This story is about Julia who is recently divorced and bought a house online, sight unseen. Well, the pictures were taken before the hurricane that happened in the previous book! But she signed the paperwork before the hurricane too! It's a mess! Needs so much work. However, Julia always tries to be positive and smile, to see the good instead of the bad.
Dawson is the contractor that Julia's real estate agent Maggie (again from a previous book, I love that!) told her about. When Dawson arrives Julia is knee deep in trying to do a deep cleaning. He agrees to come by in the evenings and do what he can until he can get a crew available to work there, it would be at least a month. With the hurricane, he's swamped. As Dawson comes over and works on different repairs he starts to notice things about Julia, and it makes him uncomfortable. He doesn't want to notice things about her, or any woman, he's content with where he is and with what he's doing in life.
I get extremely mad at Dawson at one point in the book lol Silly, I know. But that can only be done by an excellent author! One who can pull you in and make you feel! Ms. Walsh is one of those authors, truly a wonderful thing!! I highly recommend
This story had good characters, some quirkiness and lots of emotions. I really felt like I got to know the characters well and enjoyed seeing their relationship develop, I also liked that they didn't rush into things and that their relationship was told from both sides. I enjoyed the honesty of the characters and that they weren't perfect, the ending made me smile. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.
Dawson and Julia meet because he is a Contractor and she purchased a house on line that turns out to be a wreck. Julia tries to hire Dawson but he tells her with the Hurricane that bit the Island he can't fit her house in his schedule. After thinking about Julia, Dawson decides to work out a plan to help fix her house on his days off and after he finishes a 12 hour day on his other jobs.
