This was slightly different from the other novellas I've read by Cassie Mint maybe because it's a bit longer. It's not one of my favorites by her, I've loved some other books by her a lot more but I guess it was okay.

I think the reason why I didn't like it that much is that it's a more developed story. I know, I know, I always complain when a story isn't well developed but I guess expected this to be just like the rest of her novellas that I've read, just a short and steamy story, which, to me, it wasn't.

Like I said, it was okay but I'll probably forget about it in a few days. 3 ⭐

Loved it!

Read 2: I still love this book for all the reasons I’ve already listed lol. It’s a nice little twist on your standard billionaire boss trope. A good comfort read.

I absolutely loved this one. It’s up there as one of my Cassie Mint favorites. I loved how Grant fell for Sasha and I especially loved how vulnerable he was. She laid out all these little breadcrumbs for us, showing that Grant had a real issue then when you discover it, you just want to hold him. Between that and his past experiences with the press you can’t blame him for hating reporters.

I understand how betrayed he felt when he found out the truth but I also liked how it tore him up to stay away from her.

Just a great story with great characters.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Sasha is a junior reporter who has been approached by her boss and editor in chief Simon to go undercover as the Personal Assistant to Grant Keller, none other than the CEO of Keller Enterprises and is well known for his hate hate relationship with the media. Her boss is convinced there is more going on within the company and has tasked her with the job of discovering Grant Keller’s secrets and expos them to the world. When she first meets Grant he couldn’t have been colder than an Eskimo trapped in an avalanche but it isn’t long before she is looking at this man who pretends to have a heart made of ice as a man and one that she is falling for harder and harder each day. She soon discovers the secrets that Grant is hiding and at the same time realises that she will never betray him. But when Grant finds out the truth of who she really is will he forgive her or reject her completely, one way or another she knows she is going end up with a broken heart?

Grant Keller has worked hard to build the life that he has today, he has more money than he could spend in four lifetime, but still he strives for more and has recently announced plans for a new artificial intelligence being develop, but he is now looking for his next challenge. With his new plans comes the usual media and press scrutiny, he has never hidden his abhorrence for the media and there relentless hounding of him and digging into his private life. His work life is going just as he wants except for his need of a new personal assistant, he is well known as being difficult to please so when he sees Sasha for the first time he knows that she will be a distraction and orders HR to find someone new but as time goes on he knows that she is too good at her job to replace and there is just something about her that feels right and for the first time in forever he feels something for a woman. But Sasha isn’t who he thought she was and her betrayal is of the worst kind, will she spill all his secrets or keep his truth and could there be real feelings or was everything a lie?

This book I loved Sasha fell hard for her boss and the whole time I was reading it I was thinking please just tell him the truth, not that would have helped. These two characters were made for each other, Grant was hard and bitter and she was sunshine and light. I highly recommend this book everything flowed perfectly with a great story. Fab ending and a little epilogue. 4.5* Read

going so well, until…

I like this author. She writes really well, with super steamy and sweet short romances that are perfect to cram into a crazy busy life. There’s always smuttiness but held together by emotional connection.

So when this book rolled across my Amazon ad feed, i clicked on it, figuring it would be like her other books. I was shocked—not in a good way—when she wrote their first time with a condom. A layer of latex between the hero and heroine, a symbol of distrust and a lack of commitment. There should be a rule that no condoms ever be allowed in steamy romance because it destroys the steam. It’s like throwing an ice cold bucket of water onto a fire. Its an ugly practicality that diminishes intimacy and connection.

Other than the ruined sex scene, the book was good. Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned but it comes off as if he’s celibate. Heroine is innocent. No others, no abuse or cheating. HEA with epilogue

Oh I love me a spicy office romance!!
The betrayal and the lies, man my heart BROKE. All I wanted to do was give Grant a cuddle, that man has been through soooo much. I wish Sasha had told him the truth sooner or had told Simon to stick the job up his ass.
This was super spicy and the sexual tension was off the charts, it was also beautiful and sooo sweet 🥹

Grant Keller is an billionaire who hates the press and tries to keep his privacy. Sasha is junior reporter who gets a job as Grant's PA to get the story on him. Her boss at the paper thinks he is hiding some big secret. The longer she "works" for Grant the more she believes there really is not story, there is more depth to Grant then what he allows others to see. As her attraction to Grant builds how is she going to get out of this mess without him hating her?

This story is a steamy story with a grumpy boss and younger reporter and HEA.

I gave this one a go since I haven't felt motivated lately. I actually liked it in the beginning, but it became boring and predictable later on. I couldn't see where the emotional connection between the characters started or how it grew, but I guess it's difficult to portray in a short story. One thing that really annoyed me was that the heroine had to be a virgin. It's so overused and lackluster for me.

Qual impacto a matéria teve? As pessoas entenderam? Se solidarizaram? O admiraram? O julgaram? Isso ajudou ou prejudicou os negócios? Poxa, mostrasse alguma coisinha, carambolas!

Faltou pouco para essa história ser perfeitinha. Apesar da minha frustração com o final, ainda assim foi um bom livro e gostei muito de lê-lo. Recomendo!

Sasha & Grant

Sigh. There was one simple plothole that kind of diminished my enjoyment of the story for me.

If he is such a high baller, very secretive CEO, that hates the press. Why doesn’t he use an NDA?

Aren’t they common for jobs in those positions?
Sasha signs that NDA and is legally prohibited from talking about Grant‘s business affairs (I mean that girl sat in business meetings that were off the books for crying out loud and you don’t stop her from potentially talking with an ironclad NDA?

Maybe that head injury made him forget about that. I know that is petty but that is the very first thing you sort out in a position like his.

Besides that … this was sweet. I would have loved to know what was written in Sasha‘s Article about and to him. But okay.

Oh I liked that they used a condom. It was also very realistic. I chuckled when Grant said „there’s something fluffy!“ when he dug through her bag for the condoms. I too would have been very curious about what that was. My adhd probably would have ran with it, lol.

Anyhow, I liked the book

I just would have loved to know what kind of backlash or headlines there were after the press got wind about Sasha‘s & Grant‘s liaison.
And I would have loved to know if Grant ever found out that Sasha slipped her reporter-boss‘s card to that ex assistants card, for that article that was published.

She discovers his secrets and finds love in the end

Filthy Headlines is an OTT insta-lust/love story with drama, intrigue, great banter, some mystery, and enough steam to keep you warm on a cold fall night. The story is about Sasha, a young reporter, and Grant, the man she has been assigned to discover what he is hiding and then report on it. Grant is the head of Keller Enterprises and they have just announced a new initiative, an AI tool. It is Sasha's editor, Simon, who has Grant in his crosshairs and is sending Sasha undercover to work for Grant as his assistant. What she discovers is not exactly what she was expecting. For both it is a chemical reaction when they are near, and they are going to be working very closely together so get ready to have a lot of steamy fun.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

So good

I admit that I initially didn’t want to read this book even though I really enjoyed the author’s other books. Probably because the Big Lie trope is my least favorite. However, I decided to go for it because I know that the characters will get their happily ever after in the end. This book was really good and I loved the relationship that built between Sasha and Grant. From annoying coworkers to love. I liked watching Grant slowly open up and how Sasha was surprised to find the human, vulnerable man beneath the billionaire. The added book length was nice too. I’ll definitely reread it.

No but, like, for real - what is with novella authors not being willing to write a non-virgin heroines to save their lives. Is it some sort of internalized sexism thing?
Cassie Mint is not the only one who writes these "I have child's level of understanding of sex" heroines but at the very least her heroes are not whores. And plots are interesting.
I know that Alexa Riley has some non-virgin heroines and a few virgin heroes to switch it up. Jenna Rose apparently can only write childish heroines and manwhores... Lucy Darling is pretty good tho.
If anyone comes across this and knows of a novella author who does not have an obsession with purity culture, please drop the name in comments. TY.

The couple: Grant and Sasha

Romance trope: secret identity
Length: 102 pages

Plot: Sasha is a junior reporter going undercover in Grant's company, charged by her boss with finding wrongdoing. The more she gets to know Grant, though, the more she realizes that he isn't involved in anything shady; in fact, he almost seems too good to be true. What will he think when he discovers who she really is?

Commentary: I was on edge waiting for Grant to discover Sasha's true purpose! I hated that she didn't tell him sooner. I did like that she didn't give anything to Simon and was always going to keep Grant's secrets. As someone who has a bit of face blindness, I could appreciate him having to keep pictures of everyone in order to recognize them. I still have trouble, even looking at pictures, so I know what that feels like.
Even though this was not very long, it seemed to have a little more complexity to it than some of this author's other stories - that's not a bad thing!

Sasha is an undercover reporter whose task is to find out dirt about Grant Keller. She gets hired as Keller's personal assistant. It turns out that Grant Keller does have some secrets but none of them are the kind that Sasha wants to expose. They fall for each other but it's hard to have a future when Sasha hasn't been open about who she is. This is a beautifully written short novella that packs quite a few feels in it. and I quite enjoyed it.

Another fun, quick read by Cassie Mint! Sasha goes in undercover to get some dirt on Grant for a story. What she gets is so much more as she discovers the attraction between the two of them. I love a grumpy hero and I think Grant fits the bill perfectly! As with all of Cassie's stories, you get heat, instalove but this one came with a little heartbreak as well due to all the secrets. Fun, quick read - really liked it!

Filthy Headlines was another OTT insta love romance from Cassie Mint. It has all the amazing elements you expect from Cassie Mint. As a reporter Sasha is assigned to go undercover to expose super rich billionaire Grant Keller. But the more time she spends with the grumpy, secretive man, the stronger their attraction becomes. I definitely recommend reading their story. 5 stars!

I usually don’t like the lying trope, I hate lies 😬, but this one was so sweet! Lies usually give me anxiety but Cassie Mint went pretty gentle on me with this one. Yes Grant of course reacts badly to finding out but I love the conclusion and him coming back to Sasha. The car scenes added to my getting over the lying part! Lol I would recommend this nice quick book!

My fav so far

Mostly follows the CM formula but I loved the dynamic between the characters in this one. I’m an insta love fan but I prefer when the H an h actually spend some time out of bed getting to know each other. Probably why I liked this one so much.

Even though it was a bit longer than most of her Novellas, I am so glad this was longer.
The characters had more depth, the story was great and I really liked how it turned out.

Pretty cute!

This was actually pretty cute. I liked that, even though it was an instalove novella, there was some slow-burn aspects. I also liked the revelation about why Grant refused press.
