Jacobin #42

The Working Class

Rate this book
He who was previously the money owner now strides in front as capitalist; the possessor of labor power follows as his laborer. The one with an air of importance, smirking, intent on business; the other hesitant, like one who is bringing his own hide to market and has nothing to expect but a hiding.

My first Jacobin magazine! Great first place to jump in! Very fitting for a socialist intro — The Working Class!

Not one of my favorite issues. Missed the mark on the realities of working class life in the work place and home. Most of the readers are highly educated and removed from the harsh and overwhelming life working for a wage. More Nickel and Dimed and less redundant digressions on how workers are represented or portrayed in media.
