Halfway between a dream and a memory.

When Detective Daniel Pynchon Wakes up in Lost Falls, on the shore with no recollection of how he got there, he struggles to piece together the events that lead him there.

As he investigates the phenomenon surrounding his memory loss and the town itself, he discovers horrors both human and otherwise.

TWIN PEAKS meets LOVECRAFT COUNTRY in this socially minded mystery thriller.

The latest collaboration between Curt Pires and Antonio Fuso, the creators of WYRD (soon to be a show on FX starring Matthew Rhys).

I read this book via Kindle Unlimited.

I'm not gonna lie, I went into this book blind. I had no idea what it was about and I was completely drawn in by the cover art. Lost Falls seems to be a small troubled town. Daniel doesn't know how he got there, Drake is cheating on his girlfriend, the sheriff's daughter, the sheriff is being called out to gas station shootings with a guy with glowing eyes and there seems to be something living in the falls. I really liked the sporadic, multiple POV lay out of this story and I would be very happy to continue with this series.

Great work

The artwork and the story are great. Mr. Pires has done an excellent job at drawing the reader in and keeping them engaged. I look forward to moving into this universe and the wild ride that will ensue.

I'm Confused

Hopefully things will become clearer. After this first installment , I'm completely lost. I guess I'll make a decision about continuing this series after the second book.

For the series: quit at #4… it’s just unwinding more strings that I’m not confident will be able to be tied together. Characters are interesting for what they are but the plot is just scattered among 3-4 subplots, or sous-plots, and I feel like I’m being toyed with. This can’t possibly come together in a satisfactory way…so done after 4.

Eerily similar to the Wayward Pines trilogy by Blake Crouch, published a year after this. Picked up the theme/setting/plot there? Definitely like the Wayward Pines books better.

FBI agent tries to rescue girl from rape-y hicks but she’s dead when he gets to her, then not or a ghost & she takes him into the Light/sky beam and he ends up in Lost Falls. Blue eyed evil lurks in people jumping between them: murders H.S. Jock, then shooting rampage at gas station, then H.S.kid who stabs sheriff. The blue-eyed possessor is All the Evil There Ever Was, apparently. Agent is accosted by guy in woods who takes him to a research facility through the falls. They like him “aren’t from there.” Agent gets possessed and pulled into water—word salad about evil blah blah ensues. He prays and Light/Good rescues him & he’s returned to Lost Falls.
