Rate this book
The only way they can survive...is to save each other.

Fleeing New York after a vicious assault, Dr. Evangeline Holden is hoping for a new life for her and her daughter, Madison, when she accepts a position at Harborview Hospital on the West Coast. While grocery shopping before her first day on the job, she saves the life of a pregnant woman and her baby, earning the gratitude and respect of the Stidhams, an entire family of first responders.

Tacoma Police Department's Sgt. Ryan Stidham falls ill while investigating the gruesome murder of a young girl, his infection stemming from contaminated medical equipment found at the crime scene. When he is rushed to Harborview's ER, Dr. Holden once again has a chance to save someone in the Stidham family.

Could Ryan's drug-resistant infection be related to Evangeline's assault four years prior? She struggles to find the cure while also coming to terms with the feelings she's developed for Ryan in the short time she's known him. It's a race against the clock to save Ryan and prevent the madman behind the lab-created bug from perfecting his bioweapon and unleashing it on the world.

What an incredible story it was jam packed with suspense from beginning to end and just when the reader thinks they know how it will unfold there is another twist. Ryan, Evangeline and Madison are the perfect hero/heroines and who can resist falling in love with these characters and want everything to work out. All the characters are well written, even Evangeline’s mother. The premise of this book is diabolical, but unfortunately all too plausible and we read about similar things every day in the paper and social media. R.L. Dunn does not sugar coat anything and while it is gut wrenching, it is impossible to stop reading, fortunately the ending restores our faith in humanity and is everything a reader could want.

I fell in love with R.L. Dunn’s writing when I discovered her Chase Security series so when The Cure popped up on my feed, I knew that I need to pick it up and I tell you, it was one heck of a ride that she took us on with Tacoma Police Department’s Sgt. Ryan Stidham and Dr Evangeline Holden in the beautiful Pacific Northwest that can turn out to be treacherous as you never know who might follow one there …
There is something about the way how R.L. tells stories, they pull you in and you get so invested in them that you cannot put them down and IF you do have to because your eyes are closing, you will dream about them and seriously, your imagination will go at 100 miles per hour and once you get back to the book, you find out that she is throwing a curveball into what you were able to come up with … never a dull moment … at times I just take a break and think to myself … where the heck does she take it from???!!!
I absolutely loved the whole Stidham clan and the Holden family was not too shabby either so I hope that the Cure is an opening to another series OR maybe, it gets somehow absorbed into the Chase Security series (a girl can always dream, right?)! Keep on imagining and keep on sharing the stories with us!

Ryan used to be a navy seal but now he is the head of Tacoma Police Department Special Unit and he is used to dealing with some horrific situations. Evie has gone through and dealt with so much in her life but her daughter Madison is the most important person in her life and she will do anything for her and now Evie has bought a house in Tacoma where she is going to live and her sister Is going to live with them to help look after Madison while Evie is at work as she is a doctor and going to start working at the hospital there. When Evie saves Ryan's sister in law and the baby he goes to thank Evie only to be blown away by her beauty and the instant chemistry that he feels and the connection he feels between him and Madison so he then decides to get to know them both and see how it will go but he will have to go slow as to not frighten Evie as there is something in her eyes that says that she has been hurt in past. Evie like Ryan so much but thinks no one. Will want her after what she had been through and how scarred she was by it but when Ryan is brought into the hospital and not expected to live Evie will do everything possible to save his life regardless of the cost of time. I can't express just how amazing this book was and the depth of the writing and story just kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages wondering what else would happen and omg I was not disappointed if fact it is so emotional that I couldn't stop crying with everything that was happening and I felt like I was there going through everything with them. there are so many twists and turns along with danger, betrayal, abuse, kidnapping, hope, love and some very difficult situations that makes this book so addictive. This is the first book that I have read by R L Dunn but definitely not the last and I can't wait to read more books in the future. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will definitely not be disappointed but make sure you have the tissues handy because you are definitely going to need them.

Once again RL Dunn has sucked me into a story. The Cure is a spellbinding book that I couldn’t put down. The story does involve sickness and the wicked plan to spread a dangerous bug, but is a work of fiction. Remember that. There is lots of medical jargon throughout but it was explained well enough that I followed along. Don’t panic though there is more than just medical story. Ryan and Evangeline are our main characters. The couple’s chemistry sizzles. Daughter Madison is a real cutie. I forgot what I read of the preview so this story pleasantly surprised me. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. It does not end on a cliffhanger and is happily ever after but boy what a road.

The Cure by R L Dunn was just a gripping read that I literally couldn’t put down until the end! I highly recommend to anyone that needs an escape for a little while (understand it is talking about mass sickness and a dangerous “bug” so if that’s not something you would enjoy right now skip it until this pandemic is better). I’m now a confirmed one click supporter of Miss Dunn because of her wonderful books and to me a non medical person it sounds spot on (very believable) when she’s describing everything medical wise. Go get this book!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ok,so I’m waiting for one of Robin’s books to be less of a gripping, page turner, can’t wait to see what happens next book, but I realized from Blood Obsession, the Secure Desire Series and now The Cure, this will NEVER happen! Robin continues to be absolutely amazing, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the Secure Desire Series to be released! Can hardly wait!
Congrats Robin & Krista !

I could not put this book down! This is a new to me author, and I was quite happy and look forward to reading more of her books. This was a fast-paced, buckle up and hold on thrill read. I loved the characters and little Maddie was as precocious as any four year old could be. This book did not disappoint and my only critique is that there were SO MANY characters, it was hard to juggle and keep them all in place sometimes. But they all came together and readers get their HEA.

Ok read

I felt this book needed work. I think the author has a good start to this book. The story line was a good Read however there was no real feeling to the book between the characters it was more just what they did. I also felt that the story kept cutting off at important moments without elaborating. I think if the author took some time to work on this book it could really be an outstanding book
