I left my ex-husband tied up for dead in Tartarus, but only I know the truth. Worse, I actually feel guilty about it.
On Olympus, I am unmoored, drifting toward my final revenge. Except, I didn’t calculate one thing in my plan—Hades’ contempt. It could tear worlds and unleash devastation. Or it could bring me to my knees.
Mortals like to say there is a fine line between love and hate, and I plan on proving just how blurry that line can get.
Indulge in a new twist on the Hades and Persephone myth where the grudges are as ancient as the gods. An intense and dark romance that begins with Of Thorns and Bones and concludes with Of Flames and Thrones. Must read in order. Must love anti-heroines. Perfect for fans who want C.N. Crawford to have a baby with K.F. Breene.
Unlike her namesake of medieval infamy, Heloise doesn’t intend to have her midlife crisis in a nunnery. She’d rather drink 🍸 and chant in 🧚🏼♀️ rings. Born with Mississippi mud in her veins, grown "Via Chicago." Written before coffee.
It was a kind of hard to follow with the flashbacks interrupting the main story. I understand that the flashbacks were necessary to understand how things where connected but it was a bit messy. It was also a little anticlimactic.
Absolutely brilliant and beautiful. Definitely throws the first book out of the park. While I loved the first book, this one is way more in depth with how not only Persephone feels but also Hades. It is full of mystery and action. I could not put the book down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. Was Hades going to give in and let Persephone do what she wanted? Was Persephone going to give up her revenge to be with her love, Hades?
I absolutely loved this story of Kore, Persephone and Wanassa. Every detail was perfectly written and thought out. The entire book has an excellently written time line to give specific background details all throughout but making all of them related to the situation or problem at hand.
The romance and love between Hades and Persephone is to die for. Pun intended..
Finishing these 2 books just remind me why I read in the first place. Literature is the way to make you travel to places beyond imagination, places shrewed by time of mythes and legends. Literature is to make you feel to open yourself to all kinds of feelings such as revenge ,thist for power, lust, apathy, despair, unconditional or unrequited love, angst , loneliness. Literature opens your eyes and mind and makes you comprehend that the distance between evil and just is not that long. With these books I went to the underword ( we call it actually hades which for us Greeks is a place and a name), I met the deathless God himself Hades and his wife Persephone and it was quite a meeting! A " fated love that it was not ment to be" . Hades who is desperately in love with his wife even though she has agreed to marry him not to love him. Persephone a tripartite chthonic goddess ancient from a time beyond traumatized vengeful and lonely. I saw the prison of Tartarus a glimpse of the Minoan civilization and of course Olympus. A different Olympus more sinister more evil and gloomy. And finally the catharsis because after the hubris there is always nemesis and at the very end catharsis one way or another. Enjoy the ride I really did. For me these 2 are still growing in me Hades and Persephone.
This was VERY different from what I've normally read in terms of Hades/Persephone tales. However, in reality--it wasn't REALLY a Hades and Persephone tale. It was a Hades/someone who was given that name later in their life. INTENSE enemies to might be lovers. This is a non-stop action fantasy novel, with a dash of spice. What spice was there wasn't always made clear, at least to me. There were some instances where I had to wonder if they did the deed or not. Lots of violence, including some with Hades and the Persephone character.
If you're looking for an adult romance Hades/Persephone type story, this is not it, IMO. If you're looking for a fantasy action with a dash of enemies to loves/spice, then I think you'd enjoy this.
World building: Good. Action/Violence: Plenty. Spice: Meh.

The first good was good, but I’m disappointed to how this book went. I still don’t know what Hades is so betrayed over, it seems that although being a god he can’t handle or accept Persephone’s valid reactions and emotions to being raped and her kids being murdered? And the ending was so randomly fixed, they felt each others feelings and it resolved it? It was a cop out to Hades actually realizing what Persephone went through, there should have been a scene when he also feels that rage and thirst for revenge Persephone felt. Also the Minthe part was utter bullshit he should have burned for disrespecting his own murdered child like that! I mean the kid was chopped up and eaten!?!?

Good. Original storyline about Persephone and Hades as well as the original Greek Gods. Enjoyed very much seeing Poseidon cameo. Dark Persephone is not for me, but I won’t mark down the author for a preference that is not mine. This is a good fantasy read.
The ending, loved. The twist, loved. There were some confusing parts again, just like the first book. But it was still good enough that I couldn’t stop reading it. It had great potential, I just wish it was a little more clear at times.
