Ever since they were kids, Avianna Diaz from UST Architecture and Larkin Sanchez from UP Film were inseparable, not until Larkin's fame grew over time, and they suddenly found themselves taking different roads at the same time.
The plot is good but the author's writing style didn't give justice to it. Her writing style is mediocre, dull, and empty. I would force myself to read the next chapters hoping that her writing style would improve but no. I didn't finished this book tbh. I would cringe at the English lines. I knew why it's called, "Golden Scenery of Tomorrow" but that's it? No deeper meaning of the title? Gwy, I hope you would find time to improve your writing style. Make better plots with no plot holes. Explore new genres.
I was really disappointed for this book. I feel like this book was unnecessarily long? too many unimportant scenes which made it boring. In addition, both the mcs have an inconsistent personality, which was infuriating. However, the first half of the book was good, but after they enter college that's where it went downhill. I was also extremely confused on how things escalated between them on the last chapters and on how Via wanted to just randomly write songs. The author should've indicated how Via came to realize that song writing was her calling and not just randomly putting it in a chapter.
Lastly, THE BED SCENES WERE OBVIOUSLY FAN SERVICE. I saw on Twitter that the fans demanded the author for the mcs to do IT and I think it's so freakin weird?!?! Like wtf is wrong w u people?? 🤨 And of course bcos the author wants to satisfy her fans, she wrote it🙂 it was so unnecessary it literally ruined the whole story (for me). So in conclusion, sayang tong story, I love the concept and the idea of it but the way it was written was not :((
i'm not hating on the author bcos truthfully i think she's a good person and she's funny, but her writing could improve more, so i hope her readers won't go all whiny on how some levelheaded ppl gave their review.
I do find this book plain, boring and hard for me to finish. The story is predictable and easy to conclude. I hope the author will improve her writing style. There are plot holes and timelines are confusing. Characters are inconsistent. I do also find bs unnecessary, I think it was written because of her reader's demand. I hope she will write not to justify her readers expectations but will write for herself. Her readers making me so mad like most of them advocates women empowerment but it seems they don't practice what they preach. They shaming clea when she doesn't even do anything wrong.
disclaimer: my insight towards her readers doesn't affect my insight in her books
The author's writing style didn't give justice to ITS PLOT. Her writing style is BORING. TOO MUCH CRINGEY LINES, I honestly can't take it. The short film makes it more cringey, especially if the portrayer is... naah....no commment. i'm excited on the titles meaning... but I can't seem find its deeper meaning. It seems like you just choose this title to have a aesthetic vibes. Make a better plots with no plot holes. Explore new genres. AVOID recycling names because it is super obvious! ISANG letter lang yung binago at dinadagdag mo sa pangalan. YOUR CHARACTERS DOESN'T HAVE CONSISTENT PERSONALITYYYYYY! SUPER LABO DIN NG TIMELINEEEEEEEE.
this took me so long to read and i literally can't move on from one chapter to another so i just dnf it. at first i thought that i was just lazy, but now i think it's because i really did not enjoy the story. i really enjoyed the last 4 stories of the series, but this one did not hit me that much.
Hands down, favorite book from the series. I would argue if I heard na this is the pinaka boring raw na story from the Univ Series kasi if you would look into it differently, I bet you, this story remains on top talaga. Every character’s origin from the series was explained here and though I know some would say it was just a glimpse lang naman, it still showed each of their background and how many interactions happened before each character’s love story even started. It showed how the foundation was built into how it is now for everyone to enjoy each individual story and each individual’s character.
This is the longest story amongst all books in the series, showing how they grew up na… From high school to college then to post time skip work na nila. The progression was slow but you could feel the build up for every chapter that passes by. For each conflict introduced in different time periods, it showed the characters’ way of resolving those said conflicts. How they decided to act upon it during their hs/college/work days… Kaya it really made me notice the progression of maturity within the characters talaga. The level of growth they were able to gain per chapter truly made me admire the main couple. It made me grow fonder of Via and Arkin’s individual characters and how they are together as well.
Via’s character is complex and what makes me very attached to her character is probably how she continues to be unpredictable rin ih. Despite the author writing most of the chapters through Via’s lens, how she chooses to act in the events she’s in keeps me invested kasi it makes you think talaga, like ‘oh! She’s doing this?’, ‘wow! She’s going to do this pala?’ Na it keeps you on your feet rin. Her character deserves more explanation pa pero ayun, it just makes this story even more unique and requires a deeper understanding by looking through each individual character in a deeper sense pa.
aaaaaa I wanna cry so bad. this is one of the books that will make you think “why do books have to end?,” even before I started reading GSOT I just knew Via would be my comfort character from that day on. And I was right. I have never seen any character I’ve to relate to so much and when I first got to know Via, I know in thousands of female heroine in books she would be my comfort, the one I relate to, the one I find solace in, the one who makes me feel loved and at ease.
this book is soooo good, in-fact I think GSOT is my favorite installment in the University Series. I love them all with my whole heart but no one made me feel like GSOT made me feel and experience. I’m so excited for the physical book release for this book soon. I would no doubt buy it.
anyway, first of all, LARKIN MFING SANCHEZ??????? MY STANDARD JUST WENT HIGHER THAN THE CLOUDS 🫣 I mean, kino is really just yk 💚✅🍀☘️🐢🧩🍵🧃 THE GREEN-NESS IS SO VISIBLE EVEN FROM THE FIRST CHAPTERS 🫡 truly one of a kind, and I now believe no one would ever live up to him. facts hurt. 👹 anywho,,, love the plot so much! definitely the best story where-in the male heroine is an actor, and god I love it so much 💀💀
Gwy also really exposed the whole celebrity/television industry in this book LMFAO
and Via omg 🙁🙁🙁 where do I even start!!!! I love her so fucking much <3 <3 she went through A LOT when she was younger up until now and she still overcame that and honestly, love her so much for that 🤍 she deserves every love and support in this world and I'm glad she has Arkin, her dad, Ysha, Mira, Aidan, and friends to make her feel that love she was longing to feel her whole life by her mother. ❤️🩹
also, the ending is SO good. literally the best ending scene/line I’ve ever read in my entire life. 😭💗💗
anyway, one of my favorites reads this year so far! can’t get over the fact that GSOT is really done now. 🥹 I’ve been meaning to read this for like a year now, and I have no regrets making time for this book. also, love u gwy/4reuminct !!! one of my favorite Filipino authors ever <3 <3 <3
Thank you for making Larkin & Avianna. 🌅
I love you so much Arkin & Via. You will always be my comfort characters. You both feel like home. And home is where i say it is. You both are loved more than you think.

"Mahal kita. Bilang kaibigan, bilang girlfriend, bilang ikaw. Mahal kita at mamahalin kita hanggang sa mahalin mo na rin ang sarili mo” — Larkin Olivier Sanchez | Chapter 33

“Red, orange, yellow… The colors of sunset always reminded me of her. The golden scenery that witnessed how we started, ended… and started all over again. The sunset may represent another end…. but it always gave me hope for a good tomorrow. A chance to be with each other again.” — Larkin Olivier Sanchez | Epilogue
No essence of university, again. Predictable na ang story sa simula pa lang. Cliché and lack of emotions. Too many fillers or unnecessary scenes that made every chapters hard to read. Long chapters but, most of the scenes are unnecessary. The lead man was a part of a squad but, lagi lang siyang nasa tabi ni Sevi at Via. I'm thankful na hindi ko nagawang tapusin ito... Pero, nagawa kong lumaktaw dahil nasa dulo daw ang explanation ng GOLDEN SCENERY, funny huh.
The MV is irrelevant. The portrayal of characters was... ah-uh. I don't want to talk.

I love Via and Arkin's relationship, and how they teach each other how to love, heal, and feel. Their connection was beautiful and inspiring, and their relationship was a hit. The main message, I believe, was that you shouldn't be reliant on the people you love since dependency and love are two different things, that you should heal yourself before healing others, and that in order to love, you must first love yourself.
The friendship, the lesson, the romance, and the drama were all enjoyable to me. I shed a few tears and laughed uncontrollably. I appreciate the significance of the title, and I admire how much thought went into this book, from the music to the character portrayals. I think the entire friend group makes this book enjoyable. The lesson about celebrities dating impacted me as well, therefore it was insightful and influential writing. gwy deserves a lot of credit.
I was genuinely amazed at how Gwys' writing style evolved over time. Because it was less cringy and the drama made enough sense to have you feel things, I think the book was a huge improvement over the first in the series. I just believe it was too long, and it was monotonous and dull at points. And I think the ending made it cringe because it was too predictable but overall i loved it. kudos to gwy for creating such lovable characters
Among the characters, I really grew fond of Via and Arkin, and I was excited to follow their story. The first half of the book was engaging, and I even found myself shedding a few tears during some of the emotional moments. It brought back nostalgic memories of my own high school days, and I thoroughly enjoyed the early chapters, especially since I'm a complete sucker for friends to lvoers tropes. Gwy does an excellent job with writing sweet, lighthearted, and funny storylines, and some scenes really showcased that charm.
However, the second half of the book was incredibly disappointing. I couldn’t even finish it because the plot took a sharp turn for the worse. It felt like the story lost its heart, and the direction became muddled and aimless. The pacing was off, and there were unnecessary events and poorly executed scenes that left me feeling frustrated.
It's a shame because the potential was there, but the latter half felt half-baked, lacking depth or genuine emotion. I also agree with one of the reviews I read— the bed scenes felt forced and awkward, almost as if they were included just to fit a particular plot point.
If I had to rate the book in halves, I would give the first half a solid 4/5, but the second half would barely scrape a 1/5. It’s really disappointing when a promising story loses its way like that.
AKING PABORITONG TROPE. ANG FOUND FAMILY. ANG PAG-IIBIGAN. ANG KOMEDYA. AKING BAGONG PABORITONG LIBRO. AKING MAHAL. AKING MUSIC. AKING LAHAT.
Napatunayan sa aklat na ito ang pagpapabuti ng pagkakasulat ng may-akda. Sana ang lahat ng mga nagbabasa ng librong ito ay may GoodReads account para mapakita sa iba na ang ganda talaga nito.

This book is soo wholesome because this shows how and when the University Series found family met. It took five books for my curiosity to stop. I love it!
THIS. The childhood friends to strangers/enemies/frenemies to LOVERS. MY FAVORITE TROPE. THE FOUND FAMILY. THE ROMANCE. THE COMEDY. MY NEW FAVORITE BOOK. MY LOVE. MY MUSIC. MY EVERYTHING.
It is proven in this book the improvement of the author's writing. I wish that all those who've read this have a GoodReads account so that they can show others how great this is.
This story told us the reality of show business industry here in the Philippines. It will made us realized that no matter how much we love to see two people together, we should not forget the fact that they have their own lives too and what they are doing are part of their work. I understand Via's decision and trauma but I am also hurt for Arkin, I was kinda scared for the ending because I am already on the epilogue yet I am not satisfied on how chapter 50 ended. But the writer was really good and found a way to end this story giving the readers a happy heart and satisfaction yet wanting for more.
Grabe. Gwy never disappoints! From TRIE until here in GST, super salute ako sa kanya. Bentang benta parin sakin yung banat nung mga characters and you'll really see the character development of the two leads. Actually sa lahat naman ng stories niya makikita mo yung character development ng mga characters, you'll see how they grow and how they face the consequences of their decisions. Can't wait for Kierra's story to finish para mabasa ko na din. I love you Via and Arkin ❤️

Out of many of her stories for me this one stands out and lessen the wattpad kind of plot like enemies to lovers ,opposites attract and fixed marriages . This story is just the book that you would read in a short time because It's not that long ,but I want to highlight the lessons I learned from this book the cause of their breakup is the loveteam of Klea and Arkin which I found interesting due to the Philippine Showbiz the way people wanted the loveteams to end up together in real life which causes Via and Arkin's relationship to crumble It made me realize that we cannot push people to each other just for the sake of visions and aesthetic sometimes we don't know we are ruining someone's relationship and because of that Via went far away from Arkin's life she distanced herself till she finds her own rhythm and Arkin at the end come after Via which is a good ending he let go of his showbiz career and be with Via .

as a person who loves reading friends to lovers trope, this one is the worst i've read so far. i mean, the flow of the story was unnecessary slow and almost all dialogues are so cringy and cliche. I've noticed some jokes that the author obviously got from facebook which made it so corny and annoying. i was rooting for this story since the very start i read this series but it disappointed me so much. I read it when it was still updating on wattpad. the first half of story was actually okay for me then suddenly it became so boring and corny as i said. i keep on giving it benefit of the doubt coz i said it's still on going and maybe the twist will come along the way but no. It's so plain. i wasted my time waiting for updates. i anticipated to see more but it gave me nothing. i dropped this when the author said that there are only 4 chapters left.
Gwy never disappoints me. I understand why Via dislikes being in Arkin's spotlight. I wouldn't like it either if I were Via. I cried when Via and Arkin were in pain as a result of the manager's actions and the trauma Via experienced as a child. I adore the Album in this book. I don't like what the manager makes Arkin do. And I'm amazed by Clea's character; I thought I'd hate her, but I was wrong; I adore Clea. I understand everything because they are controlled by someone. In the future, I hope Clea and Adonis will have their book. I'm willing to wait because I'm curious about their story. Arkin and Via's relationship is the best! That is the type of friendship and relationship I would like to have.
See you when I see you Arkin and Via!! 🌇 waiting for Oye to be finished.
slow-paced for me ! super love the album made in this !! but still, friends to lovers ain’t my trope 🥲
50 chapters all worth it bc from seventh grade to their professional lives did i witness it all. never a dull moment every time they’re complete and puro bangayan lang sila sevi, arkin, luna, & yanna 😭 when via’s suffering, she had sam bc she went through the same and used her downfall to prevent via from crumbling even deeper. and, clea, too ! i didn’t expect her character to be the nice friend she is, like sam ! i can relate so much to via bc of her responsibilities and mature thinking at a young age :)) & i think i’ll let oye finish first b4 reading it nd the drafts ! hehehe
as usual, gwy did not disappoint! I have been a fan of her since her KN fanfics era, and I could say that this story is the one of her bests! I'm not really a fan of clichè tropes, but I could say that this story is the kind of clichè that I would like to read over and over again because this type of story I was able to relate to Via, and I was able to empathize with all her feelings (lol I cried two consecutive nights because of her). as of now, out of all the stories under univ series, I could say that this has already surpassed elyse and sevi's story (CITW). the best univ series story yet! let's see if I would be able to change my mind after reading OYE
“Sana’y dinggin ang dalangin ang aking hangaring mahalin mo rin ako Kulay kahel na langit nakitang gumuhit sa ganda ng mata mo”
Before I read this, I took the which U-series girl are you... Guess what? I got Via. As I was reading this book, I slowly understood why I got her. She’s the most relatable character for me.
I really love this book because I’m the type of girl who would want to get to know someone for a long time before entering a relationship with them. I hope that when I get older, I’ll meet my own Arkin. A family oriented, respectful, loving guy who would understand me.
Wahhh i cant believe i’ve finally finished this book!! To say that I love it is an understatement, this was the best book I’ve read (so far since i hvnt read OYE) in the University series.
I really admired Via and Kino’s relationship although they experienced their ups and down. They still found themselves wrapped in each others arms since they’ve known each other since they were kids. This book taught me that we shouldn’t stay in the past but live in the present, while forgiving our past grudges and live without regrets. Ty ate gwy for writing this amazing book! See you Kierra and Shan.. iiyak cguro ako dito HAHAHAHAHAH
This book was boring in my opinion. The premise of the story was interesting but the author made it soooo boring. It was too long, and ang dami sinasabi wala naman kwenta, like ano ba connect non sa story?! smh It had so much potential but in the end it was sooo disappointing. The sex scene before she left for Spain was sooo out of character, so was the dressing room sex scene. I always thought that their first time would be gentle but still passionate, not when he had a cold and couldn’t really do anything. Reading the sex scenes were so painful like he just put it in when she probably wasn’t wet enough (talking about the dressing room scene).

Arkin and Via… where to start?? I’ve fallen in love with them. Arkin’s passion for Via is the most precious thing. I will never get over his love for her. And Via loving Arkin all that time, but the type of loving changed- she cared for him more than how she did before. They were the definition of soulmates. I will never get over the tears, the conflict, the sadness, the happiness, everything. I love them.
loved the high school flashbacks, i liked reading how their love developed from something entirely platonic from being bestfriends since the moment they were born to finding independence and eventually realizing that they find just the peace and solidarity theyve been looking for in each other. 4 stars bcos it was a bit long, i feel it was dragged but i get that gwy had to lead things up to one another;; therefore d long ass story
i should not have talked when i said aotd hurts bcus gsot ?? lol shut up nalang ako. viarkin's so underrated. this story just felt way too slow for me but i still enjoyed it. I LOVE THIS !! i love how we saw how the univ squad formed, their background stories from high school, and the crumbs !! THE CRUMBS !!!! every main character is a green flag but kino ?? mAS GREEN PA SA GREEN PLSSS isang kino lang naman hinihingi ko lord 😩
This is one of the two top favorites from the Series. This not only shows the relationship between Kino and Via but also how the friendship between the squad was created. I love those scenes from their high school and the things that made their friendship stronger. Via also kept her issues to herself, like Sam, but she was able to open herself up and ask for other people’s help. I can say that I was expecting that much on how their relationship will mend again.
navigates the complexities of relationships and identity, making readers reflect on their own lives. The author’s engaging writing style and relatable characters draw you in from the first page. With a perfect balance of humor and heartfelt moments, this book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys contemporary fiction with a twist. The story's depth and warmth make it an unforgettable experience, leaving you eager to explore more of the author’s work.
the first few parts (highschool life) were kinda boring and it was kinda weird na may times na magkatabi sila natutulog kahit bestfriends lang sila. giving bff premium. medyo meh nung writing style and honestly nakakaboring basahin kasi masyadong maraming words tapos it felt like she was trying so hard to sound deep. anw, i still finished it because im obsessed with the trope.
Fav ko ito sobra dahil ito yung sobrang nagpaiyak sa'kin and nagpataba rin ng puso ko kasi rito lng nmn sa libro nah simula mga invisible strings nilang lahat which kinda cute tbh and lahat tlg ng backstory kung paano sila nagkita-kita is rito niyo lng makikita. Enjoyable Siya sa'kin since ph yung settings and high school pa.
