"The Flower That Swallowed The Duke" in English via Webtoon, where I'm current to episode 55. Pretty good art and a fast moving story that grips right away, neat lore. I'm into the wolfman thing, not gonna lie. Then there's that it's a period romance.

This one has a pretty traditional start and format. A magical McGuffin/bloodline allows our protagonist to go back in time and make different life choices. The love that was always denied illegitimate child Iris is found and revenge on those who abused her (or are generally corrupt) is had. I don’t mind the layers of self doubt that are added midway when our flower realizes that the luck of Teresa’s earrings might be influencing peoples emotions. And the compensating disasters which come from her meddling with the time line are a fair balance to her OP stats. I really like the idea that grudges and intense emotions continue to haunt the world as a commentary on personal choice. However, I am not a fan of the characters seemingly dumb when the plot requires. Suddenly sensitive beastmen trained as assassins and mercenaries don't know about spies moving around them and creating a crisis which is either a double fake out (for readers), instantly solved by a new artifact, or the source of their one failure. I suppose the lack of balance leads to a lack of credibility in the world building and that is a shame. After the first arc it loses focus a bit as well, there are schools, businesses, epidemics, dragon children, and more before we have even ruined the Whittle family and started addressing the civil rights of Suin. You will also find some expected tropes like allowing the antagonist to live entirely too long while doing harm, side characters who are suddenly experts in whatever is needed to solve a particular situation, and instalove. There is some fun to be had in this battle of good versus evil but it will become forgettable after you finish the tale.

all caught up on webtoon, will update when im done with the series, pretty good manhwa, an easy read and the male lead is a green flag, pretty entertaining but that’s about it, not the worst manhwa in the world but not the best either, still a nice and easy read, a palate cleanser if you will.

I really really really like the development of this relationship, it's one of the healthiest I've ever seen, and that's really saying something
