I can’t believe we are at the end of this amazing series! A fantastic fantasy series that has had me hook, line and sinker since the very beginning. It’s well written, fast paced, it’s full of action, adventure, mystery and intrigue and the twists and turns have been phenomenal. The amazing characters have grown and developed and I have loved being with them on their exciting and gripping journey. Questions have been answered and the final showdown fought and all with an ending worthy of this fantastic series!

This is book seven and the finale of the Twisted Magic series and sees Saf and her group facing the final dark witch, Fleur Descoteaux, who is not quite as she seems. She separates Saf from her group and takes her on her magic train for a ride. She wants Saf to help her stop the person who managed to break into the supposedly impenetrable vault of the consortium. Saf needs to play her cards carefully and not antagonise someone powerful, who could be an ally against the fifth god. The truth about his identity and the links to some of her group are quite shocking. The only way Saf’s group might have any chance of defeating the god is to form an army and this will draw most of them back into the Dark Lands, the prison world of the consortium, and offer a chance for freedom to the people who have spent thousands of years there. She wants the chance to right the wrongs of the consortium, especially for Amari and her father, but there will be some surprises awaiting them and none of them are pleasant! A high price is going to be paid by those in the Dark Lands, as they have to face creatures and destruction of the gods.
Saf has to face her past and her twin sister Jada, who she hasn’t seen for a number of years, since they were teens and she dumped Randall and moved away with a handsome looking star. The truths that Randall revealed about her sister Jada and how she treated all those around her at school, breaks the reality of what Saf thought she knew about her twin sister and their relationship. She has always thought her own magic was lacking in strength and her sister had always put her down and was far more organised and daring than Saf. They had shared their magic, but Jada was keeping a lot from her as they grew up together, and was the most popular of the pair. Saf may have to make the ultimate sacrifice if her side is to win the final battle for their world and not see it completely destroyed in the five thousand year fight between the five original gods and their followers. Some will not make it to the end and their loses will hit hard. Saf and her group will gather more allies, but the price of joining Saf is high. Jada wants to bind others powers to herself, to make herself more powerful. Saf needs to go back to the vault, but someone else has gotten there before them. A final showdown with her sister is coming and will leave her fighting to access their magic for good, while her sister fights to use it for evil. Some will be left with their magic bound to another and having to live a new life with no magic and a complete change in their own identity. The gods of the consortium will have to be corralled and new members recruited to the quorum, with a new take on their responsibilities and powers. A shocking finale that brings an ending to the journey that Saf, Randall and Fiona first started, when they got stuck in something they didn’t expect. “Twisted Destiny” is the seventh and final instalment in the “Twisted Magic” mystery urban fantasy series by Rainy Kaye, whose main character (Safiya Morgan) originally worked as a life coach for both ‘normal’ and supernatural clients, in a small town (Green River) in Nebraska, and whose path has led her the seals and put her in the way of the Consortium at the very same time.

After her stint in Sweden, Safiya is uniting forces with Fleur Descoteaux, the seventh dark mage, who seeks Safiya’s help in tracking down the one responsible for the vault breach. While they might be united on the quest, they are surely not on the same side. For Safiya, that should not come as a surprise, as her quest have left her in clash with all her former friends and allies, but to be able to save the future Safiya will have to travel back to the Dark Lands, and realize her own role in the unfolding of the events at hand.

A thrilling, captivating story, fast-paced and action-packed, with interesting characters and a well-balanced mix between pure action, character development and world-building. Nicely written and easy-to-follow and read, with an enticing plot and a satisfactory resolution.

Like all the other books in this series there is so much action and adventure in this novel that it is barely contained. Safiya and her group are finally facing off against the ultimate villain and, like always, things do not go as planned. We finally discover what it is that is driving the dark mages and why Safiya's magic is the way that it is. The ending left me a tiny bit unfulfilled but overall this was an excellent addition to the series and an excellent end to the series.

Most of the time following one's destiny is not what they think that it will be. Twists and turns always make it an interesting journey and a great series! I really loved reading this series and feel that the ending was well done. I loved this series!!!

This is the best book of the series by far. All the puzzle pieces have been put together. It was easy to sit and read this book without stopping. You hit the ground running and kept going until the very end.

Amazing character depth across the series, good world building, although a tad confusing at times, and a very interesting and twisted storyline.
