EXCERPT:

Running from a mobster is the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
I never thought I’d find myself in this situation. That I’d be chasing a lie, wishing the people who raised me really were my parents, and that I hadn’t seen my true father die right in front of me. I wished I could pretend and stay with him, the man who saved me from the people who stole me and raised me as their own … Marcello.
But he lied to me.
He knew the people who took me weren’t my parents, and he never told me. And I can’t ever forget that he chose not to tell me.
So I run. I run like hell because that’s all I can do when faced with the impossible.
The impossible choice between what is right … and what my heart desires.
Because I know, deep down, that I have already fallen for this man.
But this forbidden love is not meant to be.
He used me. Treated me like a pet. Like something he owned. Just because he bought my soul.
But my love is not for sale.
He may have saved me from that fire at my fake parents’ house, but that doesn’t make him any less of a monster.

Owing each other’s hearts and souls❤️

Owned is the conclusion to Marcello and Harper’s story❣️Picking up where the first book left off, Harper puts herself in danger and finds herself out on the streets but danger and a few surprises eventually find her back in Irish hands😢

Marcello is frantic to find Harper and is not happy when he discovers where she is but when he discovers her surprise, he decides to let go of the past and try to forge a new future together😍

A great story with a wonderful ending🤩 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review😁

Owned by Clarissa Wild is the second book in the Dellucci Mafia duet. Filled with action and high stakes, this continuation of the story led to the perfect conclusion. Compared to Sold, there is less spice, but it was wonderfully angsty and explosive. 100% worth my audible credit.

This audiobook is narrated in duet by Ehlen Valentine and Gideon Frost. Ehlen hit this narration out of the park with her different character performances. I particularly enjoyed her portrayal of Molly. The Irish accent!!! I’ve got a total soft spot for Gideon's performance of Mario. Both narrators easily drew me into the emotions of the characters and made this duet such an entertaining listening experience. Paired with Clarissa’s writing, this audiobook got me through a rough week.

Book: 5/5

Spice: 3/5

Narration: 5/5

Owned is Book 2 in the Dellucci Mafia Duet by Clarissa Wild. Marcello and Harper's story concludes here. The book picks up where "Sold" left off. It's recommended that book 1 is read 1st. Harper is on the run, trying to run from all that happened to her at the auction. On the run, Harper finds herself in danger even more. There are twists that occur. Marcello is going nuts trying to find his "pet" and when he finds out where she has landed, he is truly very unhappy. There are surprises and twists, turns and feels when Marcello gets her back. Can the past be laid to rest? Will these two be able to have a new and exciting future in store? One of love, and happiness? ❤🔥 The ending of Owned was fabulous and romantic, with a dark twist. Just how I like my mafia romance.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *********

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

This is the second book in a duet so you have to read Sold first or you are going to be lost. Owned picks up right where Sold left off and we find Harper on the run. Now I am going to warn you that this one keep you on your toes as it is fast paced and a whole lot is going on. Like I said Harper has left and is on the run from Marcello. But the poor girl has no home to go to. No money or anyone to help her and she has not a clue what to do but stay alive and run from Marcello. But she happens upon some kind strangers who are willing to help her and she is so grateful to them and she is going to pay back there kindness but while trying to survive she learns some things and is even more worried about her survival now more than ever. Then if things couldn't get any worse she finds herself in the hand of Marcello's enemies. Marcello has been looking all over the place for his kitten and he can not find her anywhere. But things are never simple and while his men need saving he finds out that his kitten does as well. Can Marcello be the savior that she needs him to be. Well you have to read and find out. It's fast paced, kept me on the edge of my seat and I really fell more in love with these characters. I'm just glad my little heart made it to the end of this book.

Let's start this review out with this, Owned is the conclusion to Harper & Marcello's story which started in Sold, so guess what?! YOU HAVE TO READ SOLD (Book 1) FIRST! I'm not going to lie though, Marcello certainly pissed me off more than once since he was determined to make Harper his pet, and thankfully, she didn't quite fall in line with that. There's no doubt they have serious chemistry but again, he bought her to be his sex slave which I took exception to. Despite these strong feelings, the twists coming in hot definitely overrode any extreme rage at Marcello because there were so many moving parts who were seriously deranged at the end of the day, and those definitely made our hero so much better LOL. I'm trying so hard to be as vague as possible but it's so hard since there's so much going on this round. The world that Marcello lives in isn't without danger, but add in some new danger, well, you have an edge of your seat with a heart racing ride from hell, so buckle up buttercup! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was so good I couldn't put it down as this is the conclusion to Marcello and Harper's story. This picks up where Bk 1 Sold left off at with Harper running away and with war on the way Marcello is trying everything he can to find her and also to be there for his men. He finds out she's ended up in more hot water by the men who have her. Yeh there's a lot of drama, but then it's a mafia book so more the merrier lol. The chemistry between these two is explosive. This is definitely one to not be missed, but you have to read Bk1 first as this isn't a standalone.

This is the sequel to Sold and I do recommend reading them in order. Harper was sold to Marcello in an illegal sale and she plans to escape even though she enjoys there time together. Will she fall for a man she hates? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with lots of depth and intense chemistry. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

This is book two of A Dark Mafia Romance duet.

FROM BOOK ONE, SOLD:

Marcello Dellucci, probably in his thirties, is the cold and calculating Don of the Italian mafia. He is working on an arms deal to ensure the safety of his next big shipment. He wants power, and he is close to achieving it. He nearly dominated the underworld fifteen years when he was young and eager to prove himself to his parents. Things went downhill unexpectedly, though. Since then, he made a vow to himself to never be vulnerable again. He tries to push the pain down with liquor and focused attention. He has a good team and a trusted consigliere – Claudio, his second in command. A meeting with the Duffy brothers of the Irish mafia should leave him with enough arms for protection. So when the waitress at Bottoms Up catches his attention, he isn’t prepared for his reaction to her. Something about her distracts him from the business he went there to take care of.

Harper Fitzgerald, probably in her twenties, is determined to find those responsible for the death of her parents ten years ago. She trains relentlessly because she learned the hard way how important it is to be able to defend yourself. She works at HIIT Hard Tactical, where she trains people in self-defense along with a few other crafty skills that a victim might need to know. She has hired a string of private investigators to dig up information about who set fire to her house when she was a child, killing her parents. It haunts her to this day that she was unable to save them herself. The only thing she had to go on was the tattoo on the back of the man that carried her to safety. She has accumulated a few shreds of information here and there over the years, but the investigators seem to shy away from the case once they begin looking, suggesting instead that she leave things alone. Her adoptive mother, Andrea, tells her to let it go, too, but Harper is as determined as ever to seek justice.

When the latest PI gives Harper the name of a club associated with some suspects, she decides to do a stakeout. But Bottoms Up is a rough establishment, and to avoid trouble she claims to be there about a job. She takes advantage of her new position as a waitress to do a little investigating, but one man, in particular, grabs her attention – and he is one of the men suspected of being involved the night of the fire. She hates herself for how attracted she feels to him, but there is no denying their connection.

When things go south and Marcello’s deal with the Irish falls through, he still cannot get his mind off of that waitress. So when business takes him into the lair of the Russian bratva to strike a deal with Igor, their leader, it must be fate when she shows up again. This time, however, she is for sale. Marcello is determined to make Harper his and save her from a horrible situation, but in doing so he takes his eye off the ball. Harper will either be his undoing, or she will be the one to bring happiness back into his life. He faces big challenges, but sometimes he wishes he could escape it all – and Harper is the ultimate distraction. The couple faces issues of trust while Marcello tries to stay alive in a new mafia war that leaves him on the defensive. The story ends in a cliffhanger, to be continued in book two, Owned.

IN THIS BOOK:

As book one came to a close, Harper’s escape lands her in the center of a mafia bloodbath. But what shocks her more than the death that surrounds her is what she overhears. The father she thought was dead is actually alive. Frank Fitzgerald is not the man she remembered her father to be. He is a vile and angry man, and he heads the Irish mafia. He had survived the fire, and yet he never came to find her in all those years. That hurts, but hearing that he stole her as a child from Igor, head of the Russian Bratva, leaves her entirely ungrounded. Marcello rescues Harper yet again, and Frank is presumed drowned. Marcello has no doubt that he needs Harper in his life, though he still has difficulty voicing his feelings. But when Harper learns that Marcello knew her parents and never said anything to her when he connected the dots, she feels betrayed. Her whole life she has been chasing a lie, and she lumps him in with the liars. As soon as she finds the opportunity, she makes a second escape for freedom.

As this book opens, Harper learns that freedom isn’t always a good thing. Meanwhile, Marcello tries to regroup after the devastating loss he suffered on the docks. He lost men, his ammo shipment, and his money. He is in a vulnerable position, and learning that Frank is alive with a vendetta against him lends a sense of urgency to the situation. Frank seems to have lost his marbles, and he blames the attack at the restaurant fifteen years ago on Marcello. Marcello’s mother never recovered from that night, and he himself had spent time in the hospital unconscious. Frank lost his daughter, Alannah, but Marcello lost his fiancée that night, too. He had closed himself off to feelings since that tragic evening. It wasn’t until he met Harper years later that his heart began to thaw.

Frank is unhinged and has apparently spent the last fifteen years quietly plotting revenge. But we soon learn that Molly, too, survived that night. Harper becomes a tool in the war between the Irish and the Italians, and things get dangerous. There are moments of truth, and the threat of attack is ever-present. There is trust and betrayal. Marcello had said that Harper would distract him or help save him, and it looks like distraction is winning out at a pivotal time for the Italian mafia. More shootouts follow as the war continues. There are twists and unexpected turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The couple eventually finds a happy ending.

Don’t forget to download the free bonus epilogue via the link at the back of the book!

Marcello and Harper’s mafia romance is an enemies-to-lovers story with plenty of steamy chemistry amidst a tense backdrop of murder and mafia wars. Marcello is cold, yet there seems to be another side of him, perhaps a more natural side that he hides from almost everyone. The relationship he has with Mario, his caretaker, is peculiar. New and touching truths are revealed here. As the story goes deeper, the evidence of Marcello’s ties to Harper surface, unraveling the mystery that keeps you turning the pages. Harper’s fake parents, Molly and Frank Fitzgerald, are another mystery to be solved, and more is learned about them here.

A few issues merit mention. Harper continues to waffle in regards to her feelings for Marcello here. It is sometimes dizzying and a little frustrating. She is fierce and proud, but her pride is a bit of a problem at times. But Marcello, too, has seen what pride can do. His character gets more depth here as he connects to his feelings and questions himself. He also deals with his past and considers the future.

Marcello and Harper’s story comes to a thrilling conclusion in this exciting mafia romance. Their chemistry is undeniable, but issues of trust threaten to keep them apart as a mafia war commences. The story is plot-driven with plenty of exciting twists and turns. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Marcello and Harper. I rate this book four stars.

So many better mafia books

I do always feel like a jerk for leaving bad reviews as I know authors work hard on their craft. So I'll try to be compassionate yet honest.

My review will encompass both books. So this was not a poorly written book, grammatically. It was so many other things I found frustrating. From Harper being very career driven to a ditz that does let a man use her. And really has no qualms about it. Until it's over and she's like, oh wait, what have I done. She is so interested in looking for her parents but......well......no spoilers here, but she really shouldn't have been. And "mafia lord"? What? And this girl is a pro at self defense but she can fight off no one. LITERALLY NO ONE. I don't even think she got a hair pulling in this series.

I like Clarissa Wild books because she has some really great dirty talking men that remain aggressive and dominant, yet they get dominant-squishy for their women (is that a thing). But Marcello....so boring. And Harper and her blushing all the time for instances that made no sense.

Again, I'm a jerk. But you can find something better. In the mafia genre. In the alpha male genre.

Pro's The story really comes to life in book 2 of this series. Marcello and Harper's story has so many revelations, secrets and twists and turns that are unveiled in this second book of the duet. Harper's character stays tough and rises above the manipulations of a family steeped in tragedy and secrets to find the real pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in Marcello and Andrea. Originally his character in book one didn't impress me that much but comes full circle in book 2. You really start to understand what makes his character tick regarding how he runs his Mafia and how he treats a woman who becomes so much more than an acquisition from an auction. The plot changes up quite a bit in book two as secrets and lies are unveiled. Marcello is still a dominate ruthless Don but also has a softer side when it comes to the woman he has fallen in love with. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions for both characters as events and secrets take shape in book two resulting in quite a few gun fights, attacks and torture. Harper is faced with many devastating truths that have been honed from years of lies as her parents' true colors are unveiled.

Cons: The author doesn't need to write out the word "bang" every time a shot is fire in this story. Descriptive writing goes a long way when narrating these fire fights.

I don't mind "fire fights" in these books because it goes with the genre, but this entire series seemed overdone with length and the number of them throughout the duet.

Enjoy.

OMG!! OWNED WAS AMAZING!! Owned was pure Mafia Kindle crack! This is the conclusion of Marcello and Harper’s story—what a ride! Reading this kick-ass story had me speechless. This dark and suspenseful Mafia romance is packed with a lot of action, mystery, kidnapping, drugs, and twists and turns. I was consumed with every word and did not come up for air once. This story is full of raw emotions, and it left me with the best book hangover. You feel every ounce of pain, every slice of betrayal, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. Marcello and Harper were two damaged people with hidden secrets and tragedies in their past. But with Marcello set on an unwavering quest for vengeance against another rival group, Harper is now a pawn caught in the crosshairs. The explosive attraction and passion between Marcello and Harper is unparalleled—it is off-the-chart hot! Their journey is full of hurt, trust, lies and secrets. Lines will be crossed, secrets will be revealed. What happens next? Well, read this amazing story and find out—you won’t regret it! Clarissa Wild manages to weave dark and twisted plots centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters that you will not be able to put this book down. I highly RECOMMEND this book! Book two starts where book one ends, so it’s advised that you read them in order.

Harper is now on the run after escaping Marcello. She feels hurt and betrayed by the secrets Marcello has hidden from her! She just needs to stay hidden long enough for him to move on….

Marcello wants his “kitten” back, he’s fallen for her and fallen hard! There is no way he’s going to let her escape, calling in all his resources he plots his kittens return. And when he gets her back, she’s never going to get away again!

Intense is the word to describe this book!
There is so much going on, there are bad guys that want Harper (both to use against Marcello and for themselves!) There is a family reunion that’s more like a horror story than a happy reunion!
And then there is the conflict that has to be resolved between Harper and Marcello.

I have to say, I preferred her House of Sin series to this duet. I know it’s a dark romance and I know there was triggers, but I just didn’t connect to the characters in this book as I did with her other books!

So will Harper forgive Marcello?
Can he rescue her from her horrible family?
To find out your going to have to read the book 😉

This is book #2 in the series, you do need to read book #1, Sold as this book #2 picks up where #1 leaves off.

Harper ran away from Marcello. She think she's safer on her own. She just doesn't realize all the people who are actually after her. Marcello is her safest option. Harper has no money, no home, no cell phone, nothing really at all. She finds a mans wallet and uses his wallet to get by with buying some food. Harper goes to her adoptive mother who raised her after she was left as a young child parentless.

Harper winds up in her enemy hands of course. Marcello finds a way to get Harper back to him. The Italian's, and Polish and Russians are all at war with each other and are all fighting each other. Harper is almost in the middle of everything.

Marcello is trying to figure out his feelings for Harper. He wants her but is his willing to allow his heart to open to her? Is Marcello going to be able to allow his feelings to open up?

I did receive a free ARC Book copy. I am freely leaving an honest review.

What a great conclusion to the Deluca Mafia Duet ! More action-packed and tense than the first installment.

Marcello is a super interesting Hero, and Harper is multi-layered and intriguing right to the end. I admit I don't love "kitten" as a pet name, but y'know, there's always a nit here and there.

Please read my review of the first book here for a little more info.

Highly recommended if you like Mafia or dark romances. Clarissa Wild is a must-read for me in those categories.

Five super twisty stars.

OWNED. The second half of the Dellucci Mafia Duet by Clarissa Wild. And, whew, what a ride Harper and Marcello’s story was! Once I started reading, I didn’t want to stop.

That’s not to say I wasn’t hella frustrated a time or two. With Harper for running and putting herself in danger and with Marcello and his view of Harper as nothing more than a “pet” for so long.

Oh, the drama. The suspense. The push and pull. The tension. The twists and turns. The secrets. The chemistry. The world Marcello lives in and Harper is thrown into definitely is not for the faint of heart. It’s a world in which the landmines just kept coming, one betrayal chasing the other, all while Marcello was hunting for his kitten, trying to not get taken down by his enemies.

Fast-paced and filled to the brim with action, this duet provides some fun hours of reading. Definitely check it out if you’re a fan of the mafia / captive / auction trope like I am.

Marcello and Harper are at a crossroads. While most of the secrets are out, Harper mind is reeling and she does the first thing that comes to head and that is to run. She does she never thought she would. She has Marcello's and Frank and Molly's people looking for her. When the enemy finds her first she gets even more first hand knowledge of who is friend and who is enemy. Which once again sends her mind reeling with this newfound information. Not sure I cared about the way Harper went about things. She second guessed and doubted things because its all she has ever done. Later she realize she is at a crossroads with Marcello. She could stop denying her feelings for him and realize that he was always an open book to her. This book was filled plenty of action and romance and a ending that left me satisfied that a once jaded and broken Don and lost and confused girl can make the happy family they never thought they would have.

Owned (Dellucci mafia duet 2)

This is the second book in this amazing duet from this author and the continued story of Macello and Harper. This story picks up straight after book one finishes. This part of the duet is fast paced with lots of suspense, drama and mystery. This story takes you on a ride with lots of twists and turns within the story. The characters still have amazing chemistry between them. This story will keep you reading long into the night and have you on the edge of your seat throughout. This is an amazing duet from this author and definitely a must read of 2021.

#Owned is book #2 of the #DellucciMafiaDuet by #ClarissaWild and is narrated beautifully in duet by #GideonFrost who is delicious as Marcello and #EhlenValentine is brilliant in all her different roles.

I have to confess that although I loved #1 this book was such a disappointment.

I never understood why Harper did a runner in the first place, after all Marcello saved her twice and why there was this desperate need for Molly and Frank to have Harper back again after they left her to burn in the first place was never explained.

The plot got progressively more and more ridiculous so much so that I was rolling my eyes through most of it, e.g. Mario being as fit as a flea and fighting whereas in #1 he was on his deathbed, a fiance is dropped into the equation but we hear nothing further and they get the rooms muddled in the hospital, guns that never needed reloading, just to name a few.

Frankly, I wouldn't waste your time!

Owned is book two in the fantastic duet of Harper and Marcello! Owned picks up right where we left off from book one Sold, Harper is on her own after running away from Marcello with no where to go and no money she finds it a struggle but some how she makes it work. Just when she thinks she free from it all she is taken again by her "fake family" Frank and Molly!! Wow wee honestly they are messed up!!! It's now up to Marcello to save her once more, will he find her and bring her back to him? Will she want to go back with him?

I thoroughly enjoyed this duet Clarissa gives us everything and more in this book, lies, betrayal, deceit, violence, murder, kidnapping, and hot hot steamy sex!!!!! I love a Mafia book and I love Clarissa Wild books and these have been no exception! I recommend this duet but also any Clarissa Wild book too you won't be disappointed

Owned is book 2 in Marcello and Harper's story. Clarissa did not disappoint with this one. It was so intense that I had to keep reading to find out what happens next. Book 1 left off with Harper running away from Marcello. I have to say her "fake family" has a few screws loose lol. Frank and Molly are seriously messed up.

Marcello and Harper finally come to terms with their feelings for each other, after going through Hell!! This book has it all, lies, betrayal, revenge, kidnapping, family, love and hot steamy sex. This is a Mafia book with different families at war so there is violence and bloodshed but the twists and turns will keep you wanting more. Harper does get tougher in this book than in the 1st book because of what she has seen and will experience. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend reading the series!!!

Owned (A Dark Mafia Romance) by Clarissa Wild was a thrilling 5 star read.

Harper has fled, hurt by the lies and truth that she recently discovered. She is hiding from Marcello trying to deal with her feelings for him and the betrayal.

There is a twist and she ends up in the hands of her mother. Marcello saves her and brings her back home, will she be able to forgive him and allow her heart to open up to him? Will she be more than an object to him?

Overall this was a great dark read and a great duet with the first book. The author does a great job with her writing.I loved it and I can’t wait to read more from this author. I felt Owned right along with Harper. 1-click and get started today.

Nothing could have prepared me for this conclusion. There was so much action, unforeseen and unexpected twists and turns and an epic love story in the midst of all this. This was definitely one of Wild's finest works! I was racing through the story to see what would happen next. I was never able to guess. Every page held a new gasp as something unraveled itself.

I loved these characters in book one, but they were phenomenal in the second book. The love and dedication that Marcello and Harper shared was out of this world. There was nothing that this couple wouldn't do for the other. Time and again they faced evil and death for the other. It was breathtaking and exhilarating to read.

This is one story that you don't want to miss!!!!

Owned is the continuation of Marcello and Harper's love story. Harper is on the run and has plenty of people after her. Alone and scared she finds her way in the Irish' clutches and finally gets all the answers she was looking for, but aren't what she expected. Marcello can't stop looking for Harper and is willing to do whatever is necessary to find her. This book really focuses a lot on the danger and suspense aspect. Harper has no idea who to trust and is wanted by the Italians and Irish. Marcello really is forced to embrace all the emotions he's been fighting when it comes to Harper. There's still steamy scenes and this time they have even more of an emotional impact behind them. I liked this series and would recommend them to those looking for a mafia romance.

This is the conclusion of this duet and it is another hot one! We continue the story where we left off in Sold with Harper running away from Marcello, but she has nowhere to go and nobody to help her. Soon she will find out that the life she knew was not her own and she was lied to from everybody and Marcello knew everything about her past. A lot of her past will come to light and be divulged to her and the riveting story will pull you in and leave you on the edge of your seat. These two strong willed characters will fight to the end and together they can have the life they wanted or not? Thrilling, nail biting, sizzling chemistry action packed story. The best Dark Mafia story I read this year! I volunteered to review this story.

This is the 2nd part of a duo by this author from A Dark Mafia Romance series. This is the conclusion to Harper and Marcello's story. The story starts where the last left off. Harper hiding from Marcello and living on the streets. Once she learned about her life, confusion and upset overwhelmed her. She feels betrayed that Mar Ella knew so many things about her, even that her parents aren’t hers. Why didn’t he tell her? She now has the memory of her dad being murdered in front of her eyes. I enjoyed this conclusion. Some parts pushed the boundaries of realism. There’s a lot,of push/pull by this couple and I was glad when their issues were finally resolved. I voluntarily received a beautifully colour covered arc from the author with gratitude and purchased a copy as well.
