This was another fast moving book. It picks up a good bit later after the first one. The werewolves and vampires are gearing up for war. Stuck in the middle are Damien and Kate as they race to stop the war.
It was a good story and I’m looking forward to reading the next one. Thanks to the author for the early copy

The Crossover

Taking up the story years from the first book, this tale of dark fantasy follows the next generation of werewolves... oh, and now vampires and succubi.

The story made me think of Underworld (a favourite of mine) and a mischievous twist on Romeo and Juliet. Don’t worry, there’s a happy ending... though it’s not ever after... yet.

If you enjoy steamy romance fantasy, this is a fun and adventurous addition to your library.

Great

This is a fantastic story with a good spirit. I loved the characters from both sides and enjoyed the love story between the vampire and the werewolf. It has plenty of magic and a good sense of hope and care. Having to find a way to be together whilst everyone around them seems to want to tear them apart. But once they see that they're together they each come round giving them their blessing. But they still have one adversary yet to fight and when peace seems likes it's descended, it's this realisatiin that puts a hault on proceedings.

I just finished it! Wah, and I love it! All I wanted is to read the next book now, but I have to tell everyone how much I enjoyed this.

I thought the first book was good, but this is great! The first vampire romance I've read is Twilight and though I like it, I didn't enjoy it enough to keep reading the next books in the series. This book, however, keeps me flipping the pages. The characters have their flaws and weaknesses, which made this so realistic.

Aruis annoyed me at first, but he easily redeemed himself. My most favorite twist is Zach's story. Gosh, that was so clever of the author. I was very suspicious of him from the get-go, but his backstory made me cry for him with a snap of a finger.

Now, I'm off to the next book.

PS: The lovemaking is so sensual you'd want a vampire lover yourself 🤭

Will the Vampire Prince abide by his Father’s rules and prepares for war or will he protect his mate?
Will Bianca be unleashed from the curse?
Will the Age Old Enemies be able to get together and live peacefully?

My Thoughts :

This is the Perfect Steamy Fantasy Romance I’ve ever read. I literally completed this in a day (It may not be a big deal but am not that kind of a person! I read a book atleast for 3 days).

It was fast paced, got me out of my reading slump for which am really grateful to @daniellephauthor

I loved all the Characters. Bianca doing something extraordinary at the end, Steven’s love towards Bianca, The way Will (Kate’s Brother) is responsible and protective of the Pack, and ofc Arius (Damien’s Brother) he was too good. I loved every part of Damien and Kate, never got tired of them!

I loved every bit of this book and really enjoyed reading this. The little twist at the end which made me crave for the next book was awesome. Fyi, I completed that book in a day too! Lol.

I don’t want to say If you are a this kind of reader this is yours, Man! Just go and grab this book. Its worth your time. Trust me!!

This was a much anticipated read by me after reading the author's debut novel, "The Prophecy", and Danielle Paquette-Harvey delivered again! 🎉

This is another book I highly recommend you clear your schedule for. Once you pick it up you aren't going to want to put it down, it action packed and the story moves quickly. I am ever so grateful for my Advanced Reader Copy and the story was everything I hoped for! 💖

"Age-old Enemies" had me intrigued from the beginning... Who was the enemy?... Oh! And how then do you overcome the gapping abyss...

I really enjoyed the Greek-mythology-like intertwining and linking of characters. Sometimes if you were not paying attention you had to go back and reread to find the slightly allusive but present connection and then the scene unfolding went from perplexing to astonishing! Always in a good way! 💖💖💖

Kate, as the Alpha's daughter, and Alpha-in- waiting is a strong, vibrant and caring character so her fated mate was a surprise. I am not saying more than this about her mate because I loved the discovering the "who and how" of their connection. It gets a bit steamy, if that's not for you flip the page and continue on with the story!! 💖☕📚⛱️☀️🔥

What are you waiting for?

Happy Reading!! ☀️⛱️📚☕

Good Read!

This paranormal, vampire and shifter romance was the classic love at first sight! Damien the Prince of Vampire kingdom and Kate the Beta of her werewolf pack, identify each other as mates nearly instantaneously. However, their families’ hatred for each other over a simple misunderstanding years ago threaten not only their love, but their lives as well. When a surprising mystery is finally unraveled that could stop the impending doom, will they be too late? How can they survive without one another? And what other battles lie ahead?

Age-Old Enemies is a great read if you enjoy paranormal romances. It’s a steady paced, low/medium burn romance with an intriguing plot that will hold your attention until the very end. There will be a sequel to this story, though I feel it could be read as a stand-alone as well.

I am not much of a romance reader, and since then, I have tried to be more flexible in my choice of reading list and by picking up this one, I have made the right choice, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The forbidden love between Kate and Damien was kind of magical to me, and it brought me back to the time when I fell in love with my man.
My point was, it was one good story telling if it managed to turn our mind to one of our most precious moment in life, wasn't it? The alternative point-of-view in the story-telling made the whole plots progressing smoothly from one chapter to another, and enabling the readers to enjoy the book more through two perspectives. Safe to say, I am excited for the next sequel as I have fallen in love with the characters and their sidekicks and their world.

Sizzling werewolf and vampire romance!

Although I did not read the first book in this series, I found Age-old Enemies to be a great stand-alone story.
The author (who I adore!) packs this installment with tension between warring werewolf and vampire communities AND steamy romance. What starts as an enemies to lovers trope turns into a forbidden love reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. I loved Kate’s strength in adversity and fell hard for Damien with his fine clothes and man bun (swoon).

I’m looking forward to Danielle Paquette-Harvey’s next book!

Age old enemies
As a lover of Twilight and anything else to do with vampires or werewolves, this book was a great read. Honestly vampires+ werewolves are such a great combo.
The dual perspective between Damien the vampire prince and Kate the werewolf.
This book has many things I enjoy from the creatures, to the darkness, kidnapping, and romance.
Damien and Kate show that love can be found in unexpected places and true love is worth fighting for.
I didn’t initially realize this was a sequel and I think it works well as a standalone.

Time for yet another review. I finished this one in early august, but today is the cover release for this book so here is the much awaitied review...

I give it a full 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.

But here's why....

I was pulled in from the first moment, a kid sneaking out seems innocent enough. I didn't suspect where it would lead. Throughout the book I was happy to be dragged along on this still not over journey. I hope that I get to beta read for the sequel of... Age-old enemies...

I loved this, it picks up 18 years after the first book and is more about the children of characters in The Prophesy! but, it can be read as a stand alone book.

The story moves quickly and looks at the age old conflict between Vampires and werewolves and what may happen when they fall in love (and lust) with each other.

Danielle's writing style makes it an easy read, I wanted to read more!

In short, loved it.

This book continues the story from the first book. This time we follow Sam and Sarah’s daughter Kate and her mate Damien as they try to navigate their conflicting worlds.

It is really fast paced with lots of action. I enjoyed this book and the story that was built. Looking forward to seeing where the sequel takes me on this journey :)

Age-Old Enemies is book one of the Longing Mates series and tells the story of a grudge Vampires and Werewolves hold against each other since the beginning of times, but the Moon Goddess decides to shake things up a bit. The Vampire Lord is a cruel ruler, and the Alpha Werewolf is a great leader, fair in his rulings who wants his people to thrive, but a misunderstanding between the species leads to a new and gory war. The Vampires accuse the wolves from stealing a sacred book, and the Wolves accuse the vampires of kidnapping the Alpha’s daughter.

Kate is a strong and determined wolf, daughter of the Alpha. One day, her pack is attacked by vampires, and she’s kidnapped. To her surprise, she finds her fated mate in a Vampire. The son of the Vampire lord. Damien is a sweet man who disagrees with his father's heartless ways. Their acceptance of each other is pure, and it’s beautiful to see their love blossom. They know the Moon Goddess must have her reasons to pair them, and together they start to uncover some secrets and mistakes from the past, also save Kate’s sister’s life from an invisible enemy.

I won’t give any spoilers here, but the story is action packed, full of love, old and new. Subjects like the importance of having the acceptance and support of family are on every page, the value of friendship and coming together when things get serious and they have a war to stop. And when it comes to love, it doesn’t matter if they are from different species or if they have been enemies since forever. Love is more than that.

I loved Kate and Damien’s story. I didn’t stop until I saw the words “the end.” But I don’t think it’s the end as a new enemy rises. If you are passionate about Vampires and Werewolves, do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book. You’ll have an amazing adventure. Now I’m off to the 2nd book of the series ‘A Beloved Sin’.

Enemies to lovers is always a firm favourite genre. It’s probably because it reminds us that love conquers all. The story was easy to read even though the book needs to be edited again as there are several issues throughout the book. I’m not sure if it’s because I was reading it in PDF format, but the spacing was way out and page numbers were in the middle of the pages. The first letter of every new chapter was not where it was supposed to be. It was a little confusing. Danielle also changes from past to present tense all the time. Other than that, her style was a cozy read.

I was committed to the story quickly because it started off with a good hook. I really enjoyed the storyline. The fact that vampires and werewolves could be mates was an intriguing twist. The story kept me guessing most of the time, but there were a few things that I was able to predict.

The world that Danielle created was vivid and I was able to lose myself in that world while reading.
Kate and Damien were a cute couple. I enjoyed how they first didn’t know what was happening to them when they were mesmerized by each other. I enjoyed their love story. The dialogue was mostly easy to read except for all the grammatical errors.

All the other characters really made the story come to life. Arius, Will, Zach and all the rest made for a riveting story. Their personalities were not vividly different but it still worked well. This is book 1 in a series. Kate and Damien’s love story is completed but the story ends on a cliffhanger with a lead-in to book 2, A Beloved Sin. Danger is almost upon them.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading enemy to lover’s stories. Or romances and stories about vampires, werewolves and other magical creatures.

I devoured Age‑Old Enemies in a single day.

This is a fast-paced paranormal romance set in a world where vampires and werewolves are on the edge of war. Kate, the daughter of the werewolf Alpha, ends up captured by Damien - the heir to the vampire throne - and what begins as a dangerous situation slowly becomes something far more complicated.

The enemies-to-lovers tension between them is what really drives the story. There’s a lot of emotional push and pull as Kate struggles with her attraction to someone she’s been taught her entire life to hate. At the same time, larger threats are building in the background with assassins, stolen secrets, and the fragile peace between species beginning to crumble.

It’s the kind of book that’s very easy to binge read. I kept saying “just one more chapter” until suddenly the book was finished.

If you enjoy paranormal romance, vampire and werewolf politics, and intense chemistry between characters who definitely shouldn’t fall for each other, this is a fun and engaging read.

Great Vampire/Shifter Romance!

I enjoyed reading Age-Old Enemies! The story shows that cupid can strike anyone, including enemies. Vampires and werewolves had raged a war long before Kate and Damien were born. Yet, they didn’t allow that to deter them from finding love in each other’s arms. The book tells a very practical story about love and courage. It is an easy read, and a page-turner.

“We danced to a few songs, the stars already lighting the skies, our bodies moving in sync.” I love that passage. It shows the romantic mood created in the story. The story is told from the perspective of both the male and female protagonist, which allows you to know what they are feeling. I now have a new book boyfriend in Damien! He was very romantic and tried to shield his mate from harm. I can’t wait to read the next book.

A fun vampire/shifter romance!! We got the POV of both the werewolf and the vampire in this intense love match. I liked the switching POV, especially with the tensions that run between their separate clans. Loved that our female MC, Kate, wasn't a pushover and was a fighter for what she believed in and for what she wanted.

This definitely gave me Twilight type vibes, but for an adult audience. And with more magic and adventure, especially for a first book in a series!

A love story of two people who shouldn’t be. A vampire and a werewolf who should be enemy’s have a bond that can’t be severed and are meant to be mates. They must stop a war from happening between the two families before it’s too late.

Will they find what they need to keep the treaty intact or will a war destroy everything they know and love?

Such an interesting read!

This book was an interesting read but it was also a good read. I never would have thought about werewolves and vampires being mates, but surprisingly it worked! And it worked well! It had a slow beginning, but once I got past it, I found myself super absorbed in the book. I couldn't stop reading it! I finished most of it in one night as well. There are a few grammatical errors here and there but they don't take from the storyline or the plot at all. I found myself wishing I had a sweet, vampire mate like Kate does. I was definitely swooning over the romance in this book. I felt so bad for Arius though. I hope that he finds a way to be happy.
From one hopeless romantic to the next, this book is for you! I'm super excited to go read the next book in the series. 😊

what a good read

I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters in this book.
I loved that not everything just fell into place, all though for a lot it did …eventually…
I also enjoyed the twists within the storyline…. Food for thought and some definite ‘say what?’ Moments ….
I decent read and I do look forward to reading the next book….

A sweet and thrilling story about two destined to be together who are also age-old enemies, a werewolf and vampire, both destined for their family crown. These two had great chemistry and I struggled trying to figure out who they could trust. I loved Damien and Kate and their siblings as well as mates! It’s sweet, passionate and full of action! I can’t wait for the next one and I’m dying to see more from both of their brothers!!

A Darker, Stormier Sequel

As a fan of the first book, and the author in general, I was very happy to learn about Age-Old Enemies, and I wasn’t disappointed!

Where The Prophecy was the lust-filled passion, Age-Old Enemies is the bigger, darker rage. On the verge of war, werewolves learn that the vampires orbiting their lives are ready to attack for reasons they cannot fathom, yet caught in this epicentre is the love-filled, doom-ridden pairing of Damien and Kate. Star-crossed lovers from different worlds, one vampire, one werewolf, and the events that unfold around their forbidden love.

Age-Old Enemies is a step up from The Prophecy in the best way. The author has hit her stride and is creating a bigger world full of darkness that you can’t escape from, while a lurking presence still terrifies beyond the mortal realm. This will delight fans of the supernatural romance genre as well as those with a penchant towards lust and action. Good reading! I cannot wait until the third chapter!

Interesting read!!

Damien and Kate were an amazing addition to this sequel. This book really turned it up a notch compared to the first. The way this book started had me turning the pages right away. The relationships formed make you want to read more to see where things go in the story and the ending OMG!!
I liked how we still got to see Sam, Sarah ans Zach from the first book, was a little sad not to hear anything about what happened to their parents but the time gap worked well with where the first book ended and this book picked up.
Excited to see where the third book will go.

Even better than the first volume. A catchy story, attaching characters. Everything you need to enjoy a rainy automn day. We also notice the evolution of the author's writing which offers a slower and more detailled style than in the first volume. This allows us to better appreciate the evolution of the characters and the story.

Needs an editor

The story has promise, but I was pulled from the story so frequently that it wasn't engaging. I only made it through the first few chapters. I'd be happy to try again once it is edited.
