Havnt listened to the first book in the series but don't think I will, just maybe. It was better then the last romance novel I read but that didn't say much. The characters or plot just didn't intruiged me enough even if it's about dragonshifters.

Fury of Shadows is the second installment in the "Dragonfury" series. This series is part of the dragon pack that is living in Scotland. And I absolutely loved this book. I think this book is even better than the first book which I really enjoyed. There was something so much deeper on the emotional moments between our couple that really effects the reader on another level and I really appreciated what this author was capable of doing especially when these books are smaller, they are novella's and not full length reads. The spice that is delivered between this couple isn't many scenes but the ones that we get hit 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and I really enjoyed what she was able to deliver within this one here. I also found the way in which the story was built plot wise to be a wild ride. Its well built and the banter between the various characters was so well done. I really had a blast and my only complaint is that it was too short, I didn't want to say goodbye to this couple here. However, these books are just perfect if you are looking for a fun story with strong emotions than I recommend it highly.

Dragon warrior Cyprus, Commander of the Scottish pack, carries the burden of his secrets. When an enemy resurfaces, he returns to battle. In the course of his hunt, he stumbles across his foe as he grabs Elise Woodward. When Cyprus sees her they connect and he knows it’s his mate. Now to save her, and convince her she belongs with him.

Suspense, connections, cool abilities and a wickedly cool homestead pulled me in. I loved Elise from the start. She fights back and love books. How could I not cheer for her? Cyprus is broody, smexy and fierce. We learn more about the world, these Scotland dragons, and get characters updates from the previous novella.

While this spinoff trilogy will stand on its own, its clear there are Easter eggs for fans of the Dragonfury series and I am determined to dive into those as well.

The romance was heated with a touch of humor. Their chemistry and feelings for one another felt genuine, even if the fated mate trope made the romance progress quickly.

Felicity Munroe continues to narrate this series and I love her accents for both the male and female voices. She enhances the story and brings forth the characters’ emotions through tone and pacing.

Mates, battles, magic and characters you want to root for await you. I felt this story was stronger than the Fury of a Highland Dragon. I’d attribute the added length. I am looking forward to diving into Fury of Denial and Fury of Persuasion.

3 2/3 "Hot Scott Dragons" Stars!

I love these Scottish dragon guys!! I like this spin-off -ish pack and hopefully Forge will find out he has family back home soon.

A new enemy to fight. New dragons to get mated. Yay! This one is a bit wordy. Words, words, words. Especially for a novella. It's more like 150 pages rather than 50. More pages is great to developed a bit of storyline; which can be difficult in a novella. And the story was okay, moving toward good. But just more words can be annoying. Overall though, I liked it. Looking forward to what comes next. Happy reading!

Exciting

The Dragonfury books grab me and pull me inside. I can feel the air rushing past as they fly. The thrill of the hunt. The terror of their mates when the rogues attach. Teeth clenched, sitting on the edge of my seat, heart racing. Just as good reading it the second time as the first.

Really wished this book was longer. There wasn't enough plot development to really satisfy. A new enemy was introduced, and that wasn't resolved (wasn't expecting that as I am anticipating this enemy returning in future books). But there was no happy resolution at the end.

I was trying to figure out why this was book 2, I realized that Ivy and Trydin's story was number 1. This is listed also as 5.5 in the full series. Even though this was confusing, the book wasn't. I loved reading about the Scotland clan. Cyprus is the leader of the group(Forge's cousin). He and three others are chasing down a rogue dragon that is killing humans.
Elise is a book conservator, she is going to talk to a priest about some of the church's books. The church is where the rogue is. He has killed all the people there. Cyprus has him cornered when Elise walks in. They both realize that Elize is a high energy female. That means that she can be a dragon mate. The rogue kidnaps her.
There is only one thing for Cyprus to do, go after them. This book chronicles the beginning of the relationship between Elise, Cyprus and the clan. It also brings to light a wrong that Cyprus feels that he committed in the past that is related to the rogue.
I love Coreene Callahan's books, every one. I wonder if Elise's roommate is a high energy female who will get a book too. Previous books say that HE females come together, so maybe... Looking forward to finding out. I was also wondering if the two clans will meet up because they have a common enemy to fight, plus Forge used to be one of them. I guess time will tell. I recommend this author whole heartedly.

This is the second book in the Dragonfury Scotland spinoff series. It is a fairly short book and it introduces us to Cyprus and Elise. We have met Cyprus before in the main series but I had not started the Scotland series yet so he was just a name for me at the time. It is nice to be able to start getting the back story of Forge's Scotland pack and to see what was behind the events that led him to the US.

There really isn't a lot to say about this book because it really is fairly superficial. The main thing is that Cyprus finally comes clean to his pack about the events that led to him taking over the pack.

Also, I'm not sure what it was about this book in particular, but I really did have a problem with the narration. The narrator was Felicity Munroe and I went and looked back and she has narrated quite a few of these books. I don't know if it just hit me the wrong way this time, or if I've had a problem in the past and when I went to write the review I just didn't pay attention. It takes a lot for me to mention narration so like I said, it might have just been a bad day.

I am still a bigger fan of the main series but am enjoying this spinoff when I need something light and easy to read and/or listen to.

I enjoyed the 2nd spin-off Dragonfury book a bit more then the first, I felt this one had much more character development and actual conversation between the two main characters.
I think the only thing was a couple of issues seemed to be dismissed really easily after they happened, eg Cyprus taking the beating from his warriors, then all good to go fight the enemy and Elise was concerned about her life and best friend but then no further mention of them and the loss of their mountain lair but oh well we have aother. Minor things that get glossed over in novellas.
Love Cyprus and Elise great couple and I think they had really good chemistry together.
We got a little more background/perspective on the incident with Forge and his family, hopefully it will come full circle and Forge can be reunited with his cousins eventually.
Loving the other Dragons and I'm really looking forward to more from them.
Overall a great addition to the series.

This book continues with the Scottish clan in the Dragon Fury world. This is the clan that Forge came from although, to him and the rest of the Dragon Fury warriors, this clan has been wiped out. I can't wait until everyone figures out they have some support and love from across the pond.

This one follows Cyprus and Elise. Elise walks in to a stand off between Cyprus and another dragon int he middle of a church in Scotland. Cyprus does everything he can to protect Elise. He quickly realizes she is a high energy female and his mate.

Lots of fighting, action and loving going on in this book. Great to see the other Dragon's in the clan and get a bit of their personalities as well. Lots of healing still needs to happen before Dragon world is whole again. Looking forward to seeing how the author is going to accomplish that. Great read!

I was right, ohhh so excited !!! I knew they were Forge’s cousins, they had to be. However, we finally know that happened and even if Forge doesn’t like his cousins, let's say they didn’t have an easy life.

After the death of his uncle, Cyprus the oldest is choose to take the lead of the Scotland pack. As a leader, his fierce, strong but haunted by his past actions. And poor Elise, her first dragon experience was traumatizing, I don’t what’s worse between being attacked by a dragon psychopath or being thrown into the sky and feeling the earth approaching at fast speed.

Except this, the story is great, they have a cute relationship and he gave her the best gift ever: books !!
A little quote showing how much Elise is smart in a tough situation “Cooperate? Go willingly? The advice gave her a bad case of the shakes”

Exciting and sexy

Ahh, sexy dragons with an accent! It doesn't get much better. The Scottish pack faces a new enemy in book #2, a dragon from the past come back to Scotland to make trouble.
Cyprus is the leader of the Scottish pack with a terrible secret he is keeping from his pack. Hunting a pack of rogue dragons that have come into their territory he is faced with the ugly truth about the past.
Elise is a book nerd who works at the museum in Scotland conserving old books. Her life is altered when going g to interview with a priest about converging old books and manuscripts for the church and all hell breaks loose.

Great! It did not disappoint:

Thanks Mrs. Callahan for such a well written book. It was worth the time I had to wait. Please don't make us wait so long again.

I don't know if it really take so long to write a great book, but please release them close together again. I have to find all your books in hardback to add to my library. You are too good of a writer for me to own just the kindle version.

I've always adored the Dragonfury books and this one is no exception. It was exciting, sometimes a bit terrifying, definitely sexy. All in all a wonderful book. Just so you followers of the Dragonfuries know, there was a single reference to FORGE. I sure hope Coreene is planning a lot more books. Only two in this pack are now mated, lots more to find mates for... and perhaps expand the pack. One can only hope. PLEASE COREENE give us some more and tie in Forge to this pack. HEA A must read.

Breath taking action.

This second installment of the Scotland series is better than the first one. Breath taking action. The inner clan conflict was an interesting twist with a nice, well okay - not so nice, resolution. I liked the featured couple and am finding more to like with the other clan brothers. However, the introduction of a villain, that was not vanquished, left the saga wide open for further chaos. I will be looking forward to the next book.

This second book to the series was so much better than the first! I am so glad that I gave it a chance. I am a huge fan of the Nightfury series and decided to give this another chance because this pack is mentioned in the 7th book. Finding out what exactly happened to Forge's family was worth reading this book in itself. I still don't think the characters are as developed as the Nightfury series but it's still good and worth reading.

Great story! Terrible editing

It’s getting harder and harder to enjoy these books. I love the storyline and the characters. The editing is bad. There are spelling and grammatical errors everywhere throughout the book. The author really needs to do a better job. I’ve never read so many books with bad editing and errors. It takes away from the story and the characters and ruins a good book.

A New Dragon

I have followed the Dragonfury Series from the first book. Each one is exciting and adventuresome. The latest book introduces the leader of what is left of the Scottish group. Some mysteries of what happened to Forge are being revealed. As always we are left with more questions and more entertaining characters.

A good read.

Love getting the full story of what happened to Forge's family. I think the only thing that would make me like these books better would be if they were longer and incorporated more PoVs. The author does a good job of omitting boring detail, but sometimes I feel cheated and wish for more depth.

Excellent Series

Coreene Callahan's Fury of Shadows, the second book in the Dragonfury Scotland series was an exciting thrill ride with delightful characters. Cyprus and Elise were perfect for each other and the other dragons each helped spice up the story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Good but things left unsaid

Definitely a book recommended to read, as is all of Coreene’s books are. But this one left too many subjects unclosed. The main female had family and a best friend at the beginning and other than a small tweak of consideration initially, was never brought up again. The blind moving on from the former lives seems too flip.

Cyprus, leader of the Scotland dragon pack, discovers a high energy female at the same time as a rogue male. Who will win her and how? A bit short but still exciting. More love and war from Coreen Callahan!

Novellas, ughhhh

This is why I hate them! Love, hate, eh...always too short of course but even worse with unanswered questions left hanging. Still, a good read and characters I'd love to know more about.
