Final Exams features four fascinating true crime cases from the files of Cyril H. Wecht, M.D., J.D., one of America’s most respected forensic pathologists.
Coauthored by crime writer Dawna Kaufmann, Final Exams explores both the technical and the human side of murder.
From the heartbreaking case of abducted child, Jessica Lunsford, held captive within shouting distance of her loved ones, to the peculiar story of a murder for hire with a most unlikely victim, Final Exams takes the reader behind the scenes. Secrets about the private lives of both predators and victims are revealed as the authors detail the events that turned rage to tragedy. Fans of CSI will appreciate how Wecht and Kaufmann share the real life process of solving crimes with clues left with the victim.
I was excited to see Ann Rule's name on this book. She is a master of the true crime genre and one of my favorite authors. While not written in Ann Rule's signature style it contains a great deal of medical information. Those who enjoy more medical detail and descriptions of procedures will find something to enjoy in this book. I recommend it for any who work in or are considering a career in forensic science.
Cyril Weigh navigates the journey through the crime scene, into the autopsy - HE is a brilliant man without the bravado of ever boasting both JD & MD.topsy to ,
I am an avid true crime reader & Ann Rule fan . I highly recommend this unique opportunity to follow 4 separate cases. Get comfortable - It's impossible to put down
If you enjoy the clinical details of autopsies and forensic medicine, this book is for you. If not, I recommend on of Ann Rule's many True Crime books. Dr. Cyril Wecht is a well known and highly respected forensic pathologist and he lends his extensive body of knowledge to the cases in this book, but those unfamiliar with medical jargon might get bogged down.
Very readable four true stories told by the most well known medical examiner in the country. These accounts gave me a great insight to Dr. Wecht's profession.
