Two weeks ago, I logged my first failure as an Oracle. Two days ago, I learned that magic is a fickle thing. Two hours ago, I unleashed a posse of the undead.Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, they did.Not only did I need to figure out how to free Nina, I had a new consultant. Double booked is an understatement. Now, I must discover why Hazel Dane, one of the most stressed out--and most impolite--consultants I've ever had is cursed. Or enchanted. Or something. She doesn't know.Neither do I.Which is kind of a problem.I'm also not sleeping--hello, guilt-inducing-gargoyle on my front porch anyone? It's probably one more symptom of menopause, but if I don't get some sleep, someone's going to die.Which was interesting, as zombies just showed up on my front porch, trying to break down the front porch.Maybe I spoke too soon.
A paranormal women’s fiction romance with a feisty heroine in serious midlife crisis, a talking tattoo, a chain-smoking ghost in a housedress, and an adventure that proves you’re never too old to start over from USA Today Bestselling author Lisa Manifold.
The Oracle of Wynter

Winter really is coming into her own, as Oracle of Theama, and as a woman entering into her midlife! Her newest consultant is a real pill, right off the bat. And she only has Goldie and Glory to help, because you finally get a peek into Caro's past.
Manifold 's writing style gently wraps you into her stories, and by the time you realize it, you are trapped in a story you don't want to escape! I can picture the Vinyard, Wynter's home, and practically smell the ocean near her house. It takes something special to draw the reader into a story this way, a and Manifold has this talent in spades!

Thank goodness the Nina story ended with this! Granted as anti-climatic as it was, I am kinda bummed that it ended with such little fanfare, but seriously please don’t do that again! The dragging on of consultants between two books is a bore that I don’t think I would care to see repeated again. It’s one thing to have characters like Logan and Davina linger between books because they serve an overall purpose. What was the Nina purpose? She didn’t even have to use any of her new magic to figure anything out! Had that man not showed up, with the daughter in tow, that particular story would’ve dragged on even more. Let’s talk about this particular consultant’s story. I was once more taken aback by how the story just ended without us getting any real resolution about what was happening with Hazel and the whole Kay business. The story had a few inconsistencies and it was kinda weird how it all unfolded/wrapped up. She used a memory wipe, but clearly that magic didn’t affect her “familiars” who obviously let something slip as she mentioned the “key” after she was supposed to have forgotten about it.also did we clearly not notice there were TWO men who were behind the whole stolen time business yet only one was apprehended and that was that. So why did I give this four stars if these were pretty solid gripes? Because this was a pretty great book to read. Even though some of our girl gang took a back seat and Wynter was left to her own devices, it was still a pleasant read and Wynter got to shine and GROW. Emotional growth and wisdom do not cease at a certain age or point in one’s life, we are all capable of continuing to learn and adapt and Wynter is no different.
In the fifth book, Wynter is trying to free Nina from her gargoyle prison when her next consultant shows up. Hazel is very b!tchy at first, but with good reason. Hazel is losing time... one moment, she's standing at her sink doing the dishes and the next she is laying on the ground after hours have passed. Come to find out, a magical person is making her do things against her will. It's not just Hazel, either.
Wynter also levels up her magic in this book, and is becoming more of a potty mouth... for her. Her relationship with Logan escalates, and again the book ends on a cliffhanger when we finally come face to face with Logan's crossroad demon.
These books are fun, and read pretty quickly. I have the next book queued.
I really loved reading the further adventures of Wynter and how much she continues to grow in her role as the Oracle. It is nice that this story cleared up the cliffhanger from the previous book. The fact that she and Logan are still working on their relationship with each other is fun to read. I cannot say much about that since it would constitute spoilers and I don’t want to do that. It is nice to learn more about Caro and cannot wait to hear about her adventures.
I am looking forward to seeing where things will go in the future for Wynter and Logan. They both have issues that they need to deal with, and I cannot wait to see what happens when Logan meets Wynter’s children
This world is definitely interesting. There's a lot going on but it doesn't seem like too much. It will be interesting to see if the author has Wynter actually fail to help someone and how she'll take it. We kinda saw that with Nina. But it would be a little unrealistic to have her not fail at least once. She made the big production out of needing to lock up her stuff. There was a couple of times I know I was a bit anxious because it seemed like she didn't follow through with locking it up. But I guess it's more of the author didn't write it in than leading to some finding/stealing it. Although that may be a future plot point. 🤷♀️
Winter has had a bad time her last two consultants weren’t faring well
Winter was having a bad spell she had just gained the Wild Magic and had to learn to control it. And mot one but two consultants were at her house. Neither one were faring well but one was trapped and the other was spacing out on occasions. So what was she supposed to do just keep taking lessons with the local coven, talk to the local Sea Goddess. There has to be more and it is up to her to figure it out before more people get killed.
This is an OUTSTANDING series!!! Wynter’s Universe is so well written you feel like you are actually living in it. It is AWESOME and has great dialogue between all the characters. Great Comedy, just the right amount of Romance, Amazing action scenes and the suspense is off the charts. I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book in this series. Please keep writing and I, your loyal fan will keep reading your books. AWESOME, AWESOME SERIES!!!
I've read all five books in this series and pre ordered book 6. Midlife, coming into powers you had no idea existed, suddenly dealing with spirits, otherworldly beings.....well, now you have the start to an absolutely fun series. Throw in tall, dark and handsome, a true (stick by your side) best friend, love, mystery, great storytelling, witty dialogue, and believable characters. Fantastic.
I have tried really hard to overlook the grammar issues in past books of this series, but in this book, there are actual story inconsistencies (a character doesn't know about something then all of a sudden does, etc). It makes it impossible to be immersed in the world. I hate it. The author writes really interesting stories, but this will probably be the last book I read of hers.
Wynter is still working on helping her last consultant when a second one comes. Hazel is losing time and she doesn't know why. Now Wynter has to help her find out what is happening and also needs to figure out how to break the hex on Nina. Lots is excitement and changes in this story. Excited for the next one.
This series is so engrossing. Book 5 has 2 story lines at the same time...1 a hangover from Book 4, and a new one. Wynter's menopause problems have taken a back seat to everything else in this book. More danger has appeared along with new magic. There is a little humor, mystery, danger, loads of magic, a little romance, and friendship. Highly recommend.
Wynter did overtime in this one and just as it looked like she was getting a break, wham, she's multitasking again. Wynter is definitely coming into her own & surprise to everyone, she's actually something more. Good thing she's embraced her new self, now she just needs to master this too.
I enjoyed this series and the story, but the last couple of books have had plot errors that are very distracting. The back and forth conversation has been a little forced in the last book or two also. It's enough to make me think of moving to another author.
Don't want to give anything away, but love Wynter's developing power. The ending makes you want the next book available right then. Love that she is powerful and still want us the best for all.
Couldn’t put this book down. I loved everything about it. I truly enjoy that we read the romance and love development but not have to go through pages of love making. I feel that many other authors you long drawn out sex scenes to make their books longer.
This was a bit of nail biter for a while. I enjoyed every word of it. The ending was quite good ... I knew what that woman had something about to do with him; I just had not gone where the plot took me.
I am so glad Wynter is getting more powerful because she will need it. I am enjoying the side characters they add to a more suspenseful story. Logan is going to be a huge part of the next story and I cannot wait.
Mystery, magic, and a touch of paranormal. I admire this more confident Wynter who knows what needs to be done even when it goes against her nature. This series continues to get better with each book.
The story stayed interesting ,book as the characters grow. Exciting in each but as a whole it is fantastic. I recommend to any who can enjoy fantasy and funny characters!
In this book by Lisa Manifold, Wynter is upset that she can't help Nina when she gets a new consultant who is missing chunks of time. She has to figure out why while being there for Caro. I loved this book and couldn't put it down.
New consultant, old consultant, new friends becoming more like family and a romance blossoming. So much happening in this latest adventure which was looking to wrap up nicely, until it wasn't. To another adventure.
Wynter is a great heroine, her gang is fun and her life is a mess but, you have to love it all. This is an excellent book and amazing series. I highly recommend it. 20 out of 5 stars. Read the series, you won't regret it!
