He’s just the spark she needs…

Anna Price is an Enologist, a world-renowned expert in anything having to do with wine. Her work at her family’s Crescent Lake Winery in the Finger Lakes region of New York has her feeling as if she’s treading water. There has to be more to life than just wine. Has she lost her spark? She’s jolted when her father suffers a heart attack, then gets a jolt of a different kind from the man taking care of her father.

Colin Grant is a nurse practitioner, specializing in the care of cardiac patients. He’d met Anna once before, but had just ended a long-distance relationship and wasn’t ready for someone new. But this time it’s different. There’s no denying his attraction to the curvy girl who has no idea how beautiful she is.

When Anna is offered a job in France, they may find their growing relationship crushed. How can she say no to the offer of a lifetime? Colin’s job is caring for other people’s hearts; he’s determined not to have his own broken again. Absence doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder. But is it worth the risk, for a lifetime of love?

4.5 Stars for Crush (Crescent Lake Winery #2)
This is the first book I have read by Lucinda Race but it certainly won’t be the last, I was captivated by Anna and Colin’s story and I became in engrossed in everything happening at The Crescent Lake Winery. I did worry that not having read book one would I still enjoy this book, well I shouldn’t have worried because this can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone but that being said I will read book one as soon as time permits.
Anna’s father is rushed into hospital after suffering a heart attack and Colin is part of the team looking after him, he finds himself attracted to Anna but doesn’t want to act on his feelings until her father is out of the woods and at home. What follows is two people getting to know each other and realising the feeling they have are mutual, both having suffered with bad relationships in the past neither are eager to rush things. This is a slow burn, it’s a romance built on trust and friendship, with adorable characters and it’s a captivating, entertaining read that I highly recommend. Looking forward to reading more from the very talented Ms Race.

4.5 Star review of Crush (Crescent Lake Winery Series #2) by Lucinda Race
Lucinda Race is a new author to me and how I have not come across her books before I have no idea. From the first chapter I was drawn in to the story she wove about Anna Price and Colin Grant. This can be read as a stand alone but I will go back and read book one as well and other stories by Ms.Race when I can.
The writing was strong and I could easily picture myself at Crescent Lake Winery. Anna is feeling that there is more to life than working at her family winery. However when her father suffers a heart attack, she puts any thoughts of leaving on hold. She is intrigued by Colin, one of the nurses who is looking after him. There is a connection that both of them feel and as they explore their relationship slowly builds.
I liked that the relationship was built on love and trust, but what will happen when Anna is offered the job of a lifetime in France? Will their blossoming relationship crash and burn? Or will they both make sacrifices to ensure it flourishes?

Thank you NetGalley, Lucinda Race and MC Two Press for the digital copy of Crush. This is my personal review.
This book took my heart up and down as I read it. Anna is an expert in her field at her family’s winery, Crescent Lake Winery. She has been doing it for so long she is starting to feel like there is more out there she wants to do.
Colin is a nurse practitioner who cares for cardiac patients. When Anna’s father, Sam, has a heart attack Colin is one of the nurses on his case.
The chemistry between Anna and Colin is there from the very first time the see each other. Colin remembers his attraction to Anna when her father was a patient earlier.
They quickly know they want to see more of each other. The slow and easy build up of their relationship is so perfect that the words just roll off the pages.
I have enjoyed getting to know the people in this series and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love this series; each book gets better. In the second book, we get Anna’s story. Anna’s Father, Sam, has a history of heart attacks. As the book begins, we find him back in the hospital with his latest event. At the hospital, Colin is part of her father’s care team.

This is not the first meeting of Anna and Colin, but this time he asks her out. I enjoyed the slow build to this relationship and getting to know Anna and Colin. I am looking forward to the next book and Jack’s story.

Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This is book two in The Crescent Lake Winery series and it is Anna and Colin's story. Anna's father is in hospital and he needs a heart bypass and Anna was so worried as he had already had a heart attack in the past. Colin wanted to ask Ann out but with her father in hospital and Anna being vulnerable and also Colin was on the team looking after her father so he would have to wait a bit longer. Colin and Anna to on a date and the more time that they spend together the harder there feelings for each other grew stronger but will it be enough for them to have a chance of being together especially as they have both suffered in the past with different relationships and got there hearts broken. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page until the last and I couldn't put this book down as I loved it so much and it was a real page turner. Lucinda Race is a brilliant author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

This is the second book in the Crescent Lake Winery series. You can easily enjoy this book as a standalone but you can expect some minor spoilers to book one since this series is about a family that owns a family that owns a winery. I loved this book. The story is so well written that I had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed the buildup of Anna and Colin's relationship. This is a clean, sweet romance. Anyone who knows my reading habits knows I gravitate towards very steamy books but Ms. Race's books are so engaging and well written I honestly don't miss the steamy parts. If you like books that leave the intimate moments up to the readers imagination then this book is perfect for you. I can't wait for book three which will be Jack's story (Anna's brother).

Anna is at a cross road in life she has always wanted a family but it appears not to be on the cards for her and she feels she will be tied to the family business forever in a thankless role, but due to a family emergency a brief encounter from the past is back and things are looking up. The struggle Anna goes through surrounded by her diverse family has you really get why she feels under appreciated while contributing so much, so when Colin comes into her life I was so excited as they are soo good together. Not only do we get to see Anna and Colin's relationship grow, but the dynamics within the family and the business change which at times leaves Anna speechless, but we know love never runs smoothly and turns out Anna and Colin are going to be tested to the max.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

”Crush” is the second book in Lucinda Race’s Crescent Lake Winery series.

This is my first book written by Lucinda Race and I very much enjoyed the sweet story. Both Colin and Anna are such wholesome characters who are trying to find their own way to happiness.

I enjoyed how intertwined both of their families were to the storyline and how much they loved their families.

The areas where I felt could have used some development was specifically around the conflicts in the book, the rival French winery (external) and the career indecision for Anna (internal). I would have enjoyed more conflict or a deeper story for each of these conflicts to make it more believable.

I found the love story between Colin and Anna genuine and adorable. I am glad they found each other after their first meeting and were able to make it work. I usually am all about the extra steamy books but sometimes it’s nice when the steam comes on slow like we see in this book.

I look forward to reading the first book in the series and the next one coming out. 🥰

Crush is the second book in Lucinda Race’s Crescent Lake Winery series where the scenery and landscape are breathtaking, but real life often intrudes on the tranquil surrounds. Crush is a well-written and heartfelt story of Anna and Colin and the individual challenges they have faced, and the steady building relationship that shows them that together they can conquer anything. This is a story that touches the reader’s heart with deep emotion and keeps on giving as the events and romance unfold. A thoroughly enjoyable read and a wonderful addition to the series.

I have fallen completely in love with this series and the Price family, and this book is an excellent addition to their story. Anna and Colin have both had their hearts broken in past serious relationships, and they're building their romance slow and steady. For a while, I thought they weren't going to make it, with her career opportunity leaving him with feelings of deja vu. The closeness of the Price family is incredible, but especially like seeing that Anna and Liza are more than sisters, they're close friends as well. I enjoyed Sam and Sherry's story in the prequel, and it was tough to watch the strain on the family with his health issues. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

The second book in The Crescent Lake Winery Series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. This is Anna Price an Enologist, and Colin Grant a nurse practitioner, specializing in the care of cardiac patients, so they meet again when her Dad has a heart attack. Colin has been hurt before so is leery of giving his heart away again. I enjoyed seeing their story come together. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A new to me author and I wasn't disappointed! Her characters are so well developed you wish you could know them in real life. They're realistic, easy to relate to and easy to love. The story captures you and holds your attention from the beginning to the end. The location is so well described you feel like you're there in person. After reading this book I want to read book 1.

Again a bit to wholesome but this time with a touch of worries about the patriarch health. Not also really fan of this all martyr attitude of Anna with all the sacrifices she make for her family. Story is not bad but just not to my liking

Anna and Colin reconnect as he is the nurse attending her father after a heart attack. Both had bad relationships but now the sparks are flying. The characters are well done with intense feelings and emotions, along with close family ties and great backstories. The surprises and twists along the way keep it entertaining. Loved the locale and the slow build that was heartwarming. Definitely hooked on this series.

Anna and Colin’s Story

I have read the other books in this series and enjoyed them very much, so I was looking forward to Anna's story. The author paints beautiful word pictures of both setting and character, pulling you into the story. A larger part of the beginning of the novel revolves around the Price patriarch’s health due to a heart attack. I am an RN, and the only flaw in the book is that I don't think the author portrayed the hospital/medical scenes accurately, especially at what would likely be a small-town hospital. I won't detail it, as I'm sure it would not interest those who are not in the medical field. Other than that, though, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Anna and Colin as they grew to know and trust each other as they fell in love. Of course, there has to be a monkey wrench in the works, but I enjoyed the way the author teased that out. I love the strong family the author has created in the Prices. How they interact and treat each other feels realistic for a large, caring family. A very enjoyable read.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Crush by Lucinda Race is a modern-day romance about Anna Price, who is longing for someone special in her life, and Colin Grant, a cardiac nurse practitioner who is caring for Anna's dad after a heart attack. The Price family owns a winery, and Anna is an master wine blender at her family's winery.

Anna's dad's heart attack throws the two back together - several years after they first met, were attracted to each other, but then fell out of touch.

Lucinda Race weaves a a plot with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting, while developing her characters.

The book is the 2nd in The Crescent Lake Winery Series (plus there is a prequel novella) - and I enjoyed the story enough to want to read the others in the series.

Thanks so much to #NetGalley for providing a copy of #Crush in exchange for an honest review.

This was a sweet romance and I really liked the premise from the publisher summary. We have Anna and Colin who meet because her father is rushed to the hospital having a heart attack. Colin is his nurse practitioner in the cardio unit. They’ve actually met before - a few years prior, her dad had another heart attack and Colin helped care for him then as well. Due to other circumstances, he didn’t pursue the attraction the first time around.
Anna is the enologist (basically the person who blends and creates the wines) at the family vineyard. Since it’s a family business, there is some drama sprinkled in, partially related to the dad’s heart attack and partially just family dynamics, but mostly between Dad and one or a few of the 6 adult children.
The summary talks about the couple having to deal with Anna getting a job in Europe that could tear them apart (since who wants to do long distance over the Atlantic Ocean). I kept waiting, and kept waiting, and KEPT waiting for the job offer. The book was at 78% when that finally dropped. It might just be me but it sat wrong that it took so long for something so specific from the summary to come to pass.
Overall the book was just ok. Even the drama at the end that so many books have, didn’t have that much tension. The writing felt a little disjointed at times and I think it kept me a bit disconnected from the characters.
It was a good effort by this author but I think the writing needs some work.

The story
Anna is the 30-something winemaker at the family-owned Crescent Lake winery. A whizz at science, she followed her father’s footsteps and became the winemaker. Her brothers run the farming and business side of the winery. But she isn’t getting any younger, and she hopes to settle down and have a family one day before it’s too late. When her dad has a sudden heart attack, the nurse at the hospital is Colin, who she has met before. This time, he doesn’t let her get away before making sure to set up a date with her.

My thoughts
A sweet story about finding love and learning to trust again. There is a lot of detail about each date, Anna’s trip to London to speak at a wine convention and the sudden offer to work in France. At a very late point in the story there is some not very descriptive steamy stuff happening. A cute story that gives vibes of Kristin Higgins’s Blue Heron vineyard series.

I read an eARC copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher.

In this addition to the Crescent Lake Winery series, we get the story of Anna, the winery’s enologist. She first met Colin at the hospital, when her father had his first heart attack. Colin was attracted to her then, but never followed through. When Anna’s Dad has another heart attack, Colin won’t make the same mistake. Will they get their happily ever after or will his past, failed relationship have him put on the brakes? I won’t leave any spoilers, but I highly recommend this series and this author. I bet you’ll fall in love with these wonderful characters just like I did and be eagerly awaiting the next book.

Anna had met Colin, her dad’s nurse, years ago when he first had his heart attack. Now that Sam is back in the hospital Anna and Colin are reunited. He will not put off asking her out a second time. Anna shares her love of the winery with Colin, and he helps her see his life as a nurse practitioner. I really liked this book. The strength and loyalty of the family is noteworthy. The relationship between Anna and Colin depicts fun exploring each other's hobbies, supporting each other, talking out their thoughts, and sharing true feelings. The winery setting adds to the enjoyment of the story.

After Anna’s father has a heart attack she gets another chance to reconnect with Collin, her father’s nurse from years earlier. I enjoyed the togetherness of Anna and her family as well as the sweet innocence of the budding romance between her and Collin. The fun information on wine (which I love) was an added bonus. While this book was a bit slow to start, it found its way around again. The ending was wrapped up nicely and I liked that the author really focused on the importance of family and following your dreams. If you pick up this book, don’t forget the wine!

I enjoyed the narration of Lisa Beacom, she brings out the romance and characters. Perfect for this book.

Colin wants to ask Anna out, but he cant while her father is in hospital and he needs a heart bypass. But he does and they go on a date and the more time they spend together, their feelings for each other grew stronger. Both have got there hearts broken. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start.

Anna Price is an ecologist, specialist in producing wine combinations. When her dad is rushed to the hospital his care is under a male nurse practioneer, Colin. Sparks fly between them and soon a friendship develops into love. Anna is offered a work experience in France for a year. She decides to take the job, but Colin doesn't believe in long distance relationships. Find out if they get their HEA. Lisa Beacon does a great job with the narration.
