This Cursed Sword Is E-Ranked ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆ Birthed by Essence.... Given form by Lifeblood.... A cursed sword rises in a tattered world....
In a city with a dungeon, Red is a sentient weapon. To grow, to survive, he must lend his power to the humans. Bonded with Raulin the heir of Bastion, he will fight and defend the last human city.
From imps, monsters, and all enemies.
And when the Northgate fails and enemies pour through... They will all learn the power of a cursed blade.
A story about a sentient sword who apparently was born in a battle but acts like a modern day anime protagonist.
Could be overlooked if there was more battle focus, which would make sense when writing about a story about a weapon, instead there’s probably 2 fight in the entire novel with 80%+ on disjointed dialog that feels like it missing a line in each conversation.
With the synopsis promising a darker tale, I didn’t really like the fact it read like a PG shounen anime, honestly the description feels like a lie.
Very interesting story. It's a sword. That is a different way of writing about a sentient sword. Usually the swords "humanness/humanity" comes from souls being trapped in the sword after they were killed, thus the humanness (don't know if that's a word). A very easy read, entertaining with unexpected twists. You think it's going one way and the it does a complete reversal and you're left completely surprised and wanting so much more writing.

With the sword comes powers and it will defend against all enemies. The city is soon overrun and now they will learn the true power of the sword. How will it fight back? Follow the sword

Written from a spiritual swords perspective. I found this a little frustrating added to by some choppy sentences. Nonetheless the story was interesting enough to keep my attention and I will consider any sequel.
This is the story of the sword. It's A sword and has some great abilities. Expect lots of violence and death. I enjoyed the MC as they are different. Look forward to the next one and more about the world.
This was an easy read and tricky putting into words. As you skim first few chapters you think, it will end one way, and that's great. But then you find that you are off the rails, and it is a very different story, and now you want a dozen sequels
This book stood out for me. The fact it is from a sentient sword finding its way in the world was certainly a different viewpoint, and it worked. There was good pace, and world building skills were excellent used. Im hoping Red has further stories as I feel there is still more to learn. Well done
I loved this book! It was an exciting and unique read that I binged uncaring of my other responsibilities. Great stuff and I can't wait for the next one!
Mistakes: Are listed on Goodreads. I only found a couple.
Plot: A sword becomes self aware.
Characters: While I expect that a living sword would be arrogant, the fact that it didn't learn anything from his first welder being crippled and this led directly to his second welder being killed took the enjoyment out of the story for me.
5/10

Cool unique concept. I can honestly say that I have not read a book that has a sentient sword as the main protagonist. There are some cool LitRPG elements with a mix of cultivation. I enjoyed the unpredictable plot.
