Address the gender and marriage issues head on! This book, using God’s Word as the absolute standard for morality, addresses many tough questions and topics surrounding the gender and homosexual revolution that is unfolding in our society.
Bodie Hodge is the author of Fall of Satan and co-author of Dragons: Legends and Lore of Dinosaurs. He is on the staff of Answers in Genesis, and is a speaker, writer, contributor, and researcher on a host of topics related to apologetics, biblical history, and the book of Genesis.
A very thoughtful, gentle, and informative explanation of what is really going on with LGBTQ+ ideas today. All Christians should read this book to understand Biblical response to such tough topics that our society is embracing today. We are to always speak the truth with love, not being transformed by the culture, but being light for Christ to shine through and transform the culture for Him. These two paragraphs summarize well what this book demonstrates from Scripture for all those engaged in any variant of the LGBTQ+ lifestyle: "We do not declare homosexuality as sinful on our own authority. We only do so because the authoritative Word from our Creator says it is so. That may not be comfortable for everyone, but that doesn't make it untrue. Those who engage in same sex acts are in rebellion against their Creator, just like every other sinner. And all will one day stand before Him and give an account of their actions and thought. Our desire is that they will repent and trust in Christ, receiving His free offer of salvation before it is too late. "This message is increasingly being condemned as hateful and intolerant, but the most loving thing a person can do is direct someone to Christ. We love all people, recognize their inherent worth and dignity as image-bearers of our Creator, and understand they are an eternal soul that will dwell forever either with Christ in heaven or without Him in hell. Because of this, we want to direct them to the grace, compassion, and forgiveness that comes from Jesus Christ and Him alone."
In our current state of things, gender and marriage are two of the hot button issues of the day. Too often, Christian believers are seen as the intolerant and hateful group, when in reality that is not true. Christians do not hate, but rather stand firm in the truth of the Bible. This book is small but makes a big impact on these subjects. It is written with clarity, honesty, a Biblical foundation and love. It does a great job of explaining the truth of what is going on in the world and the truth of the Word so both the believer and non-believer can benefit from it. This is one of the best little books on the subject I have read.
An excellent resource on the topic of gender and marriage. With the "redefining" of the terms, it is more important than ever to be reminded what the Bible clearly teaches and for Christians to remain steadfast on what the Bible teaches. This book helps do that, by the constant use of Bible passages. It isn't mainly opinions with a few Bible verses, but rather many Bible verses with some commentary.
3.5 stars This book covers the topics in a little more cursory way than I would have liked. Also, the footnote numbers didn't always match each chapter's footnotes, so the book needs a better proofreading.
I really appreciate books like this. In a society where we are constantly inundated with conflicting views, it can be hard to stick to your convictions. It can also be hard to find good sources to hear differing sides of specific views, but this book covers it all. If you need encouragement to stick to your convictions or if you want to better understand why Christians believe what they believe, this is the perfect book.
