When You're in Luck, You're in Luck Willie Nelson's bus driver is killed and his guitar, Trigger, is stolen in the parking lot behind Ryman Hall, Bordeau and Bristol are recruited by the Nashville Police Department to find the killer and the guitar. Willie carries the two detectives on his tour bus, Honeysuckle Rose, to Memphis, Branson, and Austin to recover Trigger. The chase turns into a version of Smokey and the Bandit from Branson to the Missouri/Oklahoma State line. Following several adventures Willie shows Bordeau and Bristol his ranch outside Austin, Texas; takes them to see his statue at the Moody Theater where Austin City Limits is broadcast live on Saturday nights; and eventually takes them to their train for New York.
Larry Vardiman is a paleoclimatologist retired in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He's published dozens of technical books, articles, and monographs. Now he's pursuing his passion of writing novels in the style of Agatha Christie, Tom Clancy, and Patrick O'Brien.
