Honestly, I’m not a crier. But surely, this book has made me cry a river of tears. It’s touching and inspiring at the same time.
The life of Sam would take you to places where you would not expect. His life was a miracle. He shouldn’t have survived the war, but he did. However, his injury was beyond imagination. His left leg was amputated, his hands and face were disfigured. This story epitomized the greatness of God’s love. Upon returning home, his old pal, who worked in the bank, hardly recognized him. But, later on, he was surprised with a welcome party. Another couple met Sam and joined him for dinner and invited him to go to church. He was surrounded by good people, no matter how cruel life was. But the most beautiful thing that ever happened to his life was when he met Rachel. Rachel painted colors in Sam’s life.
Overall, I could say that I was satisfied with the reading. The beginning was interesting, and the ending was surprising.
