Cardinal Point #7

The Widow's Christmas Ruse

Rate this book
Love is ageless… Especially at Christmastime in Cardinal Point.
Donna Calfee’s had a couple of lonely years since her husband died—God rest his soul. With her son far from Cardinal Point and the family furniture store becoming less fun and less profitable, she wonders if it’s time to sell out and move on. She always wanted to travel and play with her grandchildren, but the first isn’t fun to do alone, and no babies are on the way. Wesley Lawrence has made millions as the well-known Recliner King of Texas. With a chain of furniture stores across the state, he gets his kicks taking over independent businesses and absorbing them into his empire. With his fourth wife’s departure and their ugly divorce, he escapes the scrutiny of his personal life to hide out in Cardinal Point. What’s more fun at Christmastime than making a small-town owner an offer she can’t refuse?
But Wesley didn’t count on Donna Calfee’s shrewd and stubborn streak, and she didn’t count on enjoying The Recliner King’s company. Maybe with a little manipulation at holiday time, they can strike a mutually beneficial deal. But is it all strictly business?

Ugggg. I hate being confused.”“You’re not confused, Ma.”“I’m not?”“Nope. You’re just all grown up."

Donna Calfee, widowed owner of her family's furniture store is stuck. She's tired of the life that's lead her here. Can she change? Change can be scary, and hard.

And when Wesley Lawrence makes another offer on her store she kind of stops him in his tracks. Wes is in the last throws of his third divorce and is actually staying at his son's apartment while his ex is clearing out if their house. In some way, he's tired of his life too.

Can these two broken people help each other during the holidays? You'll just have to read and find out!

Carla Rossi is a brand new author for me as I took a chance when she asked for readers. I am so glad I said yes. This book is marvelous and a sweet realistic story that might make you cry a little. Highly Recommended 5/5

Love is full of unexpected surprises

This takes opposites attract to a whole new level. Or maybe they were too much alike. I loved how the people in their lives helped them to change their mindsets.

Pretty good, but for me it was a little too much snarky!

Cute romance set in a small town during Christmas. Big furniture store owner falling for the owner of a small mom and pop shop. Hallmark Christmas vibes. Where’s my cocoa?
