Archie Morganstern is a fireman in Jensen City with a typical life. At least it’s a normal life until the night a warehouse fire changes everything. What is the mysterious substance he fell into during the fire? Who is the gorgeous woman he found during the fire, and how did she get in the warehouse? Most importantly, how the hell does he suddenly have the ability to move fire around with the wave of his hand?

Darby Clausen has a tedious job as a mortgage processor, but she has a secret only she and her best friend know. She can see a person’s most recent dream with one touch. When she accidentally sees what the man harassing her at a bar dreamt last night, she sets out to investigate on her own.

After Darby is rescued from a burning warehouse by a mysterious firefighter, they work together to find out why he has sudden powers and precisely what is going on in one of Jensen City’s biggest corporations.

It would be helpful to stay focused on the task at hand, but Darby and Archie can’t keep their minds on the problem and can’t keep their hands to themselves.

This book is hot in every sense of the word...

Archie is a fireman with a normal life until his life is changed overnight during a fire. Not only does he rescue a mysterious and beautiful woman (Darby), but he suddenly finds himself able to control the very substance he's fighting...

When he tracks Darby down, he discovers a kindred spirit with her own secrets. Their attraction sparks from the outset and as the flames of their passion burn, they work together to track down what's really going on in Jensen City, and what has happened to Archie.

This book is fabulous. Smoking hot, twists and turns, and side characters I can't wait to know more about. There is an unexpected MFF scene which almost burnt me to a crisp. that scene in particular has stayed with me for weeks since I ARC read this incredible story.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series! AMAZING!

I have to be honest and say that paranormal romance isn’t my usual choice, hence the 4 stars.⭐️

The fact that this is Tori Ross’ debut novel is incredible. Her writing is brilliant, she’s an extremely talented writer.👏🏻

There is a lot of steam to this story!!! Ooof 🔥🔥🔥 the FFM scene is seriously hot!🔥

If you enjoy paranormal romance then you will LOVE this!⭐️

Contemporary romance is my jam and I’ve only read a handful of paranormal in the past, but reading Arson made me expand my preferences. This very well written PNR is a stand out and I practically beg Tori for book two (which I got, BTW).

First thing first, ARSON is really that hot. It left my skin burning with the fire that our two leads shared (spoiler…there’s a scene with a third). But don’t let that fool you into thinking this book is all that. The intrigue of and incident that caused our hero, Archie, to have special skills and Darby’s gift made this book very entertaining.

This book has equal parts suspense, mystery, romance and steam. A relatively short read that you wish wouldn’t end.

This is a solid debut and start of the series. Five star read all around.

I have three words for this book -- HOT, HOT, and HOTTER. Arson is the first book in a series featuring superheroes, which was definitely not something I had read before. That being said, I highly recommend it.

Archie is a firefighter, who suddenly develops the ability to control fire. The super hero aspect of the book was VERY well done, and Archie growing into his powers was natural, and the explanation behind it was realistic!

There was a bit of action, a bit of mystery, and a TON of hot spice. An excellent, well rounded, unique book and I'll definitely be picking up the next book in this series!

Good concept

I quite enjoyed this but found most of the sex scenes boringly vanilla. Archie, Darby and Remi all came across as rather uninteresting the majority of the time. The idea of amp is great but overall I found it one of those books I read just in case it was better near the end. Sadly it wasn't the case

DNF at 20%. The writing is a bit too stilted for me and there’s a lot of telling but not showing when it comes to the interactions between the main characters.

An absolutely excellent paranormal romance! The chemistry between Archie and Darby is palpable, and the firefighting scenes were so finely drawn that I felt like I was there. The pace left me breathless in the best way, and the epilogue left me desperate for more!

A superb debut from a writer to add to your one click list.

Who knew paranormal romance could get so hot? I am not a fan of the genre, to be honest, but this book was so well written and pulled you in so deep, I just might start! Archie and Darby had great chemistry between them and the spicy FFM scene added into the mix, made for a great read. Looking forward to the next installment!

DNF, forgot to dnf this I haven’t opened it for a while.

Too many “I’m not like other girls” lines it’s giving “fruity little drink cuz she can’t shoot whiskey” and I’m not here for that because I love a fruity little drink

I don't read a lot of Paranormal books but I am sure glad I read Arson. This book was amazing, written so well, the characters were well developed and I freaking loved the banter between Archie and his friends. Darby was a strong willed heroine and no damsel.
I loved the paranormal aspect as it wasn't too over the top and the Author made it seem believable. The love scenes including the FFM scene was written beautifully and the relationship between the two MC's was made stronger for it. With suspense/mystery elements to it as well. This is the first in a series and I am excited for the next books to follow.

Rating: 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One word — FANTASTIC!

When the author reached out to me about this book I was Like YES! because I loved the firefighter theme and the cover, and boy am I glad I read it. I can’t think of a single thing that bothered me in this novel, which is a rarity.

The premise was great... I mean a firefighter with superpowers? YES! The plot was perfectly executed, the story flowed flawlessly, the pacing was great, the characters even greater, but what struck me the most was the author’s uncanny ability to tap into my mind and evoke such vivid images with her words.

There is a lot of steam to this story!!! The FFM scene was HOT!🔥🤤

The chemistry between the characters was 💣🔥💣🔥💣🔥

I give this a heat index of five out of five flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!

I really enjoyed this story and I felt it all the way down of my body and now I need couple hours to pull myself together… Oh , I’m not overreacting.. I'm really, really, really satisfied with this book…(see what I did there😉😉)

Arson is a scorcher that would warm your heart and melt your panties at the same time. Do not read in public for risk of indecent behavior due to uncontrollable urges.😉😉🤭

Highly recommend!

Not my cup of tea

This book is ostensibly about an arsonist being tracked down by a magic-wielding firefighter and a mortgage processor with her own unusual secret, but the magic and the arsonist both seem to take a backseat while the spicy scenes take center stage. It reads like erotica, not romance. Therefore I’m not going to focus too much on the plot, because there isn’t much to it.

The prose is missing something, je ne sais quoi… There are some seriously cringe-inducing lines. For example, toward the beginning, the villain is introduced as saying something “meanly” with an “asshole-like stare” and I almost put the book down, because WTF. The characters are in their mid-thirties and they all text like Gen Xers. Big long paragraphs with excessive punctuation. Even their dirty talk is wordy and kind of cringey; it’s realistic, I guess, but sometimes less is more.

Overall I felt like I couldn’t fully connect with the characters, like their thought processes were just so simple and linear that there seemed to be nothing more complex about them as human beings. Even when they’re struggling with mixed feelings, there isn’t a lot of depth there.

Dnf @ 57% - what a load of shite. This book was so annoying. The characters had no chemistry and the plot dragged.

Annoying parts
- Him speaking and his voice "going straight to her clit" while she's in a hospital bed.
- Him saying that he's been thinking about their meet up since they arranged it (so 12 hours)
- him saying he's wanted to kiss her since he first saw her as if it's a big deal when it's been 2 days
- Also, what grown-ass people have a favourite colour? You want me to believe that 30+ year old adults are talking about their favourite colour on a first date.

The dialogue is awkward and cringe:
"Text to archie - I'm actually out with remi. Want to join us?
Text from Archie - I'd love to have a drink and meet your friend. Text me the address."
Most people would probably say "yeah sure, what's the address"

"It's not every day you find a man that can remember anything about you, much less your drink of choice." - oh my days girl. You drink whiskey, just like him, it's not a difficult drink to remember.

Darby has a gift to see peoples dreams when she touches them. She sees something about a fire when a man touches her at a bar. She goes to the address and is trapped inside, a fire fighter sees her projectile thru the door and goes searching for her. That fireman is Archie, he has one of his crew take her out and looks for any other people. He bumps into a pallet and something spills on him and feels like fire in his veins.

This is a paranormal romance with two characters really taking a chance for the first time. This books is so hot in places it should go up in flames. It kept me up in the middle of the night reading. There is a hot FFM scene which is not really my thing, but to each his own. I want to say this is a HFN as there is more to the story.

Going into this book completely blind aside from knowing it is a firefighter romance it surprised me with every chapter. Tori Ross's writing is fantastic and I can't wait to read more of her books! This book was a good, fast-paced read without the feeling that everything was rushed. There's a bit of mystery, a little thrill, and, of course, some hefty spice!

There are 3 more books in the completed series and I will say, it does end on quite a cliffhanger! But Archie and Darby's story is sweet, spicy, and beyond cute!

An okay read. A little too weird for me though. It has some very hot sex scenes including Darby, Archie and Darby's best friend, Remi.

Needs at least one more editing pass.

This book is another great read by Tori Ross. It reads quickly and there are a couple of steamy parts so this is another book I would suggest reading with your spouse because reading sexy time books leads to fun times!

Archie and Darby are likeable characters with special 'skills'. Archie obtains his skill through an accident that happens in the book but Darby was gifted with her special skill early in her life. I am excited to see how they end up using their skills together in book 2 and beyond.

The first book in the Jensen City Heroes series a well written short story by a new Author to me. Firefighter Archie Morganstern has a substance come in contact with his skin while he is saving Darby Clausen from a fire. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, unknown happenings, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book.
