Everyone can enjoy another great new year of the best new recipes, tastings, and testings handpicked by the editors of America's Test Kitchen
This annual best-of-the-best collection of recipes, tastings, and testings has once again been carefully selected from the hundreds of recipes developed throughout the last year by the editors of Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country magazines and from the new cookbooks Foolproof Fish, Cooking for One, The Complete One Pot, The Complete Plant-Based Cookbook, and Toaster Oven Perfection. The 2022 edition offers a wide array of everyday-to-sophisticated and globally inspired recipes such as Horiatiki Salata (Hearty Greek Salad), Mumbai Frankie Wraps, Beef Wellington, and Herbed Lamb Shoulder with Fingerling Potatoes and Asparagus. As is traditional, the book ends with a chapter of impressive desserts including Chocolate-Espresso Tart, Peach Zabaglione Gratin, and Nutella Rugelach. All of the year's top ingredient tastings and equipment testings are also included.
America's Test Kitchen, based in a brand new state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility with over 15,000 sq. ft. of test kitchens and studio space, in Boston's Seaport District, is dedicated to finding the very best recipes for home cooks. Over 50 full-time (admittedly obsessive) test cooks spend their days testing recipes 30, 40, up to 100 times, tweaking every variable until they understand how and why recipes work. They also test cookware and supermarket ingredients so viewers can bypass marketing hype and buy the best quality products. As the home of Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country magazines, and publisher of more than one dozen cookbooks each year, America's Test Kitchen has earned the respect of the publishing industry, the culinary world, and millions of home cooks. America's Test Kitchen the television show launched in 2001, and the company added a second television program, Cook's Country, in 2008.
Discover, learn, and expand your cooking repertoire with Julia Collin Davison, Bridget Lancaster, Jack Bishop, Dan Souza, Lisa McManus, Tucker Shaw, Bryan Roof, and our fabulous team of test cooks!
While ATK volumes are always good, this particular one didn't jump out at me and say make these recipes. I wouldn't turn them down if they were in front of me :) but most of these weren't for my kitchen.
Great product reviews and recommendations as always.
The stars of this year: Spiced Wild Rice and Coconut Soup Charred Chicken Caesar Salad Skillet-Roasted Green Beans Braised Red Cabbage with Apple, Bacon, and Shallots* Tourte Aux Pommes de Terre Cheesy Mashed Potato Casserole Hung Kao Mun Gati - Thai Coconut Rice Pasta e Piselli (Pasta & Peas) Dan Dan Mian - this one has lots of unsual non-staple groceries Smashed Burgers Tacos al Pastor
I own many of ATK books. I have been baking for 30 years and I always learn something. This book is no exception. There is something for everyone. The book is divided into kinds of courses (apps, soups, fish, poultry, beef, dessert, etc.) I highly recommend this book and will be buying my own copy soon!
Excellent as always. Worth reading cover to cover, so many great recipes and clear instructions, as well as reasoning as to why they developed them. They are one of the gold-standard cookbook developers in my opinion.
