Salem Supernaturals #3

Dancing with My Elf

Rate this book
A delusional dragon shifter thinks I need his help.
Ha. I'm a detective. Why would I need help from an exotic dancer on a case that involves dark magic? We're searching for demons, not dollars.

Lucas is persistent, as if he’s burned his brain flying too close to the sun.

But I don't need this scaly shifter's help solving crimes. Or his all-too-personal attention.

Even if he almost entrances me while he dances by rolling his amazingly chiseled abs...

Such fine abs.

No, focus. Demons are a bigger threat than my dry spell.

So whatever he's offering, is a big, fat nope.

Fated mates and awkward introductions. Fans of New Girl and Lucifer will love the Salem Supernaturals series — paranormal chick lit with a splash of romance, comedy, and mystery!

Another terrific book to the Salem Supernaturals series! This one brings dragon shifter Lucas and Elf detective Zoe's story. It takes place in Salem,Massachusetts and has a strong cast of supporting characters. The author does a fantatsic job setting her scenes often set to music, helping you to picture everything better. I was glued to the pages right to the end and loved reading their story. Highly recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Dancing with my Elf
Supernatural Salem Series

There is a house in Salem that is owned by a witch. She rents parts of her house out to some interesting characters. Nova and Diego’s book is Rebel Spell, next comes Hot in Witch City that tells Gianna and Sebastian’s story. This book is Zoe and Lucas Story. Lucas is the sexy exotic dancer that lives with Nova, Diego and Sebastian. He is dragon shifter. Lucas seems to live in the moment and takes few things seriously. Then there is a murder outside the Strip Club.
Zoe is an Elf working with the Salem Supernatural Network. She is a detective. She enlists Nova help and they visit the Strip club, Ripped, to look for clues. Zoe and Lucas meet and there is a connection. Somehow Lucas has appointed himself as Zoe’s partner to investigate the demons and the portal. Both Zoe and Lucas have been burned by love so they ‘dance around’ each other. They investigate the demon sightings and have interesting dates. Slowly we see there is more to Lucas than an exotic dancer. Lucas is sweet and caring, who knew? He has a cat named Shadow. His date with Zoe when they go sledding sounds like a delight.

I love this series! It has it all: Sexy Shifters, Elves, Witches, Cats, Demons, Sirens and danger, humor, mystery and plenty of steam. This author sets the series in Salem. Massachusetts. She describes the scenes so well that you can actually picture houses, beaches, buildings, Strip Clubs and a Dance Club called the Danger Zone. Many scenes are usually accompanied by a music reference. I hear the music as I read. Who does not love Billy Idol and Prince among others. You might catch that the title of this book is referencing this Billy Idol song: Dancing with Myself. The last scene in the book is so sweet.

Zoe, an elf detective who reports to The Salem Supernatural Network for her assignments, discovers that another demon has been spotted slipping into a club and she won't rest until they have all been eliminated. Demons are what she hates most, having lost so much in her life to them. The club she and Nova are investigating is called Ripped, a specialized club with male exotic dancers. Nova is slightly unnerved, because one of the tenants in her house dances there, and this could be rather embarrassing for them both. She need not have worried because Lucas presents himself as an incredibly sexy human with a body made for sin, while his shifter side is a magical, beautiful dragon, over a dozen feet long from his orange head to his amethyst tale. Zoe is captivated by Lucas' performance and it is actually one of the most witty and chuckle-inducing dances ever. Imagine a firefighter onstage: "The uniform worked well for the performance. The big coat, helmet, boots, and suspenders...and the best part was the accessory - a giant hose!" When he dances just for Zoe, it's seductive and sensual, but it's also the moment that Lucas' dragon recognizes his mate. This is a delightful story that unites all of the characters from Rebel Spell and Hot in Witch City, and I do mean characters! As an added bonus, Ms. Carlisle added the epilogue from the previous book as a refresher to move you seamlessly into Dancing With My Elf. I'm looking forward to all that is yet to come for these supes!

A dragon shifter who can certainly dance to make his money seems to be way too up close and personal with Zoe, even going as far to insist she needs his help.
Zoe doesn't believe he has any skills that could help her look for the demon unless it wants a private show.
Unfortunately for her, he won't let it go and must be near her.
Zoe shows amazing restraint but she can admit his graceful moves have her captivated.
Ultimately he knows what he wants and needs but she is adamant he won't be getting it.

I loved the simple but possessive nature of the inner dragon that sees what is before him and demands.
I adored the humor and personality we see all the way through this read that really had me drawn to the pages like a moth to a light.
Lucas seems keen to deny any real connection but this is down to his past experience.
There seems to be just an added joy to the text which feeds into my love for this story... It is almost like the author injected each chapter with a unique and refreshing dollop of fun that saw banter and insult flung around easily.
This style had me clinging onto every single word until the night steadily disappeared.
I haven't enjoyed something so inspired in a while that had me wondering how quickly I could purchase the books that came before.

Lucas is an exotic dancer who meets his mate one night and she just happens to be with his roommate's girl Nova and she is trying to hide her face but of course, he recognized her on stage but the little elf with her is drawing him to her like a moth to a flame or a dragon to his mate. Lucas has no intention of having a relationship but this woman is fascinating he dances with her and cannot get her off his mind and is willing to help with the case they are working on since they found out Demons are still in Salem and they are planning on something big and seems that it is happening around the club. Zoe is a supernatural detective working on the Demon case they are killing witches and taking their powers in the area she and the Network are determined to find them and keep them from opening a new portal. She and Nova go to the club to investigate but she is so taken with Lucas she is not paying as much attention to the club as she is to the hot dancer in front of her.
Great storyline and the characters are intriguing. Action-adventure, violence, drama, romance, laugh-out-loud entertainment, love. I read an ARC via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

OMG! Hold on to your seat for an entertaining ride with twists & turns! “Dancing With My Elf” (is a play on words from a Billy Idol song ;) and totally fits this must read page-turner! This is the 3rd fan-freaking-tastic must read from the awesome ‘Salem Supernaturals’ series! ... A fresh new plot, relatable characters & clever dialogue kept me on the edge of my seat not wanting to stop! ... Add in the amazing attention-to-detail that pulls us right into the book as if we are part of the storyline, dining at fancy restaurants, dancing at hidden clubs, or sledding down a snow-covered slope! ... I am so hooked on these books, and even tho I volunteered to read this in advance, it was without any outside influences and these are my own feelings! ... Also I do buy kindle ebooks whenever I am able :) So yes, I can honestly recommend this to Adult 18+ fans of fiction and now I can’t wait for more- but of course I will ;)

Zoe is a 5 foot elf, but a bad a** detective for the Salem Supernatural Network. All Zoe ever thinks of is making weapons and the demons she's going to use them on. When she goes to the male strip club with her friend and fellow demon hunter Nova, she is not prepared for what assaults her.....A huge hunka, hunka dancing fantacy and wouldn't you know it, he so happens to be one of Nova's tenents. But she can't think of anything but demons, can she?

Now that both his roommates have found their mates, especialy his nightly chick hunting wingman Sebastian, he feels out of sorts at the house. That's not going to stop him from his love of dancing for all the ladies and hooking up with one, until he sets eyes on the cute little chick with his landlord and friend Nova. His dragon acting all crazy and saying crazy things like mate is not going to stop his non belief in mates, or is it?......No way Jose!

Can these two put away their beliefs and come to terms with reality?

Another great book in this great series!

This series has fast become one of my favorites! It has everything my spooky black heart loves.

Lucas had intrigued me right from the start. I thought to myself, there is definitely more to him and I was right! Lucas fought off the idea of mates and love. When he meets Zoe, a tough and kick butt Elf, his world is changed. I am totally in love with the world this author has created! I would love to party at the Danger Zone. I love the banter between Lucas and Zoe. Danger and evil has shown up and it’s up to the gang to find out what’s going on. Action and suspense kept me turning those pages. My heart was racing as the end was nearing. Ahhh! I was surprised and then immediately took a train to book hangover town. Yes its a real place!

I can’t say enough good things about this series. I feel like these characters have become my friends. If you’re into paranormal, strong females, sexy men, and the 80’s, you need this series in your life! You will not be disappointed. I give this 5 stars.

Dancing With My Elf, an Audiobook by Lisa Carlisle is the touching story of Luca and Zoe. She’s a detective and an elf. Luca is a dancer and a dragon. This story was soooooooo much fun to listen to!!! The banter between these two characters is delightful and snarky. Both have their own internal issues and struggles…and now, this new thing between them. There’s plenty of danger, camaraderie, deception, and oh so much fun!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this listen!

This Audiobook was fantastically narrated by Javi Wilder and Cynthia Farrell who do an excellent job bringing out all of the emotions, delight, and snark between these two. Absolutely wonderful performances!

I'm just loving this series so much and this book was a wonderful addition to it. I love that these books are so easy to read and that they are simply so much fun! The titles, covers and blurbs should clue you into what you can expect (humor, mystery and PNR). Each book is well written and focuses on its own couple. Every entry in this series kind of leads into the next book, however I do feel that they can easily be enjoyed as standalones. The chemistry sparks, the banter zings and the feels dazzle as this quirky and swoon worthy tale captures your heart and puts a great big smile on your face. This is my freely posted objective review.

I loved reading this book. It’s about a dragon shifter and an elf. Zoe, the elf, has been called to a strip club where Lucas, the dragon shifter, works as a stripper. There was an anonymous called to say a demon had been seen going into the club. Zoe and her friend and co worker Nova go to the club straight away. They don’t see any demons but Zoe gets up close and personal with Lucas’s package. When Lucas gets close his dragon immediately senses that Zoe is his mate. He doesn’t tell her though. The following day they come together again and make a plan to draw the demon out. All Lucas can think about is Zoe and he plans on pleasing her at the club. Whether that works or not you will have to read to find out ;)

fated mates

The author did a good job with this book. It was well paced, and had snappy dialogue. The banter between characters were a big part of why I liked the book. The characters were likeable, and there was a good plot line. It was sexy without it overwhelming the plot itself and had sex scenes in good places throughout the book. There weren’t an spelling errors that I caught which can really detract from a book itself because you’re trying to figure out what the author meant. All in all I liked it and would recommend it. The Hero finds his fated mate in the heroine with a HEA and no cheating.

Zoe & Lucas

She's a detective searching for demons and preventing a horrible possibility from happening. He's an exotic dancer who wants to help her because he wants her and to protect her. As a shifter, he is strong and may not be experienced but he is powerful.

They "dance" around their feelings, work to save humans from the demons and the even more dangerous possibility. Two of her besties are with two of his roommates. They are funny, sexy, and willing to do whatever it takes for their women.

Without revealing too much you'll have to read to find all the details. The characters are great, the worldbuilding, and storyline will keep you turning the pages. Enjoy.

Tracking the Demons . . .

Can a male dragon shifter exotic dancer Lucas and Elf supernatural detective Zoe find happiness? When Zoe and Nova are called to investigate a demon sighting near a club, they go inside Ripped where Lucas works. Demons had been a major problem the previous Fall when one started killing witches to steal their magic. Nova had conquered that demon and things seemed calm… but not for long. Being half-shifter, Lucas had never believed that he was meant to find a mate. It’s a good thing his dragon is not afraid to challenge his foolish belief when he recognizes Zoe as his! So when Lucas sees Zoe, he is of course smitten and decides he will help her, with or without her consent it seems. And Zoe is a tough detective who won’t tolerate interference in her work. But it’s difficult to say no to a persistent dragon. With both of them being stubborn and independent, and feeling the chemistry between them, you can be sure there will be much laughter along their journey as they clash and banter with each other. Will he break down her defenses and convince her they are meant for each other? Will Zoe find the portal that would allow many more demons to arrive; will they catch the culprits she is after to stop whatever big event that the demons are planning? The storyline is cute and the humor really works for me. The author did a fabulous job pulling the reader right into the story and I enjoyed every minute of it!

First off, I love this entire series, and I’ve been waiting impatiently for this book. Lucas is a dragon shifter that works as an exotic dancer and he loves his job. He also loves his cat, Shadow, who is strange even for a cat. But oh so adorable! He lives with Sebastian, a wolf shifter chef, and Diego, a vampire. The house that they live in is now owned by Nova, who splits her time with her boyfriend, Diego, and working at the Supernatural Network and in publishing (which was her old job before her Aunt Margaret passed). Actually seeing (reading) Lucas doing his job was unique. I’m glad I was reading and not watching it as it took me four tries to watch Magic Mike, lol. I grew up sheltered to say the least. All of his strip portions were steamy as all get out and once Nova (witch) and Zoe (elf) come in to investigate demon sightings, things go from steamy to put that AC on! Lucas never thought he would have a mate, looong story. But, his dragon has a mind of its own, lol. Things come to a head in this book and some scary stuff happens. The fight scenes are awesome. Gianna, Sebastian’s girl is hilarious. Her club, Danger Zone is awesome. I want more books! I laughed myself silly and found myself singing the songs listed and being all around silly as I read the book.

I listened to this audiobook on hoopla 🎧 and loved that they had two narrators!! That truly makes the book so much more enjoyable!!

This is the 3rd book in the Salem Supernaturals Series and pick up right where the second book left off! There is a possible demon siting at the strip club where one of Nova’s tenant Lucas works after last fall when the demons started killing witches and Nova had to fight one. Zoe is an elf detective and is trying to find the portal that Gianna’s mom mentioned to stop all of the demons. Lucas is a dragon shifter and thinks Zoe is his mate. They have to work together to try and stop the demon after a dancer is killed the works at the club. I love that this book brings in Gianna, Sebastian, Nova and Diego!! So fun seeing all 3 books come together!!

Perfect October read and great for Halloween!! Super quick and easy 🧡🎃

Zoe is on the case of a serious Demon envasion her group is trying to stop them and some nasty sirens. But her case has her all hot and bothered by one Dragon Shifter Lucas he's the complete opposite of her hes fun he dances in front of women say what yes he's a stripper. And Zoe well she's a little uptight and serious but she's scene allot of bad stuff so she doesn't have anytime in her life for romance or fun but Lucas knows what he wants or his Dragon dose his Elf Zoe oh boy. This book had just the write amount of steam some serious moments well meaning friends with maybe some bad advice and a major battle at the end.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

Zoe and Lucas

I enjoyed reading Dancing with My Elf, the storyline was enjoyable and well written with shifters, witches, action and true mates. I believe a story is only as powerful as its characters and Zoe and Lucas leaped from the page. I love stories where the hero and heroine are immediately drawn to each other, but have to overcome their own fears in addition to external obstacles. If you enjoy romances that are filled with drama, humor, danger, suspense and steamy, I highly recommend this book!.

I love this series and now it’s Lucas’s turn to find his fated mate and its one hell of a read! It made me laugh, it made me gasp and it had me cheering especially at the end! There’s action, there’s adventure, there’s fun and then there’s some steam and let’s not forget the demon hunting and fighting. I love that all previous characters are around and helping out and I just love the banter and camaraderie between them all. Fantastic storyline, awesome characters, this is another fantastic addition to this series!

Zoe is a half-elf and a detective at the Salem Supernatural Network searching for demons. Lucas is a dragon shifter and exotic dancer who offers to help Zoe because when his dragon sees Zoe he knows she belongs to him and he needs to protect her. This is an entertaining paranormal romance between two fated mates with great characters and crazy fun banter. I am loving this series and all the quirky characters. This is book 3 of Salem Supernaturals and the story of Lucas and Zoe. Zoe is an elf and Lucas a half dragon shifter. I love Lucas's character. He is such a bad body but what happens when the bad boy falls for the elf? This is a fun book that I enjoyed from the first page to the end. Each of the characters have been mentioned in each of the three books. I got to know Lucas in book one as the guy who never does relationships, but he sure has fun.

4.5 Stars. Delightful read.
Having not read the previous books in this series, I was a little unsure about starting at number 3, but it was a gorgeous, delightful read, that held up well as a standalone. I loved the characters of Lucas and Zoe - cute and steamy with depth. This was my first book by this author, but I'm definitely interested to read more.

Exotic dancer Lucas finds her mate

Zoe is an uptight driven investor for the Network but she finds herself drawn to free spirit Lucas the dragon shifter. These two fight their attraction at every turn. It was fun to see the whole crew fold Zoe into their group with dinner parties and board games.

Magic Mike - Supernatural Style

I mean what’s not to love? You get a sexy dragon shifter that’s an exotic dancer that finds his mate in a five foot elf that kicks butt! Great story. I can’t wait to read more in the series and I hope we get some amazing babies out of these couples.
