July 9, 2019let me see, of course he humiliated her for her sake. Of course there was no other way in the world to do this without hurting her, right? And did he always love her, too, but spent all three years fucking around? There os something new in here?

This was a second chance/brother’s best friend/enemies to lover’s romance. Penny and Jax knew each other for a long time and when she asked him to help her lose her virginity, he lied the next day and said that she was a lousy lay. She was devastated and she changed schools because she couldn’t be around him anymore.
4 years later, she is now his employee. He never lost his attraction to her and as they get closer, she starts to have the same feelings that she did before but can she go back to the way it was before. Jax finds out that she has been keeping a secret and when he finds out he thinks that it is revenge from college.
This book will have you feeling all the emotions: anger, love, sadness, happiness. You name it, you will feel it. It was a great read.

Penny wants her brother’s best friend Jax to be her first but afterwards he hurts her and that love turns to hate. When she ends up working for him, they discover the sparks are still there. What will happen when truths are revealed? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and suspense. I was hooked from beginning to end. A great read.

This was an enjoyable read. Jax and Penny knew each other before. Comes to find out Jax did something terrible and Penny was understandably hurt. They run into each other years later. Both still have feelings for each other. Of course Penny was still unsure. However, by the end everything works out.

It was tolerable up to the end. I don't like keeping pregnancies a secret from the father (other than danger to the baby or mother). A lot of unnecessary drama. Just tell her why you were such a dick back then and be done with it. Yeesh no need to draw it out

This book brought out emotions that could happen to anyone any time. Penny Logan has always had a crush on her brother Chance’s best friend Jax and it only got stronger the older she got until she asked him to take her virginity and Jax was happy to help because unbeknown to her he has had the hots for her as well. But after there wonderful night together he wanted more but she only wanted one night not knowing she could of had him forever and so he panicked and didn’t want another male to have her and so he said some horrible things about her and hurt her badly and lost his best friend as well. Now 3 yrs later Penny fresh out of college gets a job as the as the manger of marketing for this new up and coming company plus the pay was amazing but little did she know who her new boss was until they came face to face after all this time Jax Michaels she almost punched him again but she didn’t she needed this job and she still held a soft spot in her heart for him and always had. Jax was so shocked to see the love of his life walk into his office and his life again and hopefully he could make things right and win her back but now he struggled to say anything to her at first then he made a move to show her around the office and while they walked he could feel the hate and something more coming off her but she was here with him now maybe he could change her mind and make up for all his mistakes and they could finally be together. How does it all work out, lets just say it’s not all smooth sailing. Great book get it read it you will love it.

Second chance romance
This was a great second chance/older brother’s best friend/enemies to lovers romance. Jax and Penny grew up together. Jax was Penny’s older brother’s best friend. They each had a crush on one another but didn’t want to make a move until one night in college when they went to a frat party, had some drinks and slept together. Jax took her virginity and then told everyone that she sucked in bed thus embarrassing Penny. Penny had to deal with the whispering and laughter and ended up transferring to another school. Penny ends up hating Jax for making her go through that mess. Jax goes on to become a famous model thanks to the bump on his nose that was a result of the broken nose Penny gave him. He is trying to start his own fashion line and unknowingly hires Penny to head up the marketing for his company. Things are awkward between them but Jax remembers his old feelings for her and the attraction between them flares up again. Penny tries to resist but they end up sleeping together a few times. Jax wants her forever but Penny doesn’t trust him. Jax is that irresistible bad boy. He’s charming and persistent. His reasoning behind the stunts he pulls is kinda immature but he grows up and sees what he did was wrong. He works to try and woo Penny back because he truly does love her. They each make mistakes along the way but learn from them. This was sweet and sexy book.

Not just Misbehaved
Misbehaved is the fourth book in the Brother's Best Friends series by Katy Kaylee. This book centers around Penny and Jax. But let's not forget Chance who is Penny's brother and Jax's best friend. Penny has had a crush on Jax forever and wanted him to be her first. So in college she actually asks him and he obliges. But he betrayed her in such a horrible way that she is utterly humiliated and vows to hate him forever, rightfully so I say. What he did to Penny was beyond being forgivable in my book and has left her with emotional scarring and major trust issues.
Now years later Jax has become Penny's new boss and she just does not know what to say or do. I mean what can you do if you have vowed to hate who turns out to be your boss and you need your job. Well you have to figure how to work with him and make the best of it. Jax still does not treat Penny right but she still becomes involved with him. This did not read authentic in my book as they did not even deal with what happened in college.
All in the this story was good but I could not stay connected to the character of Penny. As for Jax I just wanted to run him over with a car, and then back over him for good measure (just kidding, sort of). But the story is well written as per Katy's usual style.

This one beautiful love - hate story about Jax and Penny. Jax best friend’s little sister Penny has had a crush on him since they were younger. Several years later Penny is a freshman in college seeks out Jax a senior looking to have him as her 1st lover! Penny believes she can get Jax to want more than a one time thing but once the next day comes things go from pure happiness to absolute pain and an unforgivable act by Jax. Penny takes her anger out on Jax and then is forced to leave college and find another to continue her education. Jax goes on to become a very successful model who then tries his hand at a clothing line and his staff finds them a great marketing member to join their team only to discover it’s Penny. These two have history, heartache, friendship and hatred between them. It’s one wonderful journey their relationship takes. There are times I wanted to be mad at Jax and other times he did the right thing for Penny. Will Jax ever be able to make things right between them and move forward for all the right ones?

This is another great read from Katy she seems to have the ability to make her characters so relatable that you feel as though they are your friends and this book was no exception. She is fast becoming a go to author for me

Fast read with interesting characters.
Jax is a former model, he credits his fame to a unique trait he has which makes him look a bit like Owen Wilson. He's recently stepped outside of modelling to open his own fashion company.
Penny is a recent college graduate, she gets hired on with a new company as head of marketing. She can't believe her luck at landing this job. That is until she's introduced to her boss. Jax is her brothers ex-best friend, the guy who took her v-card, and the guy who's nose she broke when he spread rumours about her through the whole school. He's the reason she was so ashamed she was forced to switch schools. She hates him! So why does it only take one look at him to bring back memories and feelings of their one night together?
This story flowed nicely, there's not really any surprises and it was a little predictable. The characters were well developed as were the supporting characters. I liked how everyone was given their own background and wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

Penny and Jax hook up in college and he breaks her heart as well as humiliates her. Now years later she walks into her new job to meet her boss only to learn that its Jax the man who destroyed her all those years before. Jax is stunned to learn that his people had hired Penny as the new head of marketing. Sparks fly between them even though Penny is angry with him still. Jax doesn't want to work with her but when his friends tell him that he has no choice but to he knows that they have to work through what happened in their past in order to move on with their future. However what they didn't count on was for Penny's brother to come back into the picture before they has settle things between them. Can they resolve their problems to have a future? What will her brother have to say?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first page and leave you wanting more at the last. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

OMG! I loved this book! Jax and Penny were amazing. Jax was Penny’s brothers best friend and she’d been crushing on him for as long as she could remember and when the opportunity arises she takes it. Jax knew better than to do what he was going to do, knowing it was a bad idea, but he had feelings for her and couldn’t help himself when she made her move. Little did Penny know that moment in time would ruin her for anyone else. The last thing Penny ever thought was that she would see Jax again, and boy was she stunned when she walked into her new boss’s office and found Jax standing there waiting to meet his new hire. So much tension, lies and hate between them. As you can imagine they are stunned and can’t believe it, how’s this going to work? Can it work? So many feelings, lust and passion igniting between them, can Jax fix what her broke those years ago? Will Penny give him the chance, or will it be too much to handle? Can Penny learn to trust again before it’s too late for them? I guess you will need to read for yourself to find out what happens.

I loved this romance between Jax and Penny. I thought it was going to be a four star read because I just couldn’t get over the horrible way Jax behaved after being with Penny that first time. I kept hoping it wasn’t true, and it was just a misunderstanding, instead I was so hurt and disappointed. Who does that? And not even an apology to soothe her hurting soul.
Their second chance meeting was satisfying in that Jax never really got over Penny. But after they spontaneously combust together, he treated her poorly AGAIN! What a boneheaded move. Despite my hurting heart for Penny, the author pulled everything together for a satisfying romance! Turned out it was Jax’s boneheaded thinking that caused all the pain. His past actions were actually sweet in a oddly twisted way.
Thank goodness Penny was made out of sterner stuff than the air headed models Jax was surrounded with.

I always love to pick up a book by this author. You always get a great story and some amazing characters. This book is no exception. Buckle up for Penny and Jax's story, find out what happened four years ago that has our Penny up in arms for revenge. Jax has no idea the whirl wind he started but he will get it figured out. You see, Jax is Penny's brother's best friend and of course Jax and Penny hook up and then Jax splits. Four years later, Penny shows up for a new job to meet the boss and guess who? These two characters are seriously electrifying together and can trigger or experience all the emotions in the rainbow in each other. Can these two work together? Without harming each other or anyone in the cross fire? Not soon after these two reunite and hook up are we back to keeping secrets. Do the secrets tear these two apart for good? A really good paced, well written story that keeps you turning each page to find out if this couple will get its HEA or not.

Penny had been in love with Jax, her brothers best friend and that is why she decided to give him her v-card. She invited him back to her room and hoped giving her virginity to Jax would make him realize he loved her too. Little did he know that he did love her but couldn't be with her. So what is a guy to do? Tell a bunch of lies about her. Fast forward.....5 years later.... Penny has accepted a job in Minneapolis. She had worked hard and gotten over the pain of Jax's behavior (or so she thought), she had thought she had the job of her dreams. She walked into the office of the CEO and faced the one person she never thought she would see again.
You have to read the rest to see how it ends. It was so engrossing that I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and wanted to slap Jax along side the head for being a dumb sh**.

Loved this book it was well written by Katy and loved how the characters worked well with each other.
Penny was lusting over her brothers best friend Jax so in college he took her v card and told every one she wasn’t good at all. This branded Penny and hurt her so bad she never really got over it. She accepts a new job as head of marketing and to her surprise she walks in to meet her new boss and it’s no other than Jax himself. To Jax’s surprise he is shocked to see Penny stand in front of him and that she is now an employee of his. Penny is having a hard time letting of the pain that Jax did to her and also the feelings she has for him even to this day. Jax is feeling all the mutual attraction as well. Can Jax make this better for Penny and gain her trust in him again? How will this all work out with them working together?
Awesome read would love for the story to continue on with the other people talked about in the in the story

Penny is having a hard time letting of the pain that Jax did to her and also the feelings she has for him even to this day. Jax is feeling all the mutual attraction as well. Can Jax make this better for Penny and gain her trust in him again? How will this all work out with them working together?

Penny and Jax have known each other since she was a teenager crushing on her older brother’s best friend. When he takes her v-card, Jax tells a lie about her that breaks her heart and causes her to move. Now three and half years later, Penny is going to be working as the manager of his marketing team. It was quite a shock for both of them that she is going to be working for his company. There is a lot of hate to get past for this relationship to even have a chance at working. There was drama, angst, lies, revelations, hurt and love. Jax is willing to do what he can to get Penny to believe he has changed from that boy she knew. As they say, “actions speak louder than words,” and Jax has his work cut out for him. This is a cute second chance romance that has some pretty good characters.

Penny had a crush on Jax her brother's best friend for a long time. Finally he noticed her and they share a wonderful night together. But then he spreads terrible rumours about her. Three years later she still hates him and she gets a big surprise when she finds out that he is her new boss. The chemistry between the two of them is still strong. Can she trust and forgive him ? A fantastic book. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. So exciting and romantic and emotional. I loved every single minute of it

While in college she decides she wants him to be her first but afterward her life is turned upside down because of a lie. Years later they meet again and the sparks still there but will their past affect their future. This is an emotional story filled with drama, angst, heartache, lies, secrets and so much more. Penny - a lover, who hates jerk, employee, lover.
Sounds simple, but it is less than simple. If anything could wrong, it did.
I got soo in to this story that I was partly angry and sad several times and thought a lot of not so nice things about Jax.
Then you know that the story is good - if you get your emotions running.

I truly enjoyed this story. It was a slow burn but with progression. The way the characters were developed had you at the edge wanting to find out what happened. It has something angst as when reading you want to know what happened with Penny and Jax and wonder if they could get past it. There’s a lot of hurt but also lots of love. Truly a great story!

Riveting! A compelling, amazing, enjoyable, and exciting second chance romance! The ideas are well thought out, emotionally deep, well written, witty, funny, and relatable. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is intense and off the charts; the sex scenes are steamy. This story will keep you captivated from beginning to end. Highly recommended!
