That's one of the most incredible story I've ever read: captivating, mind-blowing, both hilarious and heartbreakingly tragic. I'm afraid I'll never read something like this again.
Funny, introspective, fresh implementation using the derivative tropes we find so comfortable by now. The shorthand archetypes ease us into a journey that instead can surprise you with the depth of its characters and the thoroughness of his work.
Lloyd physically works harder than any isekai protagonist I’ve seen. He isn’t aura farming. He is exhausted, pathetic, brilliant, and gritting his teeth in a bloody grimace all the way to the finish line. Just one more problem, and he’ll get to rest.
The author never shies away from making you feel how painful poverty can be for a modern-day Korean who has given everything to working and studying. Coincidentally, the civic engineering material in this novel was never a bore. I know more about cement now than ever in my life and I love it.
Don’t get me started on Javier.
The ending at the final side story ruined me, I sat in shocked silence for five minutes with tears running down my face. In the end it was all love, all the work was worth it, it all comes back to love and hard work. I thought Javier coming to bring him back was going to be the scene that hurt the most, but the final ending… my goodness.
All I’ll say is that if you check out the manhwa and like it, I would seriously recommend the light novel, because it's one of those rare and beautiful few who have a strong ending.
Oh man, this novel is huge. I read it after the manhwa and it took me so, so long. I don't know how long it took me, but I started a long time ago. The manhwa is funnier but I'm glad I finally know how the story ends. It is really worth the money and time spent. I want to come back once the manhwa is finished, I'm curious about Soo-ho's appearance.
And that ending blew my mind. It's wild and now everything makes sense.
This series made me feel the whole range of emotions. I laughed, cried, and cried some more. The entire premise of the story was approached very well and none of the arcs seemed boring to me at all. I love Javier and Lloyd's interactions and how they slowly became close to each other.
