Salt friend is the best, yes am saying it, best Manhua have read this year, and I was so captivated am searching all over the internet for it, only to realize only Chinese physical is available, and I bet it's chapters ahead? have been on the fence since Forever, please I don't wanna grow up and still be waiting for more chapters upload, cause I'd literally wait till then

Salt Friend is a quick and cute read about a friendship that blossoms into a romance. The writing is nice, and I appreciate the slow build up. I am also not a big fun of huge misunderstandings, miscommunications, and love-triangles so I appreciate not having any of that in this Manhua. It is more of a slice of life than a romance (which I prefer). The plot is starting to get more serious where I stopped, and I am looking forward to see what happens next.

The artstyle is cute and beautiful, and I love the character designs. Since there aren't that many characters, all the characters present in the story are quite distinguishable. That's an important factor for me, because I don't want to get confused while reading XD

I am not giving this Manhua 5/5 stars because it is not really impactful so far. Yes it is a fun and quick read, but that is it for now. I hope to see the plot get more interesting in the future ^^

This is cute, but it's not doing much to break the mould. The character dynamics are interesting, and not what I was initially expecting from the premise. The 'delinquent' character turned out to be the golden retriever within the couple, and the straight-A student is the mysterious silent type. I'm far more invested in the side couple - the little brother and the prince-character. They have a genuinely interesting dynamic.

I also found the inconsistent art quality quite distracting. There were excellent panels and passable panels right next to each other. The artist clearly improves over the series, but it's jarring when a particularly bad panel pops up.

It's ongoing, unfortunately, so I doubt I'll ever go back to it, but I was invested enough to finish it if it had been complete.

I love this webtoon so, soooo much!
This is friggin' cute. I've read it twice waiting for updates, still waiting for something juicy.
It may be better to have more seasons without it being all in one and having to wait with no appointment... Still everytime I remember to check and there's more chapters it puts a smile on my face.
What is this? slice of life, schoolmates, friends to lovers, bl, n.1 boy meets last boy of the school, zen guy + chaotic mess.

Lâu lâu đọc mấy bộ manhua học đường healing kiểu này đúng là lựa chọn không gì sánh bằng. Motip couple 1 lạnh lùng x 1 ấm áp không có gì lạ nhưng vẫn có sức hút kì lạ với mình khi nhìn mấy cái hint ngập trời của Tiêu Chân và Đồng Dương. Tui cũng muốn có một tình yêu thiếu niên dễ thương như vậy. Gahhhh! (gào thét) Cặp phụ cũng được, tấu hề nhiều :)))

3/22/23: Currently at Ch155.
The manhua cover (not this one) caught my eye. I wasn't sure if I would like it enough to catch up to over 150 chapters but, I'll damned caused I did! The art in the beginning wasn't that great, however, the story and characters kept me laughing and interested enough to keep reading. The chapters were short and sweet so, it didn't take long to catch up. The art has def come a long way! Xiao Zhen and Tong Yang are super cute and loved seeing their friendship slowly blossom into a romance. I get such a kick out of Xiao Zheng and Bai Yinuo lol Can't wait for them to get together! We're finally getting into the backstory - so far, Tong Yang's brother seems like a good guy, overprotective for sure but, it seems like he has his little brother's best interest at heart. Will be interesting to see where this goes.
