'Deep in a large, ancient forest, sat a small, lonely egg.' So begins Ella Bailey's (of No Such Thing fame) picturebook about a little sharp-toothed dinosaur that wakes up without its parents and wanting to find out what kind of creature it's going to grow up to be.

From bright, lush double-page spreads to cute, boxed vignettes, we follow our little dinosaur as she traverses different habitats and landscapes whilst meeting different dinosaurs to see if she's a younger version of them. It is only when she returns back to her original nest that she discovers her true self.

It's a sweet little story with warm, gently humorous illustrations.

So much to love about this book! It's a sweet story and beautiful illustrations. As another mom friend pointed out, you don't need to know and pronounce a bunch of dinosaur names. But they're all included at the back so you can practice them and know them!
