Ok, I’ll start this review off by admitting I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with the Fazbear Frights series. On one hand, I think stories like Step Closer, Coming Home, Bunny Call, The Real Jake and What We Found are some of the best FNaF content. But on the other hand, you have the Faz-Goo stories, In the Flesh, and pretty much all of the stories from the last 3 books.

So, how does this graphic novel collection add up? In my opinion, very poorly, in fact I would go as far as to say this is one of the worst pieces of FNaF merchandise there is.

Why is this? Well, it can all be chalked up to one thing; The art in these stories is extremely poor. You know, the main draw of a graphic novel adaptation? Everything looks messy, rushed, sloppily made, the colours are off on most pages (Why does Into the Pit have so much blue…?) and overall just feels like it was made with no care, it was simply meant to sell on the title alone to make money.

The biggest offender of this is the Plushtrap design from the third story “Out of Stock”… How was that design approved??? It looks nothing like how it is described in the original book and clashes with the rest of the art in the story, it looks like 2 people with completely different art-styles drew this story, 1 person drew the Plushtrap, the other drew everything else. I understand Scholastic rushes their artists with awful deadlines, but this? There’s no excuse! Unless they hired someone who has no knowledge of FNaF at all, which given their track record wouldn’t surprise me.

Overall, like the Graphic Novel trilogy before it, The Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel collection is a poor adaptation of the books it is based on, I sincerely hope Scott Cawthon either stops commissioning these or at least gives the rights to them to a more competent company like Dark Horse.

Wow, that was bad, like really bad. Of all the Fazbear Frights books this is the one I am most familiar with and I was kind of excited to see it in a visual format. Like there is some scary stuff in these stories and I was excited to see those horror brought to life. Let me tell you, I was very disappointed. First of all, the art is bad. Just straight up not appealing to look at. And that goes for all of the art styles because I swear it is different for every story. The third story especially has a totally different style. And on the topic, you see the cover, yeah that is a straight-up lie. The plush trap chaser is completely unrecognizable in the story and I am very upset by this. And then the people in the other stories just look bad. This is just a bad graphic novel adaptation, do not bother.

This one is pretty entertaining. I really like the illustration, and the story although is not as creepy as I was expected and predictable it's still captivating and I enjoyed it.
A fun read to get me out of reading slump.

This entered the realm of so-bad-it-is-actually-enjoyable simply because it made me laugh. At it. Which I don't think was the intention.

The volume collects three stories:
- Into the Pit (Scott Cawthon; ill. by Didi Esmeralda)
- To Be Beautiful (Scott Cawthon; ill. by Anthony Morris Jr.)
- Out of Stock (Scott Cawthon; ill. by Andi Santagata)

Let's start with the art. Now I will be the first to admit that this is an entirely subjective take, but the art was bad. "Into the Pit" definitely had the worst illustration, as in it looked like one of those YouTube accounts that pairs cheap clip-art-looking illustrations with user-submitted stories (I don't know how else to describe them but spiritually this has the same vibes). "Out of Stock" definitely had the most interesting visuals, with a sort of sketchy messiness that definitely played into the childish horror. I could see how this art could potentially be spooky, but to me the design of the blobby green Springtrap, or whatever the fandom is calling the weird homicidal rabbit now, just looked goofy.

Now for the common culprit: Scott. Oh, Scott. You rapscallion.

"Into the Pit" tells the story of a boy who is dirt poor. That is his one and only personality trait. With no friends and no money (don't forget he's poor) to keep him entertained over the summer, he is forced to spend his vacation in a monotonous routine: wake up, get dropped off at the library, buy one (1) slice of pizza at the pizza place next door (he's poor), get picked up by his dad. Repeat. That's weak, honestly. When I was a kid and my mom had no money I would just walk into the woods and pretend I was a Warrior cat.

Anyway, this kid eventually realizes if he crawls into the nasty ass, off-limits ballpit in the pizza place, he can travel back in time. I'm sure for you FNAF nutjobs this means something very deep, but all I could think about was DashCon and honestly it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. In the past there is a Springtrap that appears randomly in the background and sort of just stands there. It's very funny.

Eventually, the kid's dad (in the present) is grabbed by Springtrap or Bonnie or whatever, who emerges from the ballpit and seemingly drags him into its colorful, probably urine-filled depths. Then Springtrap emerges, reaches for the kid.... and drives him home? That's right, Springtrap is now the kid's father. There is an absolutely hysterical shot of the enormous animatronic sleeping stiffly in the dad's bed. Eventually the kid physically fights the animatronic, defeats it, and the dad comes back. The end.

Now, based on the abysmal writing, terrible pacing, blatant mistakes in the dialogue, and what can best be described as middle school Spanish textbook art, I assumed this graphic novel (if we stretch the legal definition of the word novel) was made for six year olds. However, upon seeing a child wrestle a giant rabbit animatronic OVER HIS FATHER'S DEAD BODY until it entangled itself in netting and DIED BY HANGING, I began to wonder if the intended audience was older.

Story #2, shifts gears a bit. We spend the first half neither seeing nor reading anything about animatronics, and honestly I was beginning to wonder if I had suffered a stroke and had suddenly switched comics without realizing. The bulk of the story is spent with a girl (i think in high school?) who is struggling with her appearance and lack of popularity. On her way home, she sees an enormous, broken animatronic in a dumpster, so she does the logical thing and brings it home with her. This 14-year-old or however old she is then turns into a professional electrician for a hot minute and fixes her up. The animatronic is so grateful she promises to do whatever she wishes, which is entirely limited to making herself more conventionally attractive. I'm not sure how she's achieving this, especially when she gives her a whole boob job. The ending was the only truly interesting one in the entire volume—turns out the animatronic was actually turning the girl herself into a robot so she could swap places with her. How does she end up swapping places? Why does the girl fall apart once her transformation is complete? How did this robot perform complex body modification surgeries while the girl was asleep? We'll never know.

The last story revolves around three friends who line up to buy the ugliest fucking rabbit plushie I have ever seen in my life. This thing looks like it just came out of a nuclear waste bath, but knowing you FNAF FREAKS this would probably sell like hotcakes. When they realize it is sold out, they grab one left in the back of the store, which has been mysteriously returned and looks like it has human eyes and teeth. After a bunch of filler that doesn't really matter, the lights go out, so you know this thing's about to come to life. Obviously it does, and proceeds to chase them while doing terrifying things like messing with doorknobs. Eventually, they lure it to traintracks where it gets splattered, and one of the boys has an emotional reunion with his mom which I didn't understand cus it came completely out of the blue.

0/10 stars, would recommend.

I got quite interested in the FNAF lore after watching Smosh play the games, so I wanted to see what the graphic novels were like.

The art wasn’t good and the stories were so boring. This felt far from the games and was very disappointing. Also no original lore/story was involved.

I have read and watched too much FNAF content in the last week for work. The lore? 10000/10. Matthew Lillard in the movie? And in general? Chef’s kiss. The execution of the plot 99% of the time? So mediocre. Charles Entertainment Cheese has scared me more lol.

القصة الاولى ⭐️into the pit ⭐️5/4

القصة الثانية⭐️5/5⭐️ to be Beautiful

القصة الثالثة ⭐️out of stock ⭐️5/3

Let’s just start this review off by saying that I always look forward to Graphic Novel adaptation of FNaF books, but this one… was a really let down. The stories themselves were good (that’s why I didn’t give it a 1 star), the art though…

First story we have is Into the Pit. It is pretty much how I would have imagined when I read the original story, except for one thing that really bothered me. I don’t really understand the reason they keep these stories “kid’s friendly” and have them be aged 12+. When I read this story and got to the part where Oswald sees the children dead in a room with party hats on, was very more gruesome and much more detailed on the book, in this though, it is only a splash page with the kids facing away and with the party hats on. we see Oswald reaction, but nothing more.

Second story was To Be Beautiful. This might be my favorite of this trio, I love that they didn’t hide any details while showing all of Sarah’s body parts on her garage. I will say though that the scene of when her necklace fell from her was just… poorly adapted, I feel like that scene is really emotional and very dramatic on the original book, but here it just felt rushed and emotionless. I couldn’t really see the desperation on Sarah’s face.

Third and final story being Out of Stock. Ok, this is a complicated one, first of all this is defined NOT my favorite Fazbear Fright story. They basically ruined what was already bad for me. The artwork in this story is just poorly made, I can’t believe Plushtrap’s design was approved to be published, the artist did not have any knowledge of this universe for sure. Everything in this story just felt confusing and poorly edited. In the original story, Plushtrap can actually make you fear him, on this adaptation though I just couldn’t help it but laugh at him.

And no this book does not have the post-credit scene that every Fazbear Frights books have where it references previous stories and ties every book together. (I was really hoping for an adaptation of Stitchwraith picking Plushtrap from the train tracks)

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This graphic novel selection, honestly, didn't stack up to my expectations. If not for already reading the regular novel of this story, I would have honestly been so confused about the plot that I wouldn't have been able to read more than twenty pages. I think these types of stories have a lot of potential in the graphic novel format, but this wasn't it. The artwork was very poor, vague, and honestly a little too dark for the novel's feel. "Into the Pit" was probably the most stylistically strong story, but again, the artwork was much too vague to understand the story. If I didn't already know about what that ball pit does, I wouldn't have understood it *at all* in the graphic format. The second story "To Be Beautiful" was the best of the three in this book, but still, the story itself just wasn't there. There is nothing to indicate the strong connections between characters nor the significance of the scrap in the story. As for "Out of Stock," I cannot stand the design of Plushtrap...and that was honestly the selling point for that story.

Hopefully, these graphic novel versions have better quality as the series goes on...

This book suffers from major comic clickbait (where the cover is beautiful but the insides are ugly and completely different)

I liked the illustrations in the first story but I hate that story as it feels vacant of a plot, the illustrations in the second story are great but the premise of the story makes me sad, the last story was nonsensical and not great and the illustrations were not enjoyable to look at with the springtrap plush not looking like a fnaf character at all, overall the art work in the last one felt sloppy and ugly at best.

first story is some webtoon-lookin nonsense, but the story itself didn’t compel me in the original book so that’s fine. rip “into the pit” but i am not a fan.

the next two stories look much better, i loved “to be beautiful” already so that was a win for me. but the surprise was when the last story turned out to almost be my favorite. i liked it as a short story but it was so much better as a comic! overall enjoyed this but i really wish the first story didn’t look so bad compared to the rest

"Spoopy" fun. Does it all makes sense? No. Are there plot holes? Sure. But dang if this isn't just a fun, crazy franchise. If I'd read this is a kid, I have no doubt I would have been very scared. As an adult, I can just appreciate some creepy creativity.

Третьою й останньою історією у нас є "Out of Stock".

RATING: 3.5 🌟

As a big Fnaf fan I was super excited to read this. The book consists of 3 small stories. I would give this a higher rating but sadly it didn't show much of the fnaf lore. Yes if you know the story and lore behind the games an such you will understand.

Sadly a lot of the stories didn't have a lot of deep depth into it which was expected but I was wishing for more. These are all written and drawn from different authors/artists but I'm assuming was given the thumbs up by Scott himself. These are all stories that have happened in the universe of fnaf and not directly from the game franchise. These stories seemed super rushed and I wished they had more thought into them but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy them.

The first story was the ball pit, which heavily gives hints to the game that came out recently. The story was good but again I feel it was rushed. The second story had to deal with a girl wanting to be beautiful and super popular. I was really confused at first because of how the story started and then it had something that I could see happening. The last story was really interesting as it gave a back story to Plushtrap and where it came from.

I did enjoy them but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesn't know anything about the FNAF lore. I would love to read the second one as soon as I get my hands on it.

Are you a fan of Five Nights at Freddys? Here are 3 more creepy tales in graphic novel format featuring the freaky animatronic creatures that made Freddy's so popular.

Three teens wish for more than they have:

Oswald lives in a small town that is pretty quiet in the school holidays. What makes it even worse is his best friend has moved away to a better life with his parents.

Oswald is soon wishing for something different than time spent in the library and pizza for lunch. His wish is suddenly right in his face as he finds himself back in 1985 at the height of fame for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Parlour. This is more like it, thinks Oswald, but not for long....

Sarah wants nothing more than to be beautiful, popular and seen at school. Making a pact with an old robot she's found seems no big deal. But what does this robot want in return?

Oscar doesn't mind helping out at the old folks home where his mum works. It's tough since his dad left and he knows it pleases his mum. He's looking forward to hanging out with his mates for Halloween and also getting their hands on the latest animatronic toy. The queue is long for the 'Plush Trap Chaser' at the store. But Oscar and his mates get their hands on one another way. A much better version too. It looks so real....

I feel like the cover art style was misleading, because that was not the art style used in the story Out of Stock. I’ve also noticed a trend with the FNAF graphic novel adaptations: they don’t live up to what it’s adapting. Just read the original story if you want something REALLY chilling. The core idea of the original stories are preserved, but it’s a totally different experience. I feel like even if your imagination can conjure up a scarier image, things could have done to make the villains scarier. I did like that the art style changed each story.

Into the Pit

Spring Bonnie’s design wasn’t scary, except for maybe one panel. For the most part he just looked cartoonish. The boss battle fight choreography wasn’t that well adapted.

To Be Beautiful

When Sarah wakes up to Eleanor leaning over her bed, that’s a good moment for horror-esque drawings, but it was pretty tame.

Out of Stock

This one was the “scariest” of them all, just because of the grotesque depiction of Plushtrap. But he didn’t really LOOK like an animatronic. He did kind of look like a really gross Grinch.

Oswald's summer looks like an absolute dead-end...until he starts spending time at a local pizza place with a suspiciously "out of order" ball pit. Sarah wants to be beautiful, nothing more, and her wish might just come true in horrific fashion. Oscar finally gets his hands on this season's "it toy," but it soon turns out that he got way way more than he bargained for from this yellow jacked-up looking bunny.

I've already read "Into the Pit" before and absolutely loved it, so the stories in this graphic novel weren't a surprise or new information. But there is something really unique about reading familiar stories in a new format, and graphic novels are fast becoming one of my favorites. I really liked the art in all three of these stories, but ESPECIALLY "To Be Beautiful," which is one of my favorite Fazbear stories period, let alone in graphic novel form.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the books in this first series of FNAF short stories (compared to the Tales from the Pizzaplex books), this first book was one I loved on the first readthrough, and I loved it even more in this new visual format. Gorgeous, scary, and actually really bloody entertaining.

i think the story was okay, but I really am not loving these art styles, I don't think they go along with each story.

into the pit was kind of eh for me. i really like the story, dont get me wrong, but I feel like the art style didn't compliment it. like...it was just too cheery? and it's a dark story so I didn't like it. i just liked the written version better honestly.

i liked to be beautiful, it was the best out of the three in my opinion, the art was okay and the story was also okay, but I feel like the written version was better in my opinion.

okay, finally I'm going to talk about out of stock...I hate this art style so much. the art style made me just wanna...ughh it was so bad! it's a very lazy art style and I hate it. (don't know if I can be talking with the goofiest art style ever) and it's probably my least favorite due to the fact the story was very boring in my opinion, I almost fell asleep while reading it. (not even kidding) this one is my least favorite of the three

in conclusion, I didn't really like this graphic novel adaptation and I feel like the written versions were better.
