Rebecca Rennick, known to her friends as Becca was born in California but has since converted into a Floridian. Along with her husband, and dog. With love for both horror films and the Hallmark Channel, she can be a little dark and creepy while wearing all pastel pink. Growing up in the theater led to her studying fashion in San Francisco where she received a BFA in fashion design. She has many obsessions such as tattoos on herself and others. As well as an unhealthy desire to see the entire world. Her only other true passion is eating. She loves to try everything at least once. You only have one life and you might as well try it all. Serious triggers in this read!

Ok I went from gushing about how brilliant book one was to cringing and anxious in book 2! I am NOT a fan of rape, especially described in detail! I will tell you I skipped whole sections once I realized were this book was headed. I also don't like that if you are going to include rape, physical or mental abuse, drug addiction you handle it in a certain way not just basically move on with the story. Sympathy and gently telling or at least show responsibility to the subjects by writing it gracefully to the victims, recovering addicts and your readers should be considered. I REALLY REALLY liked book one but I can't take a chance I'll read another book like this one and continue on with this series. Sadly this is end of the road for these characters/author for me.

This book NEEDS TRIGGER WARNINGS! I am not the type of person that is easily triggered but I had to step away from this book several times due to the DETAILED rape scenes. It should’ve been fade to black and it should have had SEVERAL trigger warnings in the description of the book and at the beginning of it.

Trigger warning, mention of r***. I’m disappointed and disgusted that I read this book. I really enjoyed the first one, but this book I was thrust into a very graphic rape fantasy. There were absolutely zero trigger warning in any part of the book which I desperately needed. I did not consent to reading about this and will not read another book by this author.

Usually part two would complement part one in a series but part two, Clover was, , , EXPLOSIVE all on its own!
A word of warning though, this is NOT for the weak. It is gritty and raw and may cause triggers for some.
Clover is a strong, smart and sassy woman who does not give up. She definitely proves it's not
the size of the dog but, the fight in the dog that counts. And she is in love with Nix.
Phoenix has been turned into his enemies errand boy and he hates it. But security is what his family does for the
Syndicate. (they're the good bad guys) He was a complete man-whore until he met Clover. She's it for him.
When Braxton Shaw, a sicko with an old score to settle, sets his sights on Clover, Nix knows him for the snake he is
and keeps a close eye on the love of his life.
After an attempt on his life, Nix knows His enemy wants him dead. Braxton now has Clover and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her.
But so is Nix. He's an animal and it's time to hunt!
Clover is my GIRL! With all that Braxton does to her, (this man is psychotic. the things he did to her,,, augh! monster!),she continues to fight
him.
When you feel like's all over for her, she's thinking, "He can try to break me, but he won't succeed" Strength!
When Nix and he family get to her, he's not afraid to show her the caring and vulnerable side he has just for her.
All of the Coltons pulled together as a family to protect their loved one. And payback is, , , OMG!!!
After reading these first two, I'm chomping at the bit waiting on the next one!
Great characters. Action. Steamy. HFN.

I enjoyed this book so much! Rennick's characters were well thought out and they played perfectly together. There was enough suspense, angst, and overall community in this North Carolina town.

Clover is a bartender for the Colton family. There are a multitude of mom's, dad's, aunt's, cousins, brother's and sister's. This whole family makes up a branch of the mob syndicate. Clover is not afraid to wheel a shotgun, or tell somebody to flock off! She is tiny, gorgeous, and all sass and swagger. Off the bat, she catches Phoenix/Nix attention, and an unsavory man's attention. Clover chooses Nix, and in return she gets his whole family. They love her.

Nix has never felt this way about a woman. This is clearly unfamiliar territory because he has never been smitten or in love. He does not know how to speak these words, or tell her his feelings. Before he is able to tell her how he feels, she is kidnapped. He will do whatever it takes to get her back.

I recommend this book! Readers will love this one! I look forward to the rest of the series!

[Escape to the pages]

This book is a direct continuation from Phoenix and so the action kicks off straight away.

The hard fought for embers of the relationship that have been merrily burning away between Clover and Phoenix are set even more alight by what happened and the way this is written is truly emotionally taxing. All the feels come with this book as well as tough to read violence and mental struggles and the opposite end of the spectrum being the page turning romance between Nic and Clover.

The whole Colton family return in this story and are a stellar supporting cast, bringing moments of depth as well as moments of humour.

A fantastic read and semi conclusion to Clover and Phoenix though I’m hopeful we will still see a lot of them in the coming books.

Up next our favourite baker….I am very much looking forward to Magnus’ story.

Justice served

Firstly, this book has major triggers and there is no author trigger warnings - humiliation, abuse, abduction, torture.

So, the story was...not quite as good as book one. Not sure why, maybe it’s the padding - there’s a lot of padding. There are several Braxton POVs which made sense cause seriously the guy is a psycho. Nix and Clovers relationship develops as do her relationships with the rest of the family. But it all felt a bit flat.

3.5 stars. HEA. Still worth the read. More to come in the series with Magnus.

Such a great 1st book, but book 2 wasn't up to same standards

I loved the first book so much and was excited to read this one. Unfortunately this one had a lot more errors in it which did make it less enjoyable to read. It also seemed overly repetitive at times and the book just moved at a snails pace. I'm also disappointed we didn't find out what really happened to Braxton, sort of felt anticlimactic to have it end like that. It almost felt like this book was written by a different person... the first book was so great.

This second book in this duet series was incredible. I loved Phoenix and Clover in the first book.I do have to warn you their is a few very intense parts and on page rape.

But this book blow me away. There is no struggle for their love more like a struggle for their lives and the life they want to have. Clover is one bad a** b***h and when she’s backed into a corner she comes out swinging. Phoenix’s love for her is intense, possessive and forever. And he would do anything to make she Clover is safe.

I’m so excited for the rest of this series. Can’t wait for Magnus’ book next.

The second book in the series picks up where Phoenix left off. The author once again brings strong characters in Clover and Nix and does a terrific job building the suspense. She brings a raw,emotional story with strong ,passionate chemistry and love,adds many ups and downs along with a cast of strong secondary characters and delivers a dark mafia romance. It's well written with vividly painted scenes,moves fluidly and is a fantastic read. Warning: it does have violence and triggers.

Nix have to find Clover, he doesn’t care that half of his family saying she probably left, he doesn’t believe that.
He knows her and he sure knows some one took her.
The people on Phoenix family who does believe he’s right helps him in any way to find her .

An overall solid continuation of the Colton Cousins series, but this one was nowhere near as memorable to me than 'Phoenix' was. I wish it would have been s little more grittier and darker in the beginning sections where Clover was kidnapped by Braxton. Felt very surface level and shallow at times. I did enjoy Braxton's suffering later and the steam between Nix and Clover. Can't wait to see more from this author.

Good read

Satisfied with the ending. It leaves some things open, but wraps up the story nicely too. So if you don’t want to read more about the Coltons you would be able to stop with this book and not feel deprived. The internal dialogue bothered me more in this book, but I still enjoyed it.

I loved this book! It's a sequel and it was terrific. The story picks up with Clover being kidnapped by a psycho. From there it just gets better and better. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are amazing and it is hot... You will not regret reading this. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

These two. What a pair! Back and forth they go. Are they a couple or not? Manwhore Nix has quite the past where Clover is trying to reinvent herself. They each think they know each other but do they?

The Colton Family strikes again. Everyone has their own life but when one is in trouble they all band together and what a great band they are.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.

Am hoping there is going to be a third book or at least one about marcus. I would also like to read that story.

Clover has been taken from Nix (Phoenix), will he willing to do what it takes to get her back? Will Clover be broken by the man who took her? I loved this page turning book, my heart was in my mouth for most of this dangerous wild ride. I love Clover's feisty attitude, she certainly can be cutting (mostly to those who deserve it). I loved the danger, revenge, colourful language, angst and the whole Colton family (including Nix who is broken but so easy to love).

As soon as I reached the end of Phoenix I instantly started looking forward to this second installment! I wasn't sure what all was going to happen next in this story but I couldn't wait to find out! I enjoyed this second book!

Clover and Nix's journey continues! It wasn't easy. Once again I felt so much with these two characters. I wasn't sure how their story was going to play out in this installment and that got me into it even more.

I absolutely love this series! I would love to be a part of the Colton family! This is the 2nd book in the series and you should definitely read the 1st book to get the background and so you know what is going on. This is the story of Phoenix (Nix) and Clover. Nix and Clover finally got together towards the end of the first story and still haven’t really told anyone. Clover is definitely changing Nix and he never thought he would feel like this. Clover is sassy, feisty, stubborn, a fighter and a very strong woman. Braxton Shaw is another member of the Syndicate. Once he sets his sights on Clover, he will do anything to have her. Unfortunately, he is able to kidnap her while Nix is running an errand for him. Braxton is DEFINTIELY the bad guy in this story. The things he did, had me wishing I could castrate hjm!

Your emotions will be all over the place – there is drama, action, tragedy, deception, violence, triggers, passion and loyalty. There are so many ups and downs and twists and turns, that it was very hard for me to put my Kindle down. I’m anxious to see what happens next and can’t wait for the next book to come out. Clover picks up right where things left off in Phoenix and I couldn’t wait to dive back into to see where things were going to go!

Nix is determined to get Clover back. He will stop at nothing to find her and to have her back and safe with him. He loves fiercely and is incredibly protective of her. Clover is a fighter. She never gives up hope that she will be found. She never gives up and continues to fight for her life. I love Nix and Clover so much. There is chemistry, there is passion and there is so much emotion. The two of them truly balance each other out. They are both broken but their broken pieces fit together so well.

This story was full of ups and downs from the start but I loved seeing Nix and Clover’s relationship progress and Clover become a strong woman.

I absolutely love the entire Colton Family. While they are cousins, they are also best friends. The love and support this family have not only for each other, but also for Clover is fantastic. You know this bunch will do anything to help and protect each other.

There are some things in this book that will be difficult for some people to read. This story is dark and there is violence mixed in.

I can’t wait for more of the Colton cousins and my favorite one is up next. I am so ready for Magnus!
