A poetry collection and poetry activity book all in one! Encourages children to say hello, meet words, and find their own poetic voice!
Step inside and say hello to words. Beware! They just might talk back. You'll discover that words can be silly, serious, and even scary when you meet each poem in this collection. From ghost story legends of North Carolina to an oceanographer or word creator, you never know what the next page will hold. Maybe you'll consider a new perspective or ask questions. Maybe you'll write your own poetry and accept the writing challenges! I dare you to take a peek and not be shy. Read, write, and share your poetry today! Hello Words can help you do just that!
Jen Lowry's collection of poems will inspire poets to honor their blank pages and say hello to new possibilities. A poem is waiting to be written by YOU! All you need to do is say hello. This special collection belongs on a classroom shelf, in a homeschool library, and in the hands of families! It will make a great gift for a young poet or someone who loves to play with words! The challenges are for all ages! Will you accept?
Jen Lowry is North Carolina born and raised, still holding on to that country slang that is unique to the small town of Maxton she loves so much in Robeson County. She an avid enthusiast of all things horror, UFC, and binge watches old episodes of Quantum Leap. She finds herself comfier in a pair of pajamas and would make all public appearances in them if she could get away with it. When she isn’t literacy coaching, life coaching, or homeschooling her two fabulous boys, she can be found napping or singing loudly, probably napping. Jen has her doctorate degree in Christian Ministry and is a member of Raleigh First Assembly. Fantastic challenges for young poets (and old ones, too!)
This book is so sweet! The poems are unique and perfect for the challenge attached to each! When my daughter gets old enough to read and write well, I'm definitely doing this with her! My favorite poem is called, "Remember," it uses the word, "Catawampus," and I absolutely love it. Do yourself a favor, and read this book and take a challenge or two!
