Resurrected Bride

Rate this book
I refuse to be a link in the chain of family duty…or a shiny toy to my new mafia husband.

I believed my father lost his life in a motorcycle accident.
I thought my mother died from a slip and fall.
The day I learn that I’m next on the hit list, I’m torn away from my life, kidnapped and tossed into Hell. I’m strong, but not this strong. I cannot become the next bride in the Rossi family of organized crime.
Worse, I can’t play whore to Kenzo, the brother I’ve heard possesses the darkest appetites. I must escape before it’s too late to save myself…or my body from giving in to this terrible, mind-spinning desire he instills in me with a single look.
I come from one of the strongest families in Russia. My roots run deep. I’m a Nikolai, and I will get away before the Rossis force me into this marriage.
But Kenzo says he’d like to see me try.

If a woman determined to rise from the ashes and powerful, arrogant men who rule the dark underworld—and are good with a paddle—are your thing, you’re in for a rough and dirty ride with RESURRECTED BRIDE. Do you dare to open the door and look upon the darkness? 1-click this book now.

“Resurrected Bride” is the third book in the ‘Blood Empire’ series by Blake York. If you haven’t read either of the other books in the series, you’ll still be able to understand the plot. Each book focuses on a different member of the Rossi crime family

Kenzo is the third of the five Rossi brothers. His father has arranged a marriage for him to Camila, a woman who’s a stranger to him personally, although he knows of her family. Of course, it’s not a simple and straightforward situation. I don’t want to say too much about the plot because there are some twists to it that it’s better for you to discover on your own. I don’t want to be responsible for ruining that for you. Be assured that Camila (and Kenzo) are in for some serious surprises. Not everybody is who they initially appear to be. There’s some violence but nothing at all over the top for a mafia story.

Kenzo is into BDSM and is a Dominant. One problem I had with the book is that his brothers don’t seem to really know that about him, even though he has some serious equipment in his bedroom. I found that a bit confusing. Regardless, Camila has a lot to learn and adjust to when she is brought to the Rossi household. And, Kenzo finds out that he had important things to learn as well. The crime part of the story was good, but I thought the evolving dynamic between Kenzo and Camila was even more interesting. This book does a good job of holding your attention. I’m looking forward to reading about the next brother to be featured.

not as good as the others

This was disappointing. More of a “slam, bam, thank you ma’am” with some amateurish BDSm thrown in. No development of the relationship, just lots of anger, violence, and angry sex with toys all thrown together. I expected a lot better.

Kenzo is on a mission to find the paperwork that means he can take a mafia bride but he ends up with the woman in question as a captive.
Camila is forced into marrying this violent man but she has lost everything in her old life.
Her parents both died but it probably wasn't accidental and now she's married to a man who loves to cause pain.
Attempting to escape opens her eyes to the fact she is next to be killed.
This man may be part of an organized crime family but he will keep her alive.
She doesn't want him but can't deny he awakens lust in her with just a look and a slight touch.
Camila needs to remember she is a strong woman with Russian roots in order to remain unbroken by her new husband.

I like mafia romance so this was right up my alley with its plot.
I was happy that Camila is a fighter and doesn't take everything put upon her.
Kendo seems to enjoy her fight and her trying to escape presents a challenge.
This contains bdsm scenes and while there isn't any consent, it seems the bride isn't completely resistant.
I liked the storyline which differs from usual arranged marriage style books.
This was wonderfully written and I was captivated by the main characters interactions.
This man may not be as cold as first thought.

This is a new author to me & I really enjoyed reading this suspenseful dark mafia romance. The storyline was easy to follow even though I did not read the previous books in this series and I found the plot well-written & filled with just the right amount of intrigue & drama which definitely kept my attention all the way until the end. The characters are extremely interesting with opposing personalities & are inclined to be quite confrontational but ultimately complement each other.
There is: a man (Kenzo Rossi) with dark desires, a woman (Camila Nikolai) trying to escape her fate, Camila’s despicable uncle (Alexander Nikolai) with devious intentions, an unwanted forced marriage, family issues, crime syndicates, arson, action, drama, suspense, intrigue, conspiracies, secrets, trust issues, twists & turns, escape attempts, discipline, domination/submission, BDSM, threats, danger, enemies, vengeful feelings, suspicions, confrontations, steamy scenes, love, contentment & a satisfying conclusion with an interesting epilogue.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Blood Empire series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Kenzo sexy as all get out third Rossi brother, so not looking forward to an arranged marriage and has deliciously dark dominate ways. Camila intelligent, lost bother parents (suspiciously) and a pawn in her uncle’s end game he is the one who set up the forced unwanted marriage on her. She wants nothing more than to get away from Kenzo, fights him on every turn and the chemistry is insanely intense and the magnetic pull is there but clouded by the forced situation she finds herself in but will he get his way as usual, will she be able to escape, where is her uncle headed, and can they find happiness through it all?

Kenzo's Marriage!
by sewsummore

Abducted and forced to marry the son of a rival mafia family Camilla had no love for the man she married. While Kenzo had no desire to marry anyone, but was determined to gain her submission. I enjoyed this story, the characters were believable and the story-line absorbing. Camilla is an innocent young woman with a feisty temper but she soon falls under her husband's spell. After she learns of her uncle's betrayal and her father's desire for her marriage to Kenzo she realizes that Kenzo is not her enemy. This book quickly grabbed attention, the characterisation was very well done and the story-line flowed quickly leaving me eager read to the end.

This is Book 3 in the Blood Empire Series by this author. It is a suspenseful romance between Kenzo and Camila. These flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. What starts out as an arranged marriage turns into something more. It is a wild ride with drama, action, steam, mafia dynamic, twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner with a healthy dose of sexual tension and chemistry, drama and passion, action and suspense. A good addition to the series. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.

These Rossi boys and their father are determined, ruthless, cruel, and bound to their family and their mafia clan. When their father determines it's time to marry, he arranges the marriages with how it will make their family stronger. When he decides Kenzo should marry Camila Nikolai, it will be done, in spite of her father's death, her mother's death, and her attempted death. The book has D/dynamics, twists, turns, steam, action, betrayal, and more. A great addition to the series and you can binge read the entire series for FREE with your KU Subscription.

3.5 stars. Kenzo was the brother that went missing in book 2 and we find out what happened. In the meantime his father made a marriage arrangement with Camila’s father and she comes to be captive in his home.

Unlike books 1 and 2, there is not as much story. Most of the book concentrates on Kenzo’s D/s interests and bringing his wife along that path. The scenes were varied but got to be too much after awhile. Too much meaning I’d have like better balance between the steam and the story.

five brothers who are forced by their tough mafia father to get married in order to expand the mafia empire. I have read the books of the first brothers so I enjoyed reading this one as well. It;s well written, but I didn;t seem to click with the main characters. Complicated dynamics between the two, all kinds of feelings that I don;t find completely clear, characters that I dont find completely sympathetic, in short, I dont really know what to think. Not bad, but not my favorite either

Book 3 of the Blood Empire series focuses on Kenzo Rossi and Camila Nikolai and is completely scorching. While they are both resistant to the idea of them married, they bring out something in each other but it takes time and full trust. Kenzo is into dark twisted things and he uses his tastes to break Camila down, only to realize that she craves and wants it to. They really are made for each other and together they complete the other perfectly.

This is book three of the Blood Empire And features Kenzo and Camila. Kenzo doesn’t want a wife or woman unless it’s his choice, but can Camila become that? He saves her from a fire set by an important character who is expanded later in the book. Camila not only is resurrected from the fire, but also from her previous confined life. Very good read!

The brother with the darkest kink. Book has suspense steam and gives you goose bumps. If you love dark mafia arranged marriages with HEA you are going to love this book.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Blake York; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the 3rd book in the Blood Empire Series; it is a stand-alone book but would be better if read in order. The story is about Camila & Kenzo; his father has arranged a marriage between them but she doesn’t want any part of it. She finds out that both her parents were killed and she’s next.

Not that bad of a story but the characters could've used more dimension and there were certain areas that needed more flushing out instead of being rushed through not sure if I'd read this one again but it has a good amount of promise and if you need an In-between read that isn't too heavy this one isn't that bad.

I have read the previous two books and I am in love with the alpha Rossi men in this action packed story. They take what they want and will not apologize for it. Kenzo is the dominant in and out of the bedroom. He needs to be in control. What happens to that control when he meets his match in Camila?

Impressive

This one really was impressive. The couple are hiding from their real feelings but each gives the other what they really need which sets them free to be themselves. The story was complete and gave a peak into what was coming next.

Another disappointing arranged marriage with the same "read and repeat" plot; Kidnapped bride and unwilling groom. If authors are going to write about ridiculous arranged marriages among people who don't even know each other in the 21st century, then they need to find a "gotcha" to keep a reader invested which has nothing to do with sexual kink or sex toys. "Been there and read that". If you are going to do a 50 Shades theme then stick to that. There must be some realism that reflects in the 21st century that makes this overwritten plot special to a reader. Fiction doesn't equal fantasy.

Kenzo and Camila character's did not have the "staying power" to keep my interest. The h starts out strong only to cave into guess what......lust and sex. I guess if all else fails just throw in a little kink and readers are happy. I never felt a connection with either character which is important to me as reader in any novel.

The whole bullying tactic/forced marriage used by said families in these fiction pieces need something different from the usual "neither party has a choice in the matter". Time for authors to bring another element to arranged marriages that is different and interesting.

I will continue to seek out the authors who are not afraid to offer the reader something unique and original when it comes to arranged marriage tropes.
