I don't normally leave negative reviews, but this one really upset me. Zoey must be a much more forgiving person than I, because let me summarize the entire story for you: SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Maybe it's someone else's cup of tea, I'm just saying, I like my heroines with a little more self-respect. I'll give the "hero" some credit, at least he's real good at saying sorry.

This felt very simplistic and had absolutely zero world-building. The so-called hero a bear shifter called Grizz was a complete and utter shitbag he was basically boning Zoe who was an eighteen-year-old virgin and when she happens to fall pregnant and she goes to him for help she actually catches him shagging another woman then he basically calls her out as a whore who must have been sleeping around as shifters can’t get humans pregnant and tells her to leave and maybe get rid of the problem if she doesn’t actually know who the father is how charming is he girls catch of the year that one.
Fast forward a few years and Zoe’s now back in town with her eight-year-old son and he thinks well maybe I did get her pregnant so decides to now investigate like after nine years he suddenly has this epiphany. Then his first emotion is to get angry at Zoe. The man is a complete and utter jerk I mean initially he didn’t even remember her name that’s how important she ranked to him. I don’t care how guilty he now feels it’s all about him and what he’s missed out on and by his own actions might I add. Don’t even get me started on Zoe who throughout this just comes across as a total doormat.
She also hasn’t mentioned anything to her son or even prepared him that he might shift into a bear. Like no preparations prior what was she even going to do when it happened because it obviously was on the cards at some point. There is no grovelling or major apologies on his part and Within a week Zoe is again making ga ga eyes and falling right back under Grizz’s spell. Grizz then goes from a total ass to now wanting to be father and boyfriend of the year and we’re supposed to just believe that after his previous track record and total lack of any grovelling.
Zoe then just forgives him instantly like you do; not, then the chemistry between them both just felt off it just didn’t work there really wasn’t any if I’m honest. I also didn’t feel any emotional attachment to any of the characters either. I finished this but it was such a slog and I’ve got to admit I did start to major skim. The characters felt one-dimensional and I’m still somewhat confused regarding the whole world set-up due to any lack of further explanations nothing about this world set-up was explained properly. There were shifters and bikers and segregation from the humans it could have been great but unfortunately, it just was all over the place.

This was a nice easy read. I felt the story was a bit weak (yes even for a shifter romance) but it was an okay read.

DNF - Quit at 51%
Oh Hell No! I can't get behind this story in any way shape or form. First, there is absolutely no world building. I have no idea what the rules of society are towards shifters in this book until around the 48% point where some are revealed to the FMC. Shocker that the shifters are segregated from the humans at this point, since the FMC had a relationship with one & even got pregnant by him. The FMC, Zoey/Zo is nothing but a door mat, she lets the MMC, Grizz/Rhett stomp all over her, and then goes back for more! His age is never disclosed by the point I quit, but I assumed maybe 25 or so when he got her pregnant at 18. Absolutely no way can I like either character, especially him, I have no leniency when it comes to cheating. Apparently there is no mate bond, to explain the pull she has, he's all lust (not love), right from the start. In fact, I never felt any "love" in the 51% I read, ZIP/NADA/NONE! She's trying to raise her 1/2 shifter son the best way she can, but never discloses anything to the son about he might become a bear shifter or the problems that go with it, she didn't even try to find out more from shifters to be better prepared (since she wasn't sure if him being 1/2 shifter would lead to him shifting or not, since she couldn't find any info that it's happened before her son) to at least know when they first start to shift in order to help him! That poor kid could have shifted without knowing anything if she hadn't gone back to that town to help her aunt. And I get why she goes back to help her aunt, but it was stupid, cause it risked her son being thrown together with his father, which as far as I'm concerned, is a douche who doesn't deserve any parental rights. When she goes to tell him she's pregnant, & finds him having sex with another woman, I'd have been out of there & never looking back. I don't think I would have even have told the MMC about the pregnancy either at that point seeing him with his dick in another woman. No way would I ever let him back into my life let alone heart. No way I could ever trust him again. For him to think he could have her & his son (have his cake & eat it too) at the 51% point when he makes it clear he wants her again, is just disgusting, & she's all a flutter over that! If I had had a paperback version (instead of my iPad), I'd have thrown it at the wall, then got up & thrown it in the trash after reading this garbage. I will not read any more from this author.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

He doesn’t believe her pregnancy claim because shifters can’t impregnate humans. Tells her to take a hike, which she does.
Now:
She’s back in town to care for her aunt. He briefly remembers her. Not her name but that she was sweet until she told him weird stories about being pregnant with their child. He now hears that it’s possible for humans and shifters to mate and feels bad about dissing her and missing out on years of his son’s childhood. He’s not a bad guy and promises to make up for his behaviour. He’s ready to settle down now; has his son and the heroine might as well tag along now. At least that’s what it feels like to me; he doesn’t say or think that but they’re a package deal, so…
Not a bad read.

Started out great
Started out great, I was looking for a book with cheating on it and this did have it at the beginning.
Zoe came to visit her Aunt for the summer before college. She was a goodie two shoe until she gave her virginity to Grizz who is a grizzly shifter.
She gets pregnant and goes to tell him and catches him having sex with someone else. Needless to say he says nasty things and she leaves, to return non years later.
So okay for me that is where it goes downhill hill. It just felt like something was always missing. Even though it was a so so read I have it 3 Stars because the book was edited well.

The premise of the story was really good. The characters were well fleshed out with the exception of the main female character, Zo. She was supposed to be this smart, strong, growling mama figure and just folds like a wet noodle to the main character even though he's a jerk a lot of the time. He spits an "I'm sorry" and she folds and says no big deal which is absolutely contrary to the character that the author has woven. I got hung up on that. I'd give the story 4 stars for entertainment value and fun, but I just can't get over the flaw in the main character's personality. Overall, I like the characters and plot so I'll give the second book in the series a shot and see how it goes.

So I really did enjoy this book despite the hero cheating on her in the beginning 🤷🏻♀️. If you can get past it, its a good read with a good storyline, great characters, and is well written. Its a slow burn as he spends the first part of the book kissing her butt trying to make up for his past misdeeds. This is my first book by this author and I'll definitely be reading her again!

Cheating
There's cheating, like real on the page, h walks in on it and sees everything cheating. And it's the H that's cheating. It's absolutely disgusting and doesn't belong in a romance. And they're both with others sexually off page during their time apart. I don't like any of that in romances.
If authors just for some reason have to put cheating or OW/OM stuff in a romance, at least warn us first. A lot of people don't like that in books. Save us some time and upset by warning us and save yourself a bad rating. Because, if you brand a book as a romance and include that stuff, I will give the book 1 star. Warn us so we can decide to skip it if it's not our cup of tea.

I found this story over on one of my angst lovers FB groups. I've seen this story bandied around quite a bit, but I just couldn't pick it up because of the ridiculous title. I finally decided to give this one a shot. I had extremely low expectations between the title and the 1 star reviews, but I actually ended up enjoying this story a lot. The shocking part REALLY kicked the emotions into high gear. The rest of the story after that was basically angst free, but still plenty entertaining for me.

I’m torn on Daddy Biker Bear. It has good and bad parts.
I loved the kid. He’s just adorable.
As for Grizz I’m not fan. She’s an a** and yes, he does change, but still an a**. Then we have Zoe. I’m glad she stayed strong and had a great support system, but she should have told her son the truth. She avoids it all together. I will say I can see things playing out the way they did.
The romance is quick and even though time is passing it really only felt like a few days. The writing isn’t great, but not bad. I liked that we get double POV’s, but the story needs some polishing. Not much of a plot and no world-building.
Daddy Biker Bear is a quick read that I binged in a day. It was nice enough to pass the time.

Okay…
This was interesting enough that I care about this Forest Heights Bear Clan/Gang but there were also parts of it that were a little to simplistic and easily won especially around issues that were major and not very simple. The premise is that years ago fresh high school grad in the summer before college, Zo, went on vacation to her cool aunt’s where for the first time in her life she shed her “good girl” persona and went wild child, resulting in a baby with the Bear Clan/Gang alpha, Grizz, who denies paternity because in this world everyone knows that human-shifter child bearing compatibility is nill. When 9 years later, Zo returns to Forest Heights to look after her ailing aunt, Grizz can no longer deny paternity of his splitting image son and memories of that summer that have always remained in the periphery of his memories.
The thing is there were lots of things I liked about this- the premise even several aspects of the plot. The main thing I didn’t like is that the plot had several bits of potential conflict built into it that were never fully explored or dealt with. For example, the issue with with Grizz denying paternity, Zo is altogether too forgiving and too passive about that. It’s almost like “oops I was wrong, moving on,” and her entire support system are like “yay!” It just doesn’t make sense. Then once again later in the plot, when Grizz chooses not to believe her, there’s no real exploration of that conflict and that impact. Everything is too easily resolved, whereas this would be a stronger book with more emotional work being done on the page by the characters. This also applies to the issue with his youngest brother. Also there just feels like a lot of Deus Ex Machina happening in the story to conveniently make the protagonist super rich, or when they have it out with their rivals at the end, it’s too simple when this premise and this plot were begging for a bit more complexity.
I did enjoy some of the secondary characters- of course the kid, Rainer, is an absolute delight and joy, I also really liked Kim, Zo’s BFF, and Hutch, Grizz’s brother, so I suppose I’m sucked in for book 2.

You can poke a bear all you want, but be careful poking at the mama bear. That shit usually doesn’t end well.
I hate surprise or hidden pregnancies but, “we can’t have babies we’re a different species and you get pregnant and I don’t believe it’s mine” hits different. The hurt and pain from both sides. Especially when they both love each other. Gah! Her hurt in his disbelief and anger. His belief in her betrayal. So much hurt. Love it!
It could have been a little better written. Things just happened. It felt like I was being “told” a lot of the story. Still good!

Zo and Grizz's story was ok-ish... it had potential but it somewhat failed me...

I liked the story and the characters. Everything seemed a bit too convenient, though. The FMC was furious and hurt but just fell right back into the arms of the MMC. No fuss. One minute she's angry, the next, she's sleeping in his bed. Same with the son. He just fell into the relationship with his father so easily. The whole coming together of the family seemed a bit disenguious.

There are three separate stories in this one book and the blurb only advertises the first story.
Also, they need to be read in order as they end on cliffhangers and the following story picks up where the previous one left off.
I’m not done yet, but I’m wondering what else this book has to offer the next 80% of this book, when the FMC has just moved into the MMC’s bedroom at the 23% mark. Which seems like more or less a resolution to there original conflict. Besides that, it’s ridiculously boring as it is. 80% more of boredom is not looking appealing to me.
Basically, this is a story of a barely legal FMC hooking up with the MMC for a summer before college, which led to her getting pregnant. In this world structure, a pregnancy between humans and shifters is not possible, so the MMC just tells her to leave, and she does with very little argument. The FMC moves back to town for family reasons nine years later, and in like two pages the MMC asks an elder is it possible, only to be told yes, then he sees his kid and again very little argument later the MMC is trying to be a stand up dad. That’s like the first 19% only.
Now, some side plot of rival gangs is forcing the FMC to move into the MMC’s house/bedroom for their protection. But the problem I have, is that she could sleep anywhere in his house. But she’s immediately okay with moving into his bedroom. Smh. Yes this book is going quick on the couple front but it’s failing on the emotional or depth of any kind front.
If the rest of this book is primarily focused on the rival gang or human shifter prejudices or the government trying to vivisect their hybrid son, I’m going to be annoyed. Because that’s not what this book is promoted as.

So the first book of the rejection and secret/surprise baby ends at the 37% mark. Which explains why everything was happening so fast. Unfortunately, it’s so fast paced that there really isn’t any emotional depth. It is a good story but the plot line needed an aspect of feelings that it was missing almost entirely. The following/remainder 60%+ of the book has two separate shorter stories in it that I haven’t read yet. I’m honestly not invested enough to want to read it either. Such a good plot was lost on this rushed story sadly. It could have been so much better. I might not be so disappointed if this had been explained in the blurb. At this point, it’s too late for me to find any enjoyment from this anthology or this author. Good luck.

This is definitely second chance, secret baby and a little rejected mate all rolled into one. This shifter world doesn’t seem to have the concept of fated mates so it’s not like that. Shifters supposedly can’t get humans pregnant so when Zo shows up pregnant Grizz doesn’t believe her and chases her off.
*Aside for the safety squad out there - Zo is in love with Grizz and thinks he feels the same but when she shows up to tell him she’s pregnant he’s in the midst of banging a skanky OW, it’s mentioned a few times again when they reunite later but isn’t a focal point in the book. He obviously isn’t as into her as she was into him but I consider this cheating. I also happen to like cheating books so it’s not a big deal for me but if it is for you - now you know *
I really loved getting to see Grizz’s burgeoning relationship with his son and how much of a mama bear Zo was even though she wasn’t a shifter. I honestly don��t feel like Grizz did a whole lot of groveling but he does feel terrible and he apologizes. He beats himself up a lot for missing out on so much of his sons life. I loved that Zo wouldn’t take any crap from him over it. This would have been better with more groveling but I understand wanting to let it go for Rainer.
Overall this is a great read and I think you’ll enjoy it too!

First let me say, this story was enjoyable, but it lacked depth. It could've used more development in the areas of character, background, and plot. I love a shifter story where the shifters are not known to the general public. This story takes place with the shifters and humans living amongst each other and I wanted to know how did that come to be. Also, the narrator for Grizz was okay, but the transition to other male characters was not pleasant. The female narrator was a bit better, but her whispery voice made some of the parts unbelievable. The plot was great, however I needed more development in how this rivalry started, including some of the back story on Wreck and how he become involved. It did intrigue me enough to grab book 2 because I loved Kim's character and want to see where her story goes. I'm giving this a 3.75 because I do see the potential for this series and the author is doing just enough to keep me interested.

The couple: Grizz and Zo

Plot: Zoey (goes by Zo) is just 18, in town for the summer to visit her aunt. She's been a good girl her whole life, so she goes a little wild while she's there, mainly in the form of Grizz, a local shifter, and the leader of a motorcycle gang. General knowledge says that shifters and humans can't procreate together, so when Zo ends up pregnant and tells Grizz the baby is his, he doesn't believe her. In fact, when she goes to tell him about the pregnancy, she walks in on him having sex with another woman - and here she was thinking she was special! He lets her know in no uncertain terms that she isn't special and she leaves, heartbroken. About 10 years later, she's back to take care of her aunt with her son in tow, and while she does her best to avoid Grizz, he sees her and can't deny that his mini-me is in fact his son. He has a lot of making up to do!
Character development: I have no practical experience with motorcycle clubs, but from my extensive reading, they generally avoid the word "gang." Thus it was a little jarring to see that word over and over again in reference to Grizz's group (both from themselves and others). Also, I think they should have stuck with "club" because they weren't really bad enough to be a gang.
Grizz was pretty gross. This author does second chance romances fairly well - I've read Her Dragon Daddy at least three times and cried each time. That was a case of the hero abandoning the heroine, but he wasn't a cheating jerk who didn't believe in her. It was implied that Grizz was just a dumb kid when he treated Zo so badly, but "dumb kid" doesn't have to mean cruel, which he absolutely was. To his credit, he was all in with his son once he found out about it. Added to that is the fact that he continued to disbelieve her any time she brought up something important! I could only be accused of lying once before I was like, nope, no more. That second time? Taking my son and keeping myself safe, because he wasn't as invested as he said.
And then there was the weird subplot with the brother who betrayed them so badly that Grizz's son was almost killed; they kicked the brother out of the gang and kept him around in the family (and the general group of friends and shifter clan, which is basically the same thing as the gang).
I don't know - I'm really feeling a 2.5 rather than 3 stars. It was just a bit of a mess for me.

The only time she was stern was when she saw Grizz again after 9 years. But she was still likable in this story.
WHAT WAS SO SO:
The story was holding my interest, but the love connection between Grizz and Zoey seem to be secondary in the story and took a while. I wanted more from them. The focus was too much on Rainer, which is fine, but I remember thinking when are they going to get fire works like their summer together with their chemistry. Also, biker theme was weak for me. Didn’t feel like a biker.

Sex scenes were satisfactory.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:

A very naive 18 years old heroine met a douchebag bear shifter. She got knocked up, found the slimebag bear shifter actually treats her as a doormat, found he is fucking with other women with no shame in front of her, and also kick out to raise the kid alone.
9 years later they meet again, slimebag bear shifter found the son and wants to be a father this time, and also wants to play house with the heroine. So the heroine is happy to play happy family with slimebag shifter and get their happy ever after.
I don't mind betrayer heartache but please get me some sense and reason to forgive a douchebag. If you want to find good grovel then sure be damn disappointed with this book. Everything is so easy and convenient to the douchebag hero.
9 years later they meet again, slimebag bear shifter found the son and wants to be a father this time, and also wants to play house with the heroine. So the heroine is happy to play happy family with slimebag shifter and get their happy ever after.
I don't mind betrayer heartache but please get me some sense and reason to forgive a douchebag. If you want to find good grovel then sure be damn disappointed with this book. Everything is so easy and convenient to the douchebag hero.

Well this sucked. Only because it's false advertising. Recommended on FB by my angsty reader group, and nothing that was spoiled there happened in this book. Why did the author change it? Did she feel pressure from other readers? That's really unfortunate. This book just ended up being boring and anticlimactic as hell. Guess you can't please everyone. I much preferred the original from the spoilers on FB. With this version I started hating the FMC Zo. Well done author 🤷. Also, it's a lot shorter than the original was as well. KU has it at 500+, but the page's jump around. You're reading on page 50, then all of a sudden the next page says 75. So with the update it was shortened, but I didn't mind. The FMC was irritating. Sorry

Terrible female lead
I found this incredibly frustrating the worst examples of I forgive him just because he is sorry. Zoey is treated terribly multiple times and every time just forgives. What happened to the biker sex club atmosphere at the beginning? It just disappeared? I found it hard that a mother so protective of her child would be ok with a biker gang lifestyle. It didn’t make sense and she was such a wimp it was hard to care. Alpha here means lying arse.
