Heartthrob singer-songwriter Gunner Cane was on the verge of hitting it big when he up and left the Nashville music scene in a shroud of mystery. No explanations. No apologies.

Packing up his guitar and his dreams he returned to his family’s destination dude ranch in Wyoming.

Plan B.
The only other thing he knew, the cowboy life.

When all was said and done that’s where he belonged anyway…wasn’t it?

The tabloids and gossip pipelines fixated on it for about a minute, until it was buried under the next big story…

Pastry chef Sophia Russo had it all. A Le Cordon Bleu pedigree, a successful career with a five-star restaurant group, a prince charming fiancé and a luxurious condo in the River North district of Chicago.

Until it became the metaphoric equivalent of a train wreck—in the blink of an eye, she found herself in a freefall. No job, no condo, no fiancé.

After months of laying low, working at her parent’s bakery in downtown Chicago, Sophia and her bestie Amelia embark on their dream vacation. Destination: a real-life working dude ranch in Wyoming.

Neither Gunner nor Sophia expect to be pierced by Cupid’s arrow, but some things you just can’t call.

Sophia has no intention of giving in to her attraction to gorgeous cowboy Gunner Cane.

Gunner has his own reasons for keeping things on the professional side with beautiful guest Sophia Russo.

But there’s no denying the sizzling chemistry between them…which just might be more than they can handle.

The past collides with the present as old love interests appear and unsolved mysteries surface.

Hello Readers!
I'm thrilled to announce the release of my fourteenth novel, Love in the Outfield! This sweet, feel-good romcom follows MLB player Cade Jennings, who is traded back to his hometown and unexpectedly runs into the love he left behind, Georgia Anderson--only to discover she has an adorable toddler (shocker) who is the spitting image of himself. As they navigate the challenges of co-parenting, meddling families, and the complexities of their past, Cade and Georgia are forced to confront feelings that never truly faded. I fell in love with the leading characters and their quirky, spirited families, and I can't wait for you to meet them all.

I'd also love for you to check out my 2023 Christmas release, A Tinsel Tale. It launched a little late last season, so to me, it feels like a fresh release waiting to be enjoyed! Set in a cozy, lakeside small town, this second-chance romance is sure to put you in the holiday spirit, with just the right touch of spice.
Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them!

POV switched up quite often....very confusing
Sex scenes were mediocre, chemistry not great
Could not connect with heroine. Too prissy and whinny. I also had a hard time getting past the fact that the heroine (Sophia Russo) has the exact same name as the heroine in Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh. That was weird.
Never a fan when there is a journalist involved in the story. Usually skip those for that alone.
Ending seemed sudden but I think it was supposed to be an epilogue. I have no idea how much time passed🤷🏻‍♀️

I received Cowboy Magic as part of a Goodreads giveaway.

After a rough breakup, Sophia Russo and her best friend Amelia head to the Triple C Ranch, a working dude ranch, for a girls' getaway. There she meets Gunner Cane, one of the sons of the family and a former rising country star, who left Nashville under a cloud of mystery. When Sophia, a pastry chef, steps in to assist after a kitchen staffing shortage, her stay at the Triple C lengthens and the attraction that has been brewing between the two escalates. But will Josh's past--dreams and secrets--jeopardize their romance before it even starts?

This was a cute romance that moved at a good pace and featured two likable leads with good chemistry and no cartoonish villains. I think I would have appreciated a bit more development of their relationship over time--it seemed like it skipped weeks at a time which made things seem a bit choppy. Additionally, it could use another round of editing as there were numerous errors that took much of the polish off of it. All in all, though, it's a universe I wouldn't mind revisiting in future books.

“Cowboy Magic” (The Triple C Ranch Book 1) by Jill Downey

**Spoiler Alert**

I love me a cowboy and especially one who can sing and play the guitar…

Sophia has just about had enough. Could this day get any worse? Um… YES... What the hell? Did he not think of her? How could this happen? Disappearing for a much needed vacation is just what the Dr. ordered…

Gunner is speechless. He never expected this little spitfire when he was tasked to do the collecting. This is sure to be an interesting two weeks and one he is willing to challenge...

What an experience and it’s just the beginning. Having two hot men making her swoon is just an added bonus but who will it be in the end. This is not something she was looking for and she knows Gunner has secrets. She sees it in his eyes. What will his truths reveal and will he trust her enough to tell her? Friends is all they can be… or…

Gunner has no choice but to reveal all. Will she think differently of him? Will she think of him as a liar? How won’t be able to handle losing her so fight it is. The disappointment is crushing. He thought of him as a brother but little did he know the truth behind the lies.

A gripping story that will make you swoon. Great story of heartbreak, sadness, forgiveness and so much more.

Sophia finally gets away with her best friend to a ranch for a much needed vacation after losing her job, fiancé and home, the last thing she wants is to be interested in a cowboy and a uppity one at that.
Gunner ran from the limelight to his family’s ranch where the outside world couldn’t get to him but when he picked up the fiery redhead from the airport he knew the outside world found him.
I have not read this author before yet I was so comfortable with this story I am looking forward to the next book.

It’s a delightful romance between a songwriter who was about to make it big returns home unexpectedly to run his family dude ranch and a pastry chef who loses everything and is now helping her parents’ bakery.

Each will try to resist their growing attraction but sometimes love has its own plans. A sweet romance read.

It was okay, I found I was skipping pages as the story didn't grab me. I didn't really take to the leading female at all.
I have since read the other three books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them all so glad I stuck with it.

Cowboy Magic (Triple C Ranch Book 1)

This story was magical, it had everything, love, excitement, ranch life with a holiday mix. Entrigue and dishonesty. All the ranch animals and sexy cowboys I recommend this series and will be reading them all.

It’s cheesy, but aren’t most romance novels? Gunner Cane had to leave Nashville because of blackmail. He goes back to his parents’ ranch and soon meets the beautiful Sophia Russo. She and her friend Amelia paid for a vacation at the ranch. Naturally, Sophia tries to be the only girl in the world that is irritated by Gunner and he’s the smoldering cowboy that’s just a bad boy with a good heart. It doesn’t take too long before they get into something together and excuses are made for Sophia to have to stay at the ranch longer than her vacation. Typical romance stuff. But of course, they have to find out where the blackmail came from so Gunner can return to Nashville…

Enjoyed the book and could of been a 5-star for me had it not ended so abruptly. Wish author had written an epilogue.
