Amelia Hutchins is by far one of my top fav fantasy romance authors. I love the characters she creates the mythology is amazing to me.. This series had the perfect amount angst and alpha male goodness that I love ☺... I really like how Lena and Lucians story ended .. Can't wait to finish reading her other series that I also enjoy very much

Skipped most pages of the book as nothing but 80% porn, 10% repeated and recycled text whilst the remaining 10% was actually interesting. I’d like to read a book that doesn’t have a sex scene for every 3 pages of normal reading 🤮. Overall, contradictory characters and story lines.

Revealing the Monster is the final installment in the Playing With Monsters Series. I am a vast Amelia Hutchins fan, and this series has been another winning series for me. Lena and Lucian have been through hell and back, and it is finally time for them to find their HEA. However, before they can settle down and rule the world, they must fight the evil forces trying to tear them apart. Lucian has kept many secrets from Lena, and when she discovers the truth, it will take all of the strength she has to love him through the lies and destruction.

Overall, Revealing the Monster is a smoking hot read full of passion, non-stop action, suspense, and a powerful ensemble of characters. There is no way to enjoy this read without reading the entire series from the beginning. In addition, be forewarned that although it isn't a must, it is helpful to have read The Fae Chronicles because there is quite a bit of crossover between the two worlds. There is no one more gifted in paranormal storytelling than Amelia Hutchins. I am consistently inspired by her heroines and captivated by the heroes she creates. If she is writing, my Kindle and I are waiting!

After reading the series months ago and obsessing over what Lucian is and coming up with theories and finding information that made my theory be the ultimate reality, I was glad to know he was what I always believed him to be!

One simple word in the last 3 pages was what we got about him and the scream I let out when it was revealed......it was subtle and done in a fun way.

They got their HEA and I loved it.

We do not get Spyder's reveal despite the fact its plain and simple what he is - but since he is getting his own book that means his reveal will be discussed in it.

One thing I do wish we got was Lucian saying the three words...he said it in different ways and showed it beyond belief but I wanted him to say it back to her when she last said it to just shock her?

Also the plans he had in place to bring her back and fix the mistakes that were made was a nice twist that I did not expect.

Also the possibility that Syn's daughter being with one of the prince's of hell?? Can't wait for that book.

Zahruk? Holy shit

Alden? That was unexpected and sad but it will probably be a huge addition to the world and story.

Erie? We didn’t get Callahan in this book - well we did but he was dead and it was his body parts lol. I love her and her next book is going to be amazing.

Lucifer? I couldn’t hate him and I don’t. I’m glad he did the right thing and tried to make things right.

Utter perfection..

So it's been a few days and I'm still processing 😅

Lena and Lucain wrecked me in the best way.
I laughed, cried, shouted, squealed, gasped, read with one eye open and then scared to turn the page.

It was honestly, such a satisfying end. Heartwarming, fulfilling and loveable, hopeful and *dreamy sigh* everything you could ask for.

The things revealed in well, revealing, blew my mind and this is why I'm still processing Haha.

The love that Lucain has for Lena.... there is literally NOTHING he wouldn't do...nothing.

Lena wants his love, and she going through the motions with having her emotions back now and girl, she has been through so much and to see the HEA?

It was magical...

After personally waiting 2 and a half years to find out who Lucian is...... I was super happy with how it was done, and how far into the book it was... because I stared at that page way longer than normal 🤣

I guess right, which was so amazing, but to see it actually on page after being sucked into this series was beyond satisfying 😌

Amelia never ceases to amaze me with her writing and her twisted mind. The plot, secrets, reveals, the characters, the STEAM!!! Along came a spyder... was *chefs kiss* and I need a drink after it 🥃

In typical Amelia fashion, this book is 5 stars worthy 🌟🙌

Thankfully this series is done. Starting to see a definite pattern to Amelia’s writing. Basically she uses her same characters in new story with different names. I.e. Ryder/Lucian/Knox they have the same personality. Once you have read one of her series you know what her future stories will be, she might change little things such as what species MC’s are, but every rival female will have a name starting with “C” I.e. Claire, Chloe…FMC will always be 5’ 2” blonde, blue eyes with MMC 6’ 6” massive muscles. What is even more pathetic is as of this moment the release day, and there is 100+ 5 star reviews from 9 to 10 months ago asking for a release date, not one of them are actually reviews and if they are, they are not listed as ARC either, it mostly obsessive fans trying to push her review stars up. Used to love her writing and stories until I seen the same pattern with her characters, I bought this one to finish out the series. I guessed what Lucian was on last book. Writing is about the same she still has repetitive statements. I think the glossy shine has worn off Amelia as a go to author for me. And her characters are not as spicy and hot as other authors characters. I like dark erotica romance and Amelia’s writing is tame.

I’m so freaking disappointed. I’ve always been an Amelia fan, but her last 4ish books have brought me to a breaking point. The monsters series started SO WELL - it was steamy with a plot that dragged you in and wouldn’t let you go. I was so excited for this one, but it happens to be about 90% porn, 10% plot. Her older books had a tasteful amount to keep you intrigued, but not enough to be a distraction from the purpose of the novel. It seems her writing style changed a little, too… instead of filling your head with intense visuals and bringing you into her world, it’s more of a “tell you exactly how I feel and what’s going on” which gets old after a while.

This one hurt. I think I’m officially done with Amelia 😢 if you like hard erotica/smut, she writes it well, but I miss the world building and plots with twists you would never see coming. I’m even more terrified for the next ashes book, if this is the new trend.

And Spyder yummy Spyder, we need to find him a mate and soon. I loved this final monster book, I hope to read more from their world in the future.

HOLY FUCK. This was an epic conclusion to the Monsters series and I am so damn impressed.

Not only did we get some epic villains, and some surprising allies, but it also wrapped up the entire story in a HEA that was entirely suitable for the Master and Mistress of Chaos. Plus, WE FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT THE FUCK LUCIAN IS!! All I’ll say is that I was right 😂

The sex scenes were, as always, explosive and wild. Amelia never disappoints and I’m thankful she finally gave Kitty and Spyder their moment. I love that she wrote that in a way that people can skip it if they weren’t keen and it wouldn’t take away from the story at all, so considerate.

It felt good to have our chaotic H and h back at each other’s throats again and it was nice to have lots of visitors from Faery popping in with updates too. (Without spoiling it for anyone, the next few Fae Chronicles are going to be explosive as fuck!!)

What a way to end a series. Amelia Hutchins once said she doesn’t write love story’s. But she totally does! They’re just a lot more badass then soft and sweet. Lucian has been my favorite creation of hers and it’s bittersweet to say good bye to him and Lena. But I know it won’t be the end of seeing them. I think the conclusion to this epic rollercoaster ride was perfect. With her endings your never left unsatisfied or unfulfilled she covers everything so that it’s a complete closure to that story being told but not the characters you’ve come to love. And she out did herself with the steam and smut. Smoking hot!!!!

Just a warning, my review will be completely biased because Amelia Hutchins is my favorite author of all things fantasy and paranormal…and dark!

The book — the series — nah, absolutely everything she writes is pure perfection.

The conclusion to the Monster series was everything I hoped it would be — all gets revealed!!! That’s all I will say about that - no spoilers here!

If you decide to jump into her books and the wild and crazy world building of this author - please READ and actual HEED the trigger warnings. Do not go into them blind as some may suggest — we are a very special #tribe that enjoy the escapism and FICTION that Amelia Hutchins shares with her readers.

This was supposed to be a reveal

Do yourself a favor and skip to about 75% to start reading. The reveal happens somewhere around 94%, the actual name is stated at 98%. The first 70% of the book is repetitive nothingness with zero substance.
At least I know now and can be done with this author's books.

Another fantastic ending to another fantastic series with story lines and character development/changes that will hopefully end up in future books Zahruk and Alden fingers crossed not to far into the future .Lucian was a total ass at times but when looking at the story as whole you can see how he really feels for Lena .The breaking of the bond scene between Lena Spyder and Lucian was HOT and yes was needed to be done and i loved it .A couple of the characters changed how i felt about them is this book ,Fred i loved in Eries book but this one yeah i hated him and Lucifer storylines changed how i felt for him in this book too and i felt for him i really did .The heart breaking chapter for me is chapter 37 you will love it but have the tissues ready .AND finally finding out what/who Lucian really is i was reading with anticipation all the way through right till the very end . It was a well deserved ending for Lena for all she has been through . I loved this book and the series as a whole cant wait for more future stories from Amelia get reading peeps its a great set of stories well recommended.

Go Big or Go Home right?!?!

Hutchins is the master at creating magical and twisted worlds! The characters she gives birth to through her writing are unique and the words she puts to paper are consuming.

The Monsters series is addicting and this final book was crazy intense! Nope.. I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone..just fair warning..you will not get anything done. This book will suck you in, skin you, rip out your heart, melt your panties, beat your kindle against the wall and then spit you out with the worlds worst hangover.

I am not giving Lucian away, you'll have to read about it like I did! But holy cow eye corrumba that 3 way tag team between Lucian, Lena and Spyder made me fan my hot face, take a break, and get a cold drink! (so glad the hubby stayed home today with me lol)

I am so pleased with this series I once again, had to take a day off of work to read it. I'm going to start charging you my PTO time, Amelia 😂

I really enjoyed this whole series. From the 1st book till the final chapter. It was very entertaining.

I'm hoping to see a couple of spin offs...hint, hint...ALONG CAME A SPYDER 🥰 and maybe The Unseelie Horde King Zurack. Two characters who have stolen my heart.

OMG...this book was everything! Lucian and Lena's relationship is beautiful. He wants her from the first time they meet but she pushed him away.

Eventually, he gets what it is that he desires and turns her out. While teaching her the finer art of being sexually involved with a REAL MAN, he dominates her and steals her heart.

A lot of twist and turns in this story but it is beautiful.

I FINALLY mustered up the energy to finish this book/series/universe... and now can put my entire A.H. reading experience to rest. This is going to be quick because if you’re this deep, you know what to expect. I was a smidge disappointed. The series started out so strong but became repetitive, and I really think she could have tied it all up with the previous book because the first 80% was sex and filler.

I’m not really a fan of the writing style. This one didn’t have too many preachy, speechy monologues, but it still has quite a bit of repetitive parts (to make sure we REALLY get what she’s telling us) and the usual plot holes/dropped subplots of side characters that seem to never get closure… all with loads of smirking.

Bottom Line- This was my favorite couple, but I feel like their story dragged on WAY too long. I was pretty bored the first 3/4 of the book with the continued cycle of Lena sassing, sex, and endless sexual innuendos between her and Spyder. The last part picks up, we FINALLY are told what Lucian is (which was a bit uneventful since she just threw it in a convo as the end of the book). The ending was rushed, and several loose ends were left for Lucifer, Zahruk, Alden, Adam, Erie, and Spyder. (Best of luck getting those answers.) BUT I’m happy to put this universe behind me, and I doubt I’ll ever read this author again. I’m blocking Kahleena’s kidnapping, blocking the dropped storylines of the previous books/overlapping series... and am sticking a fork in it.

Perfect ending for them. It was bittersweet, but it always is to say goodbye to beloved characters. I enjoyed reading it immensely and couldn't put it down after I started reading. I think Amelia Hutchins has a very rare gift to create worlds which fit together perfectly and so too do the stories of the characters she creates. I definetly didn't see the stuff coming that was happening and I am greatful that I got surprised on every twist and turn and still got all the answeres I was looking forward to being revealed in this book.

I almost didn’t finish this one. I honestly don’t know what happened to this author. Her books have lost all semblance of plot and have just become straight up porn. Which is fine, but when the books first have an interesting story and then slowly devolve to this, it makes me mad. I think over half this book was sex, and kind of disturbing sex. I’ve definitely noticed the same scenes in her newer books and it’s just like she has totally run out of ideas. I think I’m done with trying her books, and certainly not paying for them anymore. How disappointing.

Now, while I know that much of the appeal to Hutchins books is their smut….. this was just, A LOT. But as always the plot was intense and complex which was the only thing I appreciated the most.
