This cookbook has some really good recipes. I really like how it is organized. I really like the weekly grocery lists and the notes for what can be made ahead of time and how far in advance. These are great tools for helping folks get on track and organized.
The one significant issue with it is that the author uses and endorses using almost no fats or oils in any of the recipes. As of 2023, it is known that is NOT the best dietary practice. We need healthy moderate amounts of healthy fats and oils in our diet. As a result, I have modified recipes I've used from this cookbook and will continue to do so, to incorporate using heart-healthy oils (primarily extra-virgin olive oil).
Additionally, given the dramatic rise in cost of fresh food, actually almost everything really, since 2022, the price point information can be significantly off. Honestly, that should be expected though and I find absolutely no fault with the author regarding the pricing as there's no real way she could predict the market prices.
However, I would hope that in the near future, an updated version would be published that corrects the dietary information about fats and adjusts the recipes.
Regarding the pricing of ingredients and recipes, I hope that if updated versions are published, that there will be an appendix that includes charts of the changes in prices and information changes with the years they're updated. I personally find that information interesting to know and think it would appreciated by future readers.

I haven’t made all of the recipes, but have made several. These dishes are simple and delicious, and use the most basic of ingredients, which helps to keep things healthy and very affordable. My current favorite recipe is the Ratatouille Pasta. I could eat the sauce plan, put it on a pizza crust or tortilla, or have it with pasta, like the recipe suggests. Highly recommend!
SO many amazing vegan recipes!! love how simple they are, yet also unique. the money saving tips at the beginning are also super helpful! my one negative was how much nutritional yeast was used; i just don’t love it!
I like this book. It has easy to follow recipes, simple ingredients and most importantly tasty food. It has everything you need to have budget friendly plant based meals.
