book. Luckily, she has a dinner with one of the best authors around. She’s hoping to bust through her block and finish her book. But things don’t always go to plan. Connor only has one goal. Get the painting. What Connor wasn’t expecting was for Poppy to be his neighbor.

We go on a very entertaining journey with these two. You will laugh your bottom off when these two get together. What starts out as one day turns into so much more.

As always Lauren Landish brings us laughs and plenty of love. Highly recommended!

I love this author. I’ve been reading her books pretty much since she started. This is one of my favs of hers and prob of this year so far. I laughed so hard at time I fell of my treadmill. This story is about Poppy and Connor. Connor and Poppy are neighbours. I loved reading the part when they first met. Poppy unsettled Connors cause he’s feeling feelings he didn’t want. Connor is all alphalichious and together they make an terrific couple you can’t help but root for. I received an arc copy from the author but also purchased a copy to read again.

I really enjoyed One Day Fiance. There were so many LOL moments throughout the whole book. Poppy Woodstock is a romance writer who is having major writer's block. Connor Bradley moves in next door. Their paths have crossed before. Connor wants to make a name for himself as an art thief. Poppy ends up telling his mom that they are together & Connor plays along. I love how this story unfolded & played out. It was so funny!

Poppy is perfection

I don't leave a lot of reviews but it's been a while since I read a truly different story line. A lot are more or less the same now but this one was perfect. I've read all of Lauren's books and enjoyed them all. But Poppy was exceptionally quirky and fun, I loved reading her inner thoughts! Fun plot twist which is somewhat hinted at from the beginning.
All in all I totally loved this book

I want to be Poppy Woodstock, when I "grow up" and I am 59!
I just love her/ She has a razor sharp wit and no filter. If only I was brave enough to speak my mind the way that she does!

When Poppy meets Conner and then meets him again, I thought I was going to spit out my coffee, I was laughing so hard. Conner is a thief and in a moment of panic grabbed Poppy's bag, which had her lap top in it. She just wants her lap top back and expects Conner to cough it up for her.

Poppy is not one to take no for and answer and is sticking to Conner like glue. She poses as his fiancé at a family dinner and boy do the sparks start flying.

The more these two spend together, the more Poppy can write for her book and Conner's confusion escalates. Conner is hiding a BIG secret. (I figured it out pretty early). Will it affect things between this wild and crazy pair?

This is the story we all need to read to keep our spirits up during these turbulent times.

This is a laugh out loud funny rom-com by Lauren Landish. There is Poppy who is a romance writer with all the sass and wit that goes with it. Then there is Connor who is an alpha male to the max. They are total opposites. The saying that opposites attract is in full effect though it is done in a very hilarious way.
The characters are well developed and the story keeps you reading well into the night. Got to love the situations that they get themselves involved in. Good steam as well. Enjoy!!

This book…

OMG did I laugh… and did my heart ache at times too? Yes. Yes it did. There were so many unexpected twists to this story that I couldn’t put it down. Not gonna lie, this author’s books are hit or miss with me (just due to personal preference) but this one was definitely a hit. Loved it!

Poppy is a writer with a writers block that she has had for weeks so when she gets invited to a writers workshop with a famous writer she is in heaven till the lights go out and her laptop and case are missing with her newest book on it. When she realizes that it’s missing along with the guard she thought was hot she reported to the police who didn’t really care.
A new guy moves in next door and when she sees it’s the missing guard she attacks him. Well Conner didn’t realize what he stole so he agrees to help her retrieve it and she agrees to go to his family dinner which leads to a hysterical story as Poppy and Conner get closer. I just love Poppy’s attitude on life and how Conner deals with her craziness and the adventures they have makes for a very entertaining story.
