I’m a language teacher and a language learner. When learning a language it is absolutely necessary to get as much comprehensible input as possible, it means that we must read or listen to things we can understand. That is why the input can be just SLIGHTLY MORE ADVANCED than our own level. Otherwise we can get really frustrated and the input won’t service its purpose. So, one must be beware of one’s level.
These here stories could be for lower-advanced learners or even upper-beginners with patience without which language learning doesn’t exist.
I find the topics in this book quite interesting, the language is real and the vocabulary varies depending on the topic which enriches our speech. The Summary in the end of each story can be used in different ways depending on one’s level and the vocabulary list helps us to check out quickly some of the words we may not know. But again, this is individual knowledge.
I really enjoyed reading these stories. It is not at all easy to find extra reading that can captivate and keep your interest in a language that you are just learning. These stories do that, you won’t get bored.
And, what is more important, the author/s of this book is/are professional/s.
So, I’m happy to recommend these short stories as extra reading while learning this beautiful Scandinavian language.

A very nice read, the stories are light and funny. You learn a lot of new words (thanks to the vocabulary lists, you don’t have to look up anything) The new words Often appear in the other stories, so they trend to stick. I recommend it when you are learning Swedish! It’s an easy way to learn new vocabulary and get used to the language.

These stories are a very welcome break from the boring sentences and grammar that regular language lessons are usually offering. I had to look up quite a lot of words while reading the text but it sticks so much better when they are part of an actual story. In other words: great learning material, and the stories are a great read too.

Great help when learning a language. It can train your vocabulary and help you on the way to speaking fluently. It gives you a break from all the repetitive lessons on apps like duolingo. But it can be hard to go through this book because if you are just starting from nothing and you don't want to put too much time into learning than it might not be for you, because the stories are in Swedish and you have only translations of certain words and not the whole stories. There are summaries but they are not the whole translations and if you don't know unhighlighted words than you have to translate it yourself and it can take some time as these stories are pretty long. So I think it's missing full translations of it but I guess it would take much more time to create it. But overall I'm happy with it.

I am a beginner at learning Swedish, my level is currently almost A1 - but even though this book might seem too difficult for total beginners, it is actually very helpful! The stories, the layout, the vocabulary - all of them are so logically organized and combined, that you can improve your reading skills in no time! I like the fact that there is a story summary in both English and Swedish, which can help you see the outline at a glance. The questions at the end of each chapter are the perfect way to test your reading capacity. In a few words, I recommend this book to all those who wish to learn Swedish even from scratch and also to those who wish to improve their reading ability in a foreign language. Tack så mycket!

This is great book for beginner Swedish learners. It's not that easy to find reading material for beginners that is not aimed at children but this book is perfect for that.
Before each short story there is a summary in both English and Swedish of the story as well as a vocabulary list of the more uncommon words that appear in the story, this makes it easy to follow along without having to go and google translate sections.
If you are looking to improve your Swedish comprehension and are getting bored of reading news articles and childrens books I can highly recommend this book as a good way to improve your Swedish reading skills.

For someone like me that haven’t yet undergone a formal Swedish class, this book has helped me to widen my knowledge and exercise my vocabulary as well. It can be quite overwhelming at first but as soon as you get the grasp of it, you’ll be able to understand Swedish, at least through reading, well in no time. Kudos to the people behind this book!

This is really awesome and a very useful book. The words and phrases are articulate and connect to the daily activities. I have learnt new words in just a short time and hopefully I will get more sentences to help me communicate very well in the coming days, months and years. I am looking forward to receiving the book.

I have studied Swedish for several years. Reading has always been the most difficult for me. I went through your book last month. Reading short stories with all the input you offer has made a great difference for me. I now finally feel confident to read Swedish using a better method. Thanks!

Det var en bra bok. Varje texten är intressant och dessutom har svart orden och en testen. Det är en bra chans att lära dig svenska om du tycker om rolig texten.
Jag föredrar det här bok än andra sätt att lära.

This is the absolute worst book i have ever seen in my life

They give u 20 2 page stories in Swedish and tell u about 10 of the words in English and expect you to learn the language

I want to sock the galloping Swede wearing wooden shoes in the face that made this rn

I’m giving this 4/5 stars because I feel like the words that have been deemed necessary or important for the story are at times random where others should clearly have been prioritized.

Other than that, I highly recommend this for every advanced beginner - intermediate reader.
